  1. I think it has to do with the fact that maybe they want to stimulate the economy. This game has easily attainable gear from comms, Flashpoints and pvp. By making this gear harder to get people might actually think about using the GTN for gear and crafters might actually be able to sell **** for once. I always though it was to easy to be self sufficient in this game. I don't think I have had to buy anything on GTN to date and that shouldn't be the case.
  2. playing on an LED flat monitor also helps.

If you have a CRT monitor of any kind, from any period in history then your game will forever look bad.

CRT Still has the some of the best color depth and blackest blacks if you can even find an hd one still in production. The problem with the tech was heat and size of the Cathode Ray Tube.

  3. There are no good names left when you randomise you name selection at the character creation screen! It's so annoying I have been trying to get a name for my character for ages and their all unpronounceable or taken. Anyone else think this? they need to add some names or something!

You could always think of one yourself or google baby names.

  4. I have, and I actually work for a benefits company. Anything longer then 5 minutes is deemed very bad. I call into tech services for equipment we run, and I have done so for FFXI and rift. Cable/phone/internet..never 3 hours. And thats 3 hours before I hung up..not before anyone actually answering.

14 hours..really doubt that..if you in deed fell asleep..if you didn't answer them..they would of just d/c you or through you back in hold.

Ive waited for CS for my cell phone company and my cable company for 4 to 5 hours before. I just throw it on speaker phone and go about my day.

  5. Which is why you have a beta. You dont need to have patience and understanding when you buy a game only to have end up being a paid beta.

Its not feasible to find every bug possible with the limited amount of people that beta test. Same thing with exploits, when you have 2 million people playing they will obviously find more bugs and ways to cheat the system then the 1000 or so closed beta testors ever could.

  6. Your issue is not a game wide problem, it is a server problem. Republic owns PvP on my server. So maybe you can explore why you want to argue that the game itself is broken just because you aren't enjoying your experience in pvp on your server.

    What server is this?

  7. Have you played WAR ? Have you played AoC ? I don't think you know what kind of troubles new MMOs can be in.

I must be easy to please because I liked both those games and was willing to stick around. Then no one else was and there was no point to play in a ghost town. I think people are impatient these days I played EQ for years and never had a max level character and was quite happy.

  8. It is pretty obvious that they wanted to cash in big bucks during the holiday season no matter what state the game was in. Some of my friends have sent tickets requesting for refunds but the clever customer service tries to act stupid and give unrelated answers. Seriously Bioware you have failed badly in making MMOs. Someone in your company should take responsibility and get fired.

Take your ball and go home son.

  9. Honestly, for a LOT of people, it's not trolling or anything. It's because they fear what TOR represents. What TOR represents is stagnation. Like it or not, TOR rips off WoW just as much as any other wow clone. But if TOR manages to be successful it will tell every other developer "oh look, all we need to do to get an easy cash cow is to copy wow and use a popular IP!" However on the flipside, if TOR were to fail it'd send the message that no matter what names you slap on your game, if it's a wow clone, it will fail. So by failing it will send a message throughout the industry that wow clones don't sell, and thus they may be inclined to actually try something else that might actually make money.

This is why even I am on the "please fail" train. I want new and unique MMOs, not rehashed wow clones with a new skin and voice acting. Sure I may be enjoying tor, but that's because I enjoy wow style games, they're a good timesink for a month or two. But I want the industry to progress and push forward, not just rehash wow for the next decade.

So yeah, just because people want tor to fail doesn't mean they're trolls or just haters, it's because they legitimately fear for the fate of the MMO genre.

This post is madness. Basically every pay to play MMO since 2004 besides Guild Wars and WoW has crashed and burned. If this game fails your going to see even LESS ambitious games because investors and by extension game companies will only fund ventures that they feel are safe bets to make money. This game is an extension of that.

Games that tried to be different like Age of Conan with its direction press battle system and WAR focusing almost entirely on pvp and public quests will not be given the green light ever again because those types failed. This is why this game is the way it is. They are playing it safe because any time any one tries something else it seems to fail. There isn't much incentive to break the mold when you could potentially lose millions. you either will get variations on the WoW formula or companies just won't bother making triple A MMO's at all if they keep showing they aren't profitable.

  10. I can't read that, even zoomed in. Besides, I am selfish and want to see a screenshot about Project vs. Shock.

K I stuck it on my university filespace now cause I think photo bucket is resizing it. But any way I asked if they new about ability lag as well as the animation lag between empire and republic mirrors and this is what the GM said so they are aware and still working on balance changes.
