  1. yea cause seeing all those jedi riding rancors totally makes sense for their class. :/
  2. With all the new packs now offering the chance for a new pet-companion, I'd like to suggest that a future pack has the signature monster from Kotor as a pet-companion. It'd be perfectly in-line with a Sith character to have focused their efforts into creating a Sith creature designed to kill jedi/enemy force users.
  3. As everyone knows the 4pc bonus is laughable for SIN tanks. I'd like to suggest some better ideas/uses for the bonus. option 1 - If the PC drops below 30% health, overcharge saber gives an automatic/instant refresh (subject to a 2 min internal CD) option 2 - If the PC drops below 30% health, overcharge saber provides 50%-100% more health than normal when activated. option 3 - Use of wither/discharge (one or the other, not both) lowers the CD of force shroud by 2-4 seconds per activation.
  4. Title is pretty self explanatory. So, why do we have mounts like rancors, walkers, and all those other weaponized mounts yet we can't actually use them in combat? The combat could remain the same for characters, or the mounts could be given their own abilities (at BW's discretion). Let's make riding around on a massive rancor truly feel like the war-beast it is!
  5. a new operation is my guess (should have one for each new chapter released imo, even if it's a 1-2 boss ops)
  6. yes, I know how def and shield/absorb work. But as def and shield/absorb dont work against force/tech/internal/elemental dmg, then it doesnt matter how much of said stats you have, no matter how you gear. So, that's a moot point, and therefore, I fail to see how pointing that out (which I already knew btw) has any effect on what im talking about. Now, if you meant to say those spikey hits are from internal/elemental dmg attacks, then I could see the relevence to your post, but you havent made that claim.
  7. Now, I know the conventional wisdom is to load up your augments with absorb (atleast it was, last I checked) but with 4.0 out, the forums have been talking about really bad spikey hits from HM bosses of 75K dmg, which is pretty insane. So, it got me wondering, maybe conventional wisdom is wrong, in part or in whole.... My question is, in effect, shouldn't Sin tanks load up on more shield rating to help counter the spikey hits? Now, Im not a top tier ops player by any means, so I admit I'm speaking from a place of relative ignorance, but hear me out, before casting judgement... I'm currently in (mostly) 216 gear (some ops, some comm) and a few 220 comm pieces. My stats are 33% def, ~50% shield (with dark ward), ~51% absorb. This means there there is a 17% chance of taking full dmg from boss hits, ie 17% chance to get spikey dmg of potentially 75K! So, wouldn't make more sense to lower the overall chance of the spikey dmg outright? So, let's say I put all my augments as shield and got it to ~50% shield w/o dark ward, ie ~68% w/ dark ward active. Add in the 33% def chance and you have a 100% chance to mitigate damage from those HM bosses. Now, you'll be taking more dmg per hit overall, yes, but you won't be taking those dreaded spikey hits of 75k. With a good/consistant healer, wouldnt that be more effective at the end of the day? PS: once you hit this 100% mitigation point, if you had good enough gear (ie 220-224 ops gear), you could switch out the excess shield augments for absorb, for maximum effect, naturally. Thank you for your replies in advance! And please, no flaming, I already admitted to speaking from a perspective of ignorance, so I'm willing to be proven wrong, just dont be a jerk about it. Thanks again, everyone!!!
  8. Now, I know the OP stated that the tanking rotation stuff is outdated, but I'd just like to say that I've never used the rotation he's listed (played off and on since launch, with a large gap after the first year, anyhoo.) My rotation is shock > wither > thrash > shock > dep volts > maul (when proc'd) > ward > repeat. This rotation has always allowed for damn near perfect cd time for abilites, not to mention the reset proc of abilites like shock. IDK where he gets this saber strike, saber strike, stuff from and I never run into any issues with force.
  9. 100% agree with this, even if you did necro this thread. PvP'ers want an advantage in WZ's, fine by me. I come to your house, I play by your rules. The problem is, the open world is PvE territory, you know it and I know it, so in all fairness you should play by my house's rules, not be able to walk all over me in my own home.
  10. So, emotes like "yippie!" and the snowballs are ok, but not a taun taun sleeping bad, which did in fact happen in the SW films? I also question the notion that a twilek slave girl is not an appropriate pet for a sith, seeing as slaves girls are virtually everywhere in the SW film. Agree to disagree, I guess /shrug.
  11. I love swtor, I really do, but the game takes itself FAR too seriously. It needs some comic relief. So, I'd like to suggest fun items from the cartel market. Examples: Taun Taun sleeping bag: healing emote/item that places the PC inside a dead taun taun and you here the classic line, "And I thought... they smelled bad... on the outside..." when activated. Gungan beatdown: healing emote/item that produces a gungan who starts to say, "Meesa Jar Ja.." and before the gungan can finish, the PC tackles him and proceeds to beat the snot outta him. Twilek slave girl pet(s): twilek slave girls of varying colors/ethnicities clothed in slave girl bikinis following you around holding your drink. Click her and have random funny things happen like: Slap her and she'll say, "thank you sir! May I have another?" or say, "Is it time for another sponge bath, master?", etc etc. My Shwarts got twisted! emote: two-person emote/item that has said PC's lightsabers get entangled accompanied by the famous spoof's dialog. Fall on your face dance: emote that has the PC attempt to do a seductive dance only to fall on their face a few seconds in. Jawa/Ewok sled mount: a sled lifted/hoisted up by a small group of jawas/ewoks to get you around town. There are just a few ideas for some fun/funny items in the game. Please feel free to add any other ideas in the comments! Thanks in advance!
  12. Lana Beniko is incompetent, boring, and looks like she's suffering from drug addiction. Still, she's not as much of an idiot as Theron Shan. Please BW, please allow us to kill him in KotFE, and let us do it in front of Satale (for kicks).
  13. here's a small list of ideas for pets: combat animations/attacks: they do no damage but during fights your pet(s) will perform as attack animation. Would be easy to implement since pets are just mobs of vastly reduced size, so the animations are already there. Pets growing into companions: "feed" your pet, watch it grow into a loyal follower/companion. This one is a bit harder to implement obviously but still doable and highly immersive. pet interactions: add interactions for pets, such as making them fetch a stick, petting, feeding, kicking (if you're a jerk pet owner), etc etc. Buffs/bonuses/perks: pets increase credit loot drops (via sniffing them out, for example) by X%, or increase chance of rare item drops. Feel free to list any other pet ideas you may have in the comments as well! Thank you in advance.
  14. Name is fairly self explanatory. Let players build their own droid companions from the ground up. Let them pick a chassis, arms, legs/wheels/tracks, and head all with different bonuses (tank/dps/heals/etc) for a unique looking/functioning droid companion.
  15. 3rd'ed! Ive done all the world missions, dont feel any desire to do them again, but the class storylines are another matter. 12x xp for subs needs to stay, or atleast become a seasonal event held each year.
  16. I see good and bad things with an idea like this, but overall, as this game is now a few years old, I think overall the benefits outweigh the negatives. Especailly when you have characters that have completely outgrown basic comms and fully maxed in them and so the extra ones picked up via missions/fp's/op's are literally trashed by the game itself. when those same comms could be used on new characters to increase they levelling.

  18. For your consideration: I know that the expansion is all but finished, nonetheless, I think the game dev's need to remember that the game is still an mmorpg. While I'm thoroughly excited for them re-emphasizing class stories, they also need to emphasize the community/group-play. To that end, I'd like to suggest an alternative questing/mission style. Where to complete world quests/missions require a 4 player group (at minimum) to quest thru the world(s). You could still allow for those that want to quest solo to do so, just have an alternative world instance (think hardmode) for group play and make it matter that players work together instead of steamrolling content. This would be similar to game design of the final fantasy online games of yesteryear. They had a good idea but since they forced players to group without an option to solo, it made playing almost impossible for new players to explore the game. By allowing players the choice to run solo or grouped (HM) world instances, players could have both the story and the community building aspects of a truly great mmo experience! Thank you in advance for your time/comments/etc.
  19. Knockers, here's the thing, the players aka customers are what keeps a game going, blatantly disregarding the customer (the one's who PAY bioware's salaries) is poor business strategy and will only negatively effect their customer base. And no, 90cc is not a free transfer, it still costs, whether its a penny or $100, a charge is still a charge, especailly when its something that BW knows is an issue. I've paid for transfers, and I still think its bull. subscribers shell out $15+ a month for a game theyve already paid for, and BW response to unsatisfied customers is to pay more? That's total garbage, you know it and I know it. I love this game, but it's customer service/management is crap.
  20. Darth Sullus, Dark Council Elite Zabrak Male Age 32 Despite being born a slave, Lord Sullus is without pity or remorse. Firmly believing in the tenets of the Sith code, he finds those who submit themselves to others, slaves or otherwise, deserving of their fates or worse. In his mind, he is both an example and proof that where you begin in life and what you ultimately achieve are completely unrelated to one another. While he respects ruthlessness, he despises mindless bloodlust. Killing is but a tool to achieve power, to kill without wieghing the benefits is the action of a fool. Every life taken or spared is for one goal and one alone, achieving greater power. To this end, the Dark Lord has cultivated a terrifying cyborg army using a massive following of cultists who believe him to be a God capable of shattering the foundations of worlds by his will alone. These soldiers are loyal unto death, and enhanced with next generation cybernetics, pushing their physical limits far beyond those of normal peoples. He further reinforced his armies with Cathar tribes used as scouts, spies, and guerrilla soldiers having seen their skill firsthand during his campaigns of conquest. He has also authorized the construction and implementation of the most powerful weapon of the Sith fleet, the Silencer cannon. Capable of firing a destructive dispersal beam that obliterates all ships caught in it's wake. The first time the Silencer was used, was as both a show of force and an act of retribution against those who challenged him during his rise to power. Most notably the forces of the now deceased Darth Thanaton, a former Dark Council member himself, who's power and position now reside in Sullus' hands. Always seeking to push his limits, he actively engages is dangerous, secretive missions. Though he may attack from the shadows striking when the time is right, he nonetheless leads from the front, relishing the thrill of battle. His combined skills as a military tactician, combatant, and strong connection to the darkside has made him an elite even amond the dark council. likes: cunning, attacking the unprepared, imposing will on others, corrupting Jedi, twilek slave girls Dislikes: hypocrisy, cowardice, stupidity, hipsters especailly Theron Shan. Primary Stat: Endurance Secondary Stat: Willpower Weapon: Double Bladed Lightsaber Offhand: Shield Generator
  21. Seriously, the Jedi rejected you, and whether you want to admit it or not, you agree with the sith philosophy. But you constantly want to pretend you're some saint when you aren't. How about you just get with the program, go full darkside like you should have a long time ago and stop playing the innocent good girl (who happened to help murder her jedi masters for a sith)! *Come on, Bioware, she's the only companion worthy of being the SI's apprentice but the player never gets the pleasure of actually turning her fully dark, WTH is that?!?
  22. sith inquisitor - body 1 - whether you're a sorcerer or an assassin, your focus is the "mysteries of the darkside" so if doesnt make sense to have a large body on him/her. Even body 2 seems too big to me, maybe a 1.5 size would work if it was in game but no bigger than that IMO. Warrior - type 3/4 bounty hunter - 3/4 Agent - male 2/female 1 Jedi knight - body 2 consular - body 1 Smuggler - male 2/female 1/2 Trooper - body 3
  23. Havent played the SW story yet, but I 100% agree that Thanaton is a coward. He was all talk, every step of the way. He calls the SI out for a kaggath and runs, gets in a duel with the SI and runs, calls on the council to save his skinny ***, they say no, and he craps himself before the SI kills him. Just for the record though, my SI will beat the snot outta your SW.
  24. The title is pretty self explanatory. BW should really start to consider the benefits of allowing players to use their various characters (on a single legacy/server) as companions. They instituted the legacy "family tree" which is good in theory but in reality it has zero use or function. If a player's characters are supposed to be allies, siblings, parents, and children of one another, then doesnt it stand to reason they would interact with one another? Now I know there are some obvious programmings concerns but I think alot of those could be handled by using the abilities of already established companion characters. For example, a player has a sith inquisitor and wants to use his/her agent alt character as his companion. There are already a ranged dps (adronicus) and healer (talos) companion for the inquisitor. All the developers would really have to do is essentially cut and paste the standard companion(s) abilities to the alt. Heck it could be done even easier by using the companion's appearance customization slot, so the companion simply looks like the player's alternate character (if they wanted to go cheap on it). Another way would be to simply have the player choose which of the abilities they want the character to use and place them in a customizeable companion ability bar, much the same way we already do for the character your playing as, and simply let the companion AI go down the abilities list in the order they are listed in the abilities bar. Anyhoo, just an idea.
