  1. (i hear too many ppl talk about Gut and Im not sure if its mostly for pvp/dps or what but...) I was thinking that EB with its 15s CD was a bit long for just having it to regen 1 ammo. How do others feel about its worth in PVE (tanking)? I was wondering, would this be a viable possibility: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801G0GrdoroGZMsr0oZb.1 Thanks ^^
  2. so how are your modifications set up? it looks like its about 60/40 or so def/shield then absorb randomly (or from ear/implants)
  3. With my server being low on Republic side or no one crafts on my server idk; i have the same problem and I am doing the same thing you are for my mods (ive yet to find any patterns for my cybertech alt to make def mods and Ive yet to see any 'good' tanking ones on the trainer. I can however make the '22' adv enhancements myself as well as the equivalent in armor mod. all lvl 49 but its better than blues. this is what I am wanting to know about. I agree 100% with you on this. I want it but what i dont want is this to somehow be wrong (i dont know how to explain it) I really just wanted someone with experience in this matter (and with experience in using this setup) to give me some insight and you along with the others have done this. Just its seeming like a 50/50 'yes its a good idea' rather than a 100% like i hoped for. I can do dailies all week and get the other of whatever i choose and try it out - i just really didnt want to have to waste the time getting 1 set to know that the other set is better. Waahlmao, could you possibly post what your stats look like (even hp) so i can see how it looks? thanks
  4. This is what I thought. No where could I find Glance on my enhancements I can craft or the GTN. I knew something was amiss. Thank you. Now I believe we are getting somewhere and Im guessing it should be do we do Shield rating on at least 1 form of modification and if so do we toss in some absorption for that shield rating? Is there a good % to be at with shield at least?
  5. Ok, so glance is kinda like (or is) block rating. I thought that shield was your 'block' like a shield in other mmo's it will block an attack and then its 'block rating' would absorb that dmg and you would still take whats left over to your armor. For SWTOR it would (how i saw it) - you shield an attack based on your shield % then that attack is absorbed by its absorption rating (whatever your absorb % is) then your take the rest of the attack to your armor (armor rating) Ive been reading and shield rating and glance seem like the same stat. everywhere i read it says "block rating" and shield % is stated as "block like in wow" or "shield chance which is like blocking an attack" - maybe this whole 'blocking' being done in SWTOR is something different than what i picture it. Either way I can make some of those enhancements you listed but everything that says 'glance' on that list of yours says 'shield rating' on my crafting list and on my equipment. So i just see it coming down to me going with def in both my mod and enhance slot and 1 of the two having shield chance in it. We know 100% def is the best stat for us but as far as other stats go - theres not much about secondary stats to our def. Tried asking some 'raiding guardians' on my server how they are geared but I dont think they exist.
  6. I have heard this too. 2 rolls. As far as 2 shield for every 1 def, I can always try that. it sounds good but I would have to change my modifications around in order to do so. Is there any need for absorption rating at all? I would think yes because if you are shielding a lot more you, theoretically, would want that shielding to stop more than a base amount (that is more often than not; low.) This is true from what I understand. But when (and if) does too much def become 'too much' i mean 48, almost 49% seems every high to me. Now given I had no trouble fighting normal bosses and normal EV bosses (the trouble was hard mode bosses and me almost getting 1 shotted it seemed (that or i just get too rocked for my healers to comfortably heal me) - but, like before, I want to max my effective HP and I didnt know any other way other than modding for shield and therefore its counter stat: absorption rating. I'll always mod in def and ill always have end and armor rating from 49+ purple armor modifications. just on the lower stat giving enhancements (thats where the third stat seems lower than a mods 3rd stat if i remember correctly) i was going to drop def for a bit more of absorption rating and with enhancements middle stat being a higher stat than its mod counterpart - i would throw shield in there giving up, say, acc cause I can get what i need from ear/implants so it would look like the mods I posted in my first post. If I do need to do 2 shield for every 1 def I could always reverse those two modifications and do: Advanced Resilient Mod 22B 36 Str 21 End 27 Absorb Steadfast Enhancement 22 (cant find Adv version (torhead seems to think it has glance on it and Im looking at least at the blue version and its as follows): 26 End 34 Shield 13 Def (these stats would be slighting higher on the adv purple version mind you but this is all i have to work with atm) That would bring my Def down more but give me a larger boost in shield and absorb. Again this is where I am in need of help because im not sure how reliable Shield and Absorb is and how much it falls off at higher %'s. I would think that having Def higher is just a better outcome but thats where the combined knowledge of the Guardian forums come into play
  7. I'll shoot for that for sure. I guess I always thought armor was a given. It's just this shield/absorb I don't know about. If it was all into one stat (shield/absorb) I'd have no problem but since it's split I'm have trouble with stat priorities. I'm looking to max my effective HP and not sure if too much def rating is gimping me or if not enough shield/absorb is gonna gimp me; likewise having too much of shield/absorb might gimp me. Still might want to know what others think about shield/absorb so I can get an idea where to focus. Thank you ^^
  8. I've been trying to gear up for hard modes and Im having trouble with what I REALLY need as far as stats go. Currently I've been stacking items with your basic 'str/end/def' and a mix of random bonus shield/absorb/acc gear that has the prior three stats or a mix of the three. here is what my %'s look like ooc no buffs just in Soresu Form. Armor 6712 Dmg Reduction 48.33% Def Chance 23.92% Shield Chance 33.49% Shield Absorption 24.60% What that looks like is def chance seems low and so does absorption. but it doesnt all look 'bad' but then again Im not 100% sure so thats why I am here. Also I feel like Dmg Reduction is way too high cause I know somewhere it starts to have diminishing returns and I fear that I am close to that or way over it. then again I am not sure. What I have been thinking of doing is modify all my armor pieces with something like this: Armor - str/end/armor rating Mod - Str/End/Def Enhancement - End/Shield/Absorbtion Then with other ear/implants get a mix of it all with bonus of acc to make up for no other gear having it. I did notice that mods and enhancements have different values of their stats and mods (at least the ones ive seen) seem to have higher 3rd stat than the enhancements ive seen and enhancements have a higher 2nd stat. So it would be something like this: Mod: Adv Elusive Mod 22B 36 Str 21 End 27 Def Enhancement: Adv Vigilant Enhancement 22 30 End 29 Shield 15 Abs So those two would take up all of my Mod and Enhancement slots in my gear. I felt it was better to have a higher def than abs due to me not knowing how abs works 100% and with shield having a higher value - I still get a high chance to shield attacks and that absorb will be better than not having any at all (which I suspect to be a bad thing). Also the Enhancements have a higher end value so that will keep my HP pool higher for spike dmg. Only thing is Str in my mods seems a bit high but I believe that to be ok due to more str = more dmg = better chance to hold aggro (as an added bonus). sorry if its a bit hard to understand and sorry for it being a bit long. Ive just been worried about this and Ive been getting modifications for my armor and I want to make sure I'm not gimping myself before I get too many and waste mats/commendations. Thanks everyone!! P.S. I do not have access to the best of the best gear and atm this is what I my time and budget will allow. I did heroics with my setup I have now (have not done the change in mods/enhancements yet till i know whats best) and I got rocked on a few bosses ( hard mode taral v end boss/ hard mode esseles first boss to name a few) I just want to have better all around stats to better benefit my group and not strain my healer.
  9. This bothers me so much and I do not want to remake cause I love my twi'lek. I miss my headband and I hate my bald head when i equip hooded chests. I dont want to remake because of the time i have invested + i level with a friend and they will now have to wait on me. All I ask is for a BW post saying they are working on a fix. just so ill have the piece of mind that later ill have a hood or my headband back. I dont even care about a hood, i just want my headband so i dont look bald. I just want any type of fix and BW word they are working on said fix. please Bioware, help us, youre our only hope.
  10. I found out this happens two nights ago (last time i was able to play) and it bothers me to no end. I am thinking of rerolling cause i hate how my toon looks without a headband. I dont even want a hood but ill take one (with brain tails coming out of holes in the back of the hood or draped down the front of my toon with hood up) idc, I just want my headband back. I feel naked without it and I hate how my toon looks when its not there. I love twi'lek and want to stay one, just wish we could get a response if they are working on a fix for this and ill continue to play as one knowing there will be something later. halp us twi'leks! <3 EDIT: hide helm on/off option doesnt work to fix this.
