  1. Until they fix this delay issue (and I believe they will), it's best to get in the habit of never trying to interrupt someone's action with Project. Force Slow and Sever Force are my favorites for this.

The one that I can't wrap my head around is running into a mob of Imps about to plant or disarm a bomb and using Force Wave and having none of them be affected by it. That gets really, really old.

  2. By and large I agree; I've found it all well balanced, for the most part. Sure, there are times when I'll grind someone into the dirt in a few seconds, but that's because they're not wearing expertise stuff. That's not indicative of how real fights go.

However, I'm very concerned with how powerful Operatives are. I'm not just talking damage output, here. Almost without exception, this is how fights with these guys go:

    1. I'm knocked to the ground for several seconds. By the time I stand up I've lost a third of my health.

    2. I stand up and do something to try to interrupt the attack. Depending on the situation it could be stun him, shield myself, knock him back, CC him, Force Speed and run away, et al.

    3. He, apparently not at all bothered by what I just did, stuns me again. By the time this wears off I'm typically below 20% health.

    4. I die.

These things occur in fewer than 10 seconds. I have the one GCD in which to defend myself, or possibly two. It doesn't matter. The outcome almost never varies.

I'm not sure how anyone could think this is a reasonable thing to put in a game. There's no one, no one at all, who I have a guaranteed win against. But these guys can shut me down like it's no big deal over and over. It's a little disgusting. That little anti-CC bar is meaningless. I don't even know why it's there.

  3. Are you being good about collecting and selling trash? Putting blues and decent greens up on the market? Not wasting money?

When I hit 50 I had the money to pay the 330,000 for the third speeder piloting. This is after having all but the last inventory module, 2 bank tabs, all training done, and leveling Synthweaving to 400 (with Archaeology and Underworld Trading a bit lower).

The training is perfectly reasonable. I suspect you're blowing money somewhere, or not taking enough in.

  4. Yes, leveling as a straight healer is possible. It's also painfully slow, though you have a margin of safety a DPS doesn't, as you can screw up and pull loads of mobs and still survive.

This was not a problem for me, since hitting Force Speed while shielding yourself and running like hell will save you from nearly anything.

As a 50 who put in significant time testing this idea that leveling as a seer is good...please, please, please, for your sake, don't buy that hype unless you're willing to kill mobs at half the speed of DPS sages.

The build I settled on, and used throughout most of my leveling, was 12 in seer and the rest in telekinetics. A HoT now and then is all Qyzen needs in most encounters, and that doesn't impact your DPS as much as normal healing spells.

I tested the other companions, but frankly they were all terrible except for Qyzen in most situations. I did find that Nadia worked pretty well coupled with a straight healer spec, but you don't get her until late in the game.

But seriously...seer is incredibly slow. If you're okay with that, go for it. There are definitely benefits to leveling as a healer.

  5. Dear Mr. Reid,

You've been (more than) diligent in your twitter responses and provided appropriate and sufficient information to us plebes. Although the technology itself deserves some credit, the stream of information from you has been better than most launches I've seen. I don't want to insert myself into your workflow, so I just thought I'd make a post rather than shout @you on "the twitter".

I can't imagine what kind of a crunch this week must be, but your public attitude is upbeat, rational, even friendly! Well-done, sir. I suspect there are plenty of others here that agree, and I hope they will chime in. Although it should go without saying, please ignore the rage-filled minority. People with a wider world view understand a slow, steady pre-launch is better than a cluster**** all-in-one, and will reflect better on BW and TOR.

Finally, I'm very sorry to hear you have a sick cat at home. I hope the little furface is feeling better soon. We love our furry little people, and seeing them in discomfort is made exponentially worse by the kind of schedule you are on now. My good wishes are with you both.

    PS - What day will I get access?!?! ( I kid, I kid :D )

    Well said.

  6. This is not a one of the Meany threads per second urging Bioware to reconsider, destroying their game with their utterly brain dead system.

No this is a thread about how i lost respect for them, I always held Bioware high in favor, saw them as a company who made games for the people, who got pleasure from their responses.

Now after all this farse, They wont even address people about the huge, amount of concerns and issues, which have risen from their anti progressive system. Things like naming, imbalance of levels, which will effect PVP, Impacts on the economy and rare boss loot been easily farmed.

These are just to highlight a hand full of genuine fear people are having, Yet Bioware and their CM's are Sweeping our issues under the rug! Even their CM on tiwtter is posting he will not answer, reply or even entertain comments about the EGA, THIS IS THEIR CM, what kind of company is this? THEIR CM ignoring complains.

As funny as it is to watch people like you go apoplectic about the tiniest things, you should probably relax a bit. Take a deep breath and remember that it's a game. A game.

The world isn't ending. I promise.

  7. I certainly have. Bad news sells better than good sadly. This launch has got to be a failure in most eyes of gamers.

The staggering thing was rather intelligent, the way that it was gone around not.

When ordering the game, they could of put one simple phrase : The earliar you pay, the quick you will play. If you order July 23, you will play on day 1 of EGA. If you order from December one you will lose out on 3 days of EGA.

It did not take a scientific genius to think of that. As I certainly am not. So why cant the hundreds who have developped this game didnt either?

It would of saved alot of rage, flame, trolling, bad reputation and alot of other bad words that my vocabulary doent help me with. I'm sure some of you can add some other feelings that you have felt.

The problem is, now they have kinda messed up for the majority of us, they are gonna have to be squicky clean on all the other aspects : Handling bugs, lag, account hacking, customer services, add-ons, patches, downtimes, queues, etc etc. If they are not carefull, this game will be a failure like the new final fantasy online was.

I hope that this is not a preview on how they will treat those who stay in the game on the long run. Only time will tell. A good initiative now would be letting everyone in before the 15th, and it will brush over, or simply give the ones that are in after the 15th 30 days free access, or something of the order will calm everyone down.

Something must be done to get some order amongst the gamers, they dont have too of course, but should do, for the health of this game.

I hope my trust will be built back over time so I can appreciate this game at its full content. I hope this game will blow my mind away and this is simply a fish slap in the face, hurst and smells a bit at first, but when you eat that fish well cooked, well its very pleasent!

    What are your thoughts?

Sorry for the wall of text, and if this is a QQ thread to some, it is simply my feedback and my experience on this launch.

I am also sorry for spelling and grammer mistakes, english is not my best writting language.

Hope to see you all in game soon.

    Regards, Odin

    ***** less.

  8. This is not fair to letting in peoples day after day. We players need the challenge and if someone starts on dec 18 or dec 20 then will be many high lvl players on the servers. So the whole community will have a bad taste in his mouth. So many peoples feel as time passes that i dont wanted this, i dont payed for this and probably many peoples decide to go back to their original mmo and dont live it for swtor. So i think this what Bioware is doing is a totally wrong thing :(

I dont wanna play before others i just wanna fair play for everyone and this inst it just now.

BIOWARE you are loosing money WAKE UP FAST !!!

The word you're looking for is "losing".

  9. During the Beta, I played BH and loved it too much to switch. So I rolled another BH as soon as I got home from work yesterday and skipped through a lot of the dialogue just because I've heard it already up to around level 15 (that's where I stopped at Beta).

After around 9 hours of play (from when I got home from work to the time I went to bed... With a couple breaks) I got to level 17.

There was absolutely ZERO lag. There were plenty of players online to quest with (PVP Server). But I can only imagine that the lag will get worse throughout the week.

You can honestly tell that BW did some cleaning up with the game. It just seems to run more smooth than the Beta. There were still a few UI bugs here and there, but I never became stuck in-game... I was never booted off the server... I was very impressed with it.

As far as staggering access goes... I can see where many of you might be angry that you didn't get it... But I think that it was a great idea to test their servers because the onslaught of people to come...

Overall I gave my first day experience a 9/10. (A point off because of a FPS issue here and there)

Just my 2 cents. I hope the rest of you get invited today!

    Duly noted, sir.

  10. as title says

and they have plenty of right to cancel there preorder.

because frankly, allowing people to gain a unfair advantage because being allowed to play before others, even though we all preordered, its disgraceful.

and i totally hope the people who cancel never buy these companies products again

Your English makes me cry. How about studying a bit as you wait with the rest of us? It'll be more constructive than your pathetically boring attempts at trolling.

  11. You made that choice - if you weren't happy about it, why did you make the decision to preorder?

The game's not going to be perfect. I'm sorry, but that's just an unreasonable expectation. It's a new game, an MMORPG at that.
