  1. Well, technically, it's a blade of plasma housed inside shielding, but that's neither here nor there, it's still (functionally) weightless. Force-users are more adept with Lightsabers because of their inherent precognition that helps them to not cut themselves in half while wielding them because of the strange fashion wielding a weightless blade is. On that note, for a talented Force-user, the coordination would be a moot point, since your precognition and enhanced reflexes would, with training, negate the inherent flaw. Now, strength woudl still be an issue.
  2. Just a quick question, ErikModi from, say, the White-Wolf forums?
  3. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Vectivus Here's an example of an arguably good Sith.
  4. Right, I concede the Sith as an organization are evil, but waht it menas, at the core, to be Sith, isn't evil. What the Followers of Bogan, the Legions of Lettow, and the Sith were fighting for, a different use of the Force, isn't inherently evil. Now, like any long running establishment, the Sith has picked up many theories, practices, and interpretations that lend itself to the general view of 'evil.' But, Sith don't wake up asking how they can be evil today. They still hold onto that freedom, and their justifications, no matter how their actions deviate from the original path. Now, that kernel of original path still remains, and, but most get lost along the path.
  5. No, I'm not ignoring the path, they take different paths to the same destination, but the paths are very different. I stated that the Sith path is one of fire, pain, power, emotion, the Jedi are of contemplation, serenity, peace. They are not inherently good or bad, but the Sith lends itself to evil rather well. To follow that path and not get lost in the rush of power, to not falter and see it through, that is rare. The Jedi, also, get lost in their code, and in their doctrine. I evidence this by pointing out that the secret to unify one's self with the Force the Light side way wasn't discovered or taught by the Jedi, but by the Shamans of the Whills. Edit: Oh, and, pulling in Occult reference into a discussion about mysticism in a fictional settings, is fair I think. The two paths are reoccurring themes in human culture, and whether intentional or not, it mirrors them very well. Beyond, it wasn't the main point of my point, I explain my point above.
  6. It wouldn't be the first time a healing compound in a weapon was used in Star Wars. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Bacta_grenade Kolto and Bacta are miracle medicines. They interact in such a way with flesh that they promote rapid regeneration, and relieve pain. So there's precedence for it, just... it probably doesn't work the same way as the game shows.
  7. I figured I'd qoute myself from the OTHER thread similar to this;
  8. Are the Sith really evil? Yes-- and no. Most Sith are evil, and the philosophy of the Sith attracts the people who are predisposed to the personality traits that are evil. But, not all Sith are evil. It's more complicated than that. The Dark Side has been described as a cancer.... but, the Dark Side has always existed, as long as life has flourished, the Dark Side had to have been. Darth Plaguies states that midi-chlorians are necessary for life. Midi-chlorians are symbiotes that commune with the Force (as a whole) and selfishness and passions are natural for life. So as long as there are life-forms, a dark side exists naturally. The divide between Ashla and Bogan (Light and Dark, respectively) started on Tython, where species where brought to debate the Force, filled with Force Sensitives, a divide emerged, where they debated the benefits and dangers of both sides. In those days, there were good Bogans, those who saw passions as not evil, but, neutrality was espoused. One who went to far to either side was sent to the corresponding moon, and meditated on the other side. The Jed'aii code is as follows; "There is no ignorance, there is knowledge There is no fear, there is power I am the heart of the Force I am the revealing fire of light I am the mystery of the darkness In balance with chaos and harmony Immortal in the Force" Balance was the key, but, unfortunately, both sides couldn't keep balance, for a doctrinal war broke out, a mutual disagreement between the sides, and the Force Wars ensued. Afterwards, the teachings of Bogan were suppressed, from fear that others would tread the darkest path. This is the conflict that sparks it all, the eager learner who learns of Bogan, and feels that true mastery came from having passions, and not suppressing them, this conflict made the JEdi fear even more the Dark Side, for their own fell without causation. Next comes the Hundred-Year darkness, where Jedi Knights communing so deeply with the Force they could bend life. The Jedi Masters of the time feared the abuse that could come with the power to bend life, so sought to abolish it. The Jedi Knights resurrected the conflict that had been brewing, with the followers of Bogan, and the Legions of Lettow, and they fought to not be oppressed, and were exiled, these Exiles found the Sith species... and they stewed for thousands of years, the knowledge of all the oppressed knowledge, and wars fought... They never let go. This is the Jedi and Sith conflict, an ideological conflict, that really, is both sides fault. Because in the earliest of days, they couldn't get along. Like all conflicts good and evil are on both sides... but the Sith, naturally, stewed in vengeance, and never forgot, their philosophy isn't evil, but what they do with it is.
