    How about we just start handing out PVP rewards in FP's and Ops as well then? Like Every boss has a chance to drop a champion bag.

    want to craft? run a few hardmodes, otherwise deal with it.

     

    Pve or mis out , spoken like a pver , play my way.

     

    Why not remove all crafting drops from there pve, so they have to PvP to craft. See how dumb that sounds.

  2. Really? How many people are going to get fed up with the 2 WZ's where dots are important to stop caps when this change goes through? This game went from pvp kind of to easy mode pve with a hint of pvp. Also bag grinding, who is in favor of that. Oh boy if i sub for another 3 months maybe I will get all my pvp gear. Then after that I can stand around in fleet all day because there is nothing else to do. Alll in all these are not the fixes most pvpers wanted. You guys basically gave up on Illum, you made 2 WZ's which are bleh to begin with no easy mode and you gave us Hutt ball. So in the end we are left with a pve game that has no end game and a pvp game that has no pvp. Golf clap for the end of BW. I hope you guys are trying to find work with EA on their sports projects because BW wont be around much longer. Just look at what EA did to Mythic

     

    I'm with you. On most of it.

    They still have a chance before this game joins war rift aion and all the rest that think a clone of wow will work.

     

    If all the failed mmos over the last 4-7 years show any thing its that a MMO hast to have both good PvP and pve .

     

    PvP large fights 100 vs 100 with faction owned baces like DAoC has that run smooth.

    Pve with hard , omg hard , and your flipping kidding hard for the raid nuts.

     

    Mix DAoC with SWTOR with some very very hard raids and gg. If they can get it to run smooth.

    With a comment like that I don't know if your trolling, or never played a true PvP game, or you think wow, rift, SWTOR has a PvP game in it.

     

    At any rate you might think about making your self one as your nits if you think this is pvp.

  4. PvP shouldn't be about gear. The problems is that these themepark games use the carrot-on-stick gear grind to make up for poor, or complete lack of pvp design. Instanced, scripted pvp? No player owned anything? Gear trumps skill? No consequence to any PvP action? Virtually nothing in the open world?

     

    That's not PvP in the first place, that's a joke. It's how a PvE'er would design PvP.

     

    This,

    SWTOR or any other game like it has no pvp. It has a slap in the face.

     

    If you think this is PvP you have not played a true PvP game.

    UO, DAoC, Shadowbane=even full of bugs was a better PvP game.

     

    Wz are not pvp.

    Well iv bin playing MMO since 97, I have a very good idea what it takes. Pve is ok for a fresh new game. Its more then most get at the start.

     

    PvP is complete fail. War, rift, AoC (balance) , many more and soon to be SWTOR. All failed.

    Ask your self what SWTOR can do to stop from joining that list.

    As if they don't do something they will be on it.

     

    Say no all you like, so did the war, rift, AoC , and all the others. It didn't help them as the games died any way but your welcome to say we k.ow nothing.

  6. My guess - around July 20th they announce plans for an expansion pack, to try to bring everyone back to the fold, and keep the 6 month subs.

     

    We can only hope we make our voices loud enough to be heard over all the whining, and that a third faction and meaning to the planets we're supposedly fighting for somehow find their way into the expansion.

     

    July would be good , hell knowing they where working on something even remotely like tgis would be.

    Bring back subs , I think it might. With a solid.PvP system I think my guild would come back.

  7. I, too, was trying to get traction for a third faction and real RvR, and having an impact on the galaxy with our efforts. I support your ideas.

     

    To be realistic though, a third faction could only be expansion material, it will take a long time to develop.

     

    Most if not all of this would need to be a xpac, no getting around it.

    They need something , we all know they do.

    Cost of the xpac vs the cost of subs we all see dropping . It's worth this xpec to me any ways.

     

    In the end we need something like this , its up to BW to listen and us to speak up.

     

    Pve and PvP as most do both at least to some degree.

     

    Keep it up and this alive , they just might see it.

  8. Sure the pop decreased. This happens with alot of new games. Sadly though with how alot of people are now ( impatient a.d.d. riddled ) no MMO is going to survive.

     

    I blame WoW for this. As much as people bash the game, it also set a standard for what new mmo gamers expect in a launch MMO. They expect 5+ years of WoW type content crammed into whatever new mmo is being launched.

     

    Same thing is going to happen with GW2 & whatever new mmo comes along. Its the new breed of 'gamers' that are causing this.

     

    Happens with single player games even. Game B is released with a good amount of content, long storyline, side quests, etc. Mass of 'gamers' rush out and power through the game in a week, then complain @ the company for not releasing more content sooner.

    SWTOR is dieing , wow has nothing to do with it.

    SWTOR is ding because BW/EA has no clue it seams.

    The list of games EA has jacked up is longer but I think you get the point.

    SWTOR has from a pvpers poi.t of view a grate pve system. But the PvP is a joke .

    EA could of added a DAoC PvP system that players would of loved , we got Illum , just sad.

    2 faction system after what they seen in war. They knew the war team was bad but used them any ways.

    You would have to be brain dead as a developer, producer to not see that war died because of the dev team.

    My question is why would Ea use a dev team that added ToA to DAoC the xpac that killed that game. move them to war and let them kill it before it even got off of the ground, then have that same team do pv in SWTOR?

     

    SWTOR is as doomed as war was. Has all along. We just won't it not to be. I did any ways.but pve as cool as it is....not all a game needs to be.

     

    We need PvP not some war zone. DAoC style PvP with a balanced faction system ie 3 factions.

    We need a pve system for the pver.

    Pve player most of them any ways, PvP at least some.

    And

    PvP players most of them pve at least some.

    You can not leave one or the other and be a top hit MMO. It takes both.

  9. Nice idea, but yeah .. too late.

     

    A third faction WOULD be awesome but it may also lead to not merely Imperials rolling a new toon on it but also current Republic players so may end up just being Imperials v. the new faction and the Republic being completely left behind, despite them obviously being integral to the game.

     

    The fact is, BW did a bad, bad job of making the pubs appeal in the first place.

     

    Very true, but even if the 3 rd faction turned out to be the big bad monster , imps and pug could temp team to take them down when needed.

     

    But every one is right BW will not do this and PvP will be a joke a year from now. That should not stop us from trying as I'd like to see this game be more then just a pve game.

     

    As for server loads and the game handling it. Ya its bad, but in Illum 50pubs and over 75imps I can run fine other then the first jump from load lag.

     

    I run gfx at low no shadows and tags off. Seams to work good that way for bigger fights

    I'm just sick of Illum and its got to the point in random open world I can run around looking and not see any one for hours on even the low level planets.

     

    And my server is one of the higher pops left , Valker highway .

  10. I like the idea of Space Station battles and open world objectives on every planet, but other then that, I disagree.

     

    A lot of the ideas you have are good and might be fun, but they would take away from the base concept of this game. This is Star Wars. There are always two major sides. Empire at War tried a third faction and it turned out feeling like a Starcraft wannabe.

     

    Star Wars has amazing, epic battle moments without the need of dramatic third person fluff like in almost every other sci-fi movie, game, or other. I signed on to play Star Wars. Everything else is secondary.

     

    And don't get me wrong. I'm a PvPer at heart. I'd rather pvp for 6 hours straight just queueing for warzones then do one quest. But I joined this game so I could be a part of the next Star Wars saga. Not another wannabe ripoff like galaxies that tried too hard to fit everyone into the original movies.

     

    I'm with you on the star wars ip , but how do you balance imps vs pubs .

    The easy way is a 3rd faction. It's just a idea ,one I do not think BW will even look at short term.

    I'd just like to know they have plans like this even sort of for PvP. Not just more of the same wz PvP as I'm sick of them.

     

    The pve in this game is by far the best iv played. but its not all my main gaming focus.

  11. There is no PvP by design. SWTOR is not a PvP game. It's pretty obvious when leveling (phased zones, sanctuaries, etc) that Bioware wants you to only PvP in a box: warzones or Illum.

     

    The system described in your other thread sounds great. Unfortunately, it would require a major shift in design focus and resources.

     

    No triple-A game maker will take the kind of risk required to move development resources away from PvE experiences to world PvP. The perception out there right now is that MMO PvPers aren't a large enough market to guarantee any kind of ROI.

     

    I love your ideas, but that game will never be this game.

     

    BW sold this game as having a top notch PvP game .

    I'm still looking for it lol

     

    I just don't see the risk. I know they lost the 50subs of my guild. I'm all that's left over the lack of pvp.

    Are ally guild has 5 members left.

    The sever loads are light I'm times they had full .

    The risk I see is more of the same.

  12. Look if DAoC was so great it would still be around.

     

    They are not going to rework the whole game because 1 person says that they should. Yes they would need to reqork the entire game in order to have a 3rd faction come into play and this would have to take into account PvE otherwise it would make no sense whatso ever.

     

    Lmao DAoC is around , I have a sub for it and still play.

    Well let's see is it just me saying this or are the forums full of PvP sucks .

    Have they lost a massive amount if subs? Is that not in its self a statement

    lets list a few games that have not did PvP right , and just did the wow clone wz and PvP.

    Aoen or what ever it was called

    War tryed to do a good job with PvP but failed.

    There are more and more still that tryed to do just PvP.

    In years past this worked. It no longer will.

    Games make it or brake it in the first few months.

     

    I like this game as a pve game but I need more to hold me and do do the masses.

    You are no different then the fan boys with the listed games that might as well never came out. Blind.

  13. I too played DAOC for about 6 1/2 years. It is hands down the best implementation of PvP I have ever seen in an MMO. If SWTOR could emulate a fraction of what DAOC offered then I could honestly title SWOTOR king of all MMO's.

    I would love to see a third faction introduced, but more importantly I would like to see battlegrounds or wide open PvP, with space stations (instead of castles), siege weaponry, and ZERO forced objective or timed arenas (you stay in the battleground with the same people for as long as you want). DAOC's BG's were great as you leveled up, but the best part was the larger frontier areas where the big boys played.

    I seriously think swtor has the ability to move in this direction. If the mass population played DAOC they would understand how amazing the pvp in this game was (but yes...the pve seriously sucked). I have played a tremendous amount of MMO's (since the original release of EQ1) and I get bored after a time and move on. I never got bored of DAOC because of the pvp. WOW grabbed my attention for a few years but ultimately I did not like the direction the PVP headed. If swtor can improve the pvp past simply "queing up and joining an objective arena" then I think I will be playing for the next 5+ years. If they keep the pvp as it is now, then I will be bored within a year and will keep "Titan" on the horizon. They have the ability, the vision, and the creative staff. I truly hope they make pvp more than just these "arenas", and make it a meaningful, epic, experience where being a part of the "Empire" or "Republic" actually meant something.

    You know I use DAoC as a bace for PvP systems. I use there system in my other post as its the best there is.

    As is we have a joke of for PvP. Wz are ok the first 1000 times but get old fast.

    DAoC PvP never did .

    I'm not asking pve players to PvP just that BW give the pvpers something as nothing would be better then what we have.

    What gets me ic why even pver players would not won't a better PvP game as pvpers pve to , giving the game a bigger player bace.

     

    Bringing in more subs , more pve for them and more PvP for me. More players to play with to.

    Bioware knows the pvp is somewhat lacking and said there looking at it... give them time djeez don't act like your idea is the "fix".

    There is no PvP system other then wz as Illum is not inany way a PvP system its trash.

     

    I do know a good PvP system when I see it. DAoC is by far the best ever done.

    DAoC had trash pve, but the best PvP. How could you say adding the pve of SWTOR and PvP of DAoC into one ne a bad idea.

     

    Each to there own, I found wow PvP to be every bit the joke that war rift and all the other clones.

    SWTOR atm has no PvP system worth a ****..

     

    Time is something they do not have .

    Look at server loads and tell me how they have it right

    No map hacks

    No stick to there back hacks

    Nothing

    I have seen exploits.

    Planting bombs before the wz starts

    /stuck in Illum

    Iv seen things like that but bugs are just that bugs, they will be fixed.

     

    The one bug I don't know if they will fix is the lack of a 3rd faction.

    Iv reported the 3faction is not working at all but they don't seam like they care.

    If they would fix this and many other parts of cc rest 90% of the sorcs are op, cc is op threads would go away.

     

    After the first stun/root/mez you should have a 80% resistance to all for 10 seconds, if you are hit with a nother stun/root/mez with in that 10 seconds you should get a 100% resistance for 20 seconds or something like that.

     

    With a cc system like that you can't have 5 stuns and or roots hit you back to back.

  17. After reading that guys post in your thread I did some research yea 250k subs at peek and it fell off quick. While at the same time EQ reached 450k. DOAC was EQ main rival but it lost a PvP centric game lost to a game that had PvE+PvP. Why would a company ever repeat that mistake and go hardcore PvP MMO again? Not many have repeated it since then.

     

    PvE>PvP from a business stand point. Not saying that PvP crowd isnt important it is but PvP crowd is delusional. I wouldn't call 250k a success in raw numbers back then it was but not today that number is terrible. People still play EQ dont they and SWG so what DOAC still has 5k subs still. I bet those same people have another MMO installed on their system.

     

     

    FF XI reached a peak of somewhere between 200-300k so yea

     

    As I'm not asking them to drop the pve , my link in the op lays out what they could do how would the be going PvP only .

     

    My idea is to take what they have now in game the same classes , same PvP system and reuse it.

     

    Add a level 50 quest to change realms , once per toon . Add in a few planets space stations and a few baces.

     

    It's already in game . Just reuse what's there.

     

    As for giving up, if I do that it will be to go back to DAoC as if this is what PvP is going to be then ill play each class story and move on like so many others. As the PvP now is a joke.

     

    If we don't ask , then tell them we will get nothing more then what we have.

     

    The devs will do one of 2 things.

    Ride the game until its dead like war

    Or

    Start making changes, Like this .

     

    Even if its a xpac 6 months down the road. It's worth asking for.

    Myself and many others play this game for pve not pvp! Your whole thread about it would turn this game into a pvp based game and would ill it just as daoc is dead now!

    Even in its haydays daoc could not even pull half of what other pve based games did. DAOC capped out at 250k subs while eq pulling a little over 500k subs.

     

    Do what ever you want to with the pvp based servers but leave our pve servers alone!

    ATM pvp and pve servers are identical with the exception of pvp flagging. So i dont see them radically changing one server type with out do the other!

     

    Wow , so as your not a pvper they should just not have a pvp game for us that are. Wow

    How would adding in a good PvP system stop your raiding in any way.and DAoC is dead when your talking numbers but by far still the best game made to date and 12 years later still has paying subs. This game has lost what seams to be 1/2 there subs in just a few months.

     

    Look I'm not asking you to PvP but your saying kill PvP because you dont like it.

    DAoC pve was lacking , this games PvP is trash.

    If you put them together you would have the all time best game ever made.

    With the very good pve SWTOR has and DAoC PvP by far the beat ever system .

    It's win win that way as you have more subs the game lasts longer. More to PvP with for me and pve with for you.

    As PvP players might not be hardcore raiders we still pve. And most pvers PvP at least some.

    DAoC and eq are not even the same type if game . At least SWTOR claims to have a top PvP system . Eq was to a few a grate game . Not to my liking but some liked it. But DAoC had more subs if I remember right. I don't feel like looking it up so you might be right.

     

    ToA killed DAoC . But the game with its 5k subs is still there . Still the best PvP system out ever.

     

     

    Ps what is it you would do, as the sever loads have droped from full to light 80% of the time.

    And at most they are hitting standard.

     

    I hardly see Amy one in open world. Is that a good thing?should we just keep doing more of the same as its totally working right?

    How's your pve game going to look when the games is dead 6. Months from now.

  19. Ok , some yw we have to get the devs to do a better job with PvP.

    More WZ is not the way. Server pops are dropping fast, q's are getting longer.

     

    More of the same is not what we need or won't.

    We need a 3 realm system.

    Malgis, rivenites, separatists, huts, exchange, any would work.

    I don't won't to go back to DAoC . So please take a note from DAoC and give us a PvP system.

  20. Maybe instead of all of the useless tripe that comes up over and over we give bioware a fair chance to fix stuff. This game is less than 60 days released.

     

    1.) Classes. Yes, some imbalances. (do not quote 1v1 crap)

     

    2.) Ilum. Yes needs some re-tooling. (don't hate, give it a little time to balance)

     

    3.) World/Theives Den PvP, more of it (according to some)

     

    You have to be joking, once years ago a game had time to get there **** together. No longer.

    In todays MMO you have max 3 months.

     

    1.2 I just don't see being what is needed.

    We need a 3 faction system.

    We need DAoC style sieges not this junk Illum crap.

    We need realm bonuses for holding the DAoC style siege baces.

    We need a DAoC style pve/raid/PvP dungeon like darkfall was.

     

    1.2 will have none of it.

    So

    We need a new PvP team working on this game.

    The only way to get something like this is for bw to take note of it, and for tjem to take note we need 100s of players posting not just the 20ish that camp the PvP forums.

     

    Its the only way they will look at it.

     

    Hell I have turned Illum in as a bug report a few times as there us not way its working as intended

  22. Flat out prevent them from casting heals/shield while in DPS stance or make them take 2x as long to cast them or something. these Sorcs doing 500k Dmg and Healing at the same time is just ridiculous.

     

    Same with tanks, take away there weapons when in defence stance. Mercs the same as sorcs , snipers should not be able to use weapons when in cover. Hmm ops should not be able to stealth and dps or heal and stealth.

     

    Better yet remove every class in the game. Put in one class that has one skill that hits for 1.dpm not dps as that's just op.

     

    But before you do that ask the op if its the 1dpm class he wonts to play as if its not it will be a op class and need fixed.
