  1. My Guardian does fine in PVP....

Though Republic seems to SUCK at huttball for some reason.

Also, one of the big advantages Imperials have at huttball is that imperial side ALREADY HAS same side hutball PVP. 9/10 PVP matches I enter on my Agent are Huttball Imp vs. Imp.

So this means they get a lot more practice at it than we do.

The population is slightly in favor of the Empire on most servers, but this really doesn't effect warzones because you can only have 8 players per faction.

The main advantage I've seen with imperials is:

Inquisitors get some pretty mad Crowd Control.

Imperial PUGS and pre-made groups usually have more level 50 players than the republic PUGs. Republic pre-mades are basically nonexistent.

For the most part, Imperials are better about communications in Ops chat. Having a leader telling you which objective to hit when, and even which person to focus fire on, is a BIG advantage in PVP.

Lastly, like in most games I've played, many who decide to play the "Good Guys" simply believe you can waltz into PVP and slaughter people by yourself. Trying to solo in PVP is a fools errand, on any game.

Imperials do much less of this.

  2. Any info on exactly when it begins? I know we have the name and can level it and all, but when is the rest supposed to be added in? I can't seem to find any notices about it, and I need to know before I start my next character...

It's when you finish your class quest on Alderaan, for either faction.

So somewhere in the mid to high thirties.

I'd highly suggest getting a main his legacy title before working seriously on any alts. As these alts will also generate legacy points for you, after you've unlocked your legacy on that server.

Also note, legacies are SERVER wide.

I have one legacy on Kass City for my Republicans.

Working on another legacy on Shii-cho for my Imperials.

  3. Yeah sorry, no offense taken. Just there is some people being rather annoying in this thread and I'm being a bit more grumpy then usual cause they are making fun of something that is a serious matter to me.

    Cue WAR.

In all seriousness though, annoying as the patches are, I think they are a necessary evil in this case.

But I can say from experience as a long time consumer in this industry, that as time marches forward you'll see less and less seemingly random patches and hotfixes, and more large scale weekly/monthly updates.

  4. Please DO NOT discuss the details of the exploit in this thread. This is concerning if ROLL BACKS will be required and nothing more.

    Advanced Blue Critical Crystal

    +4 Critical

    Requires level 4

    1,000,000 credits

Credit exploits or not, I'd like some of whatever THAT GUY was smoking when he posted that on the GTN.

I'd almost be willing to wager he's just using it as extra storage for the crystal.

  5. There are what 3 to 6 missions for each side so far?

Try more like nine missions by the time your level 35ish.

And more to come as you get higher level. I think they unlock every 5-10 levels or so?

Admittedly, some of these missions are just copycats of earlier missions you've done, with increased difficulty.

I won't say it's my favorite "Space Combat", because I admittedly liked WING COMMANDER better than this for that aspect.

But you factor in the xp and credits from completing your space dailies, and your not looking at small numbers.

I've pulling something like 20k credits a night, just doing my space daily missions on my level 35 Knight.

  6. The three maint's already happened. Tues, Wens, Thursday..... Where have you been?

I guess I was actually sleeping during the Tuesday patch.....

Didn't mean to offend. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something in the stickies about another patch tonight.

    Please forgive my ignorance.

  7. I'd say the bigger issue here, is that there is still a HIGH percentage (say 65%+) of the PVP population that doesn't even KNOW that they can vote for MVP.

If I added up all the unused votes I've seen in PVP matches, I'd have enough medals to melt them down and build London Bridge.

I think a very EASY fix, would be to include a tooltip in the PVP loading screen along these lines:

"Be sure to vote for MVP of your team! Each vote gives the player you voted for extra warzone commendations!"

  8. How big an area are we talking?

On first guess, I'd say it's a story area you can only access after your story sends you back to Coruscant. But I'm not sure that ever even happens, not having any level fifties yet. What I CAN tell you about this theory, is that it held true for Nar Shadda's bonus series area. You can't get to it until you unlock that speeder at level 28.

Second guess is that it's simply fog of war over an exhaustion zone, or straight drop unto death.

  9. I love everything about this game, but I fear MMOs have grown on me and I just can not get the years of enjoyment from them like I used to. I know I can probably get 4-6 months of entertainment from this game just by trying different classes and stuff, but I know that eventually I will get to that point where all there is left to do is improve your end-game characters.

What is there to do at end-game that doesn't just feel like an unnecessary chore? I guess my old age has changed my perception of what is fun, because I know SWG, earth and beyond, and WoW were no different in that mostly the goal is to improve your character, but I really hope I can find something that keeps me interested past just leveling every class.. because so far I'm really enjoying the questing game.

    cheers

More and more to me, it seems like the most interesting endgame/newalt features will be implemented with updates to the legacy system. What leads me to this conclusion, is the fact that the legacy system enables you to still have a sort of "XP" to gain even after levelcapping.

Not sure exactly how these will work, but it's a thought.

Worse comes to worse, you can try out another game while you're waiting for the developers to flesh out new content. This method kept my guild in Lord of the Rings Online for 3+ years. (intermittently that it.)

  10. All my characters are generally fat, short, and like to get as inebriated as possible.

My Jedi Knight is no exception. The only difference between him in this game, and his many incarnations in other games, is that this time I could make his skin Green.

(And by inebriated, I don't necessarily mean alcohol.)
