  1. Greetings Spencer and nice to meet you, I'm Jason. Hope you continue to have fun and find the guild and good group of people you're looking for. I play with a couple of great ones myself and it does make the game a lot more enjoyable.
  2. Well G'day to the land down under and well met, my friend! Happy to hear that you finally got the game and hope you enjoy playing it. As for advice, I'd say just dive in and have fun with it! No better way to learn then to get your hands dirty and experience everything you can. There's also plenty of well written and helpful guides for new players around here as well if you want to check those out.

Have fun in a galaxy far far away.

  3. Hey, everyone! Just thought I'd stop in for a second and say howdy on my way out for the morning. Been a while since I have browsed the forums, let alone posted something. Hope all is well and you're enjoying the game. Well that was all, just a friendly hidy ho good neighbor and I must be off again.

    .

can barely stand my gunslinger...cover mechanics look like Gears of War after a hangover...you aim the darn thing to a physical cover, you see the green outline, you press cover and the char drops portable cover instead in the middle of a group of mobs...then you have your trusted sidekick who although plays a tank role has a longer range than you do so he proceed to tank BEHIND you, and if that wasn't bad enough, he pulls the mob behind your cover. Priceless...

That's why I played a scoundrel, so much easier then having to worry about cover. Just go in toss a few grenades, quick shot one, backblast another, blaster whip the last one and then High-Five Corso on a job well done. All the while discussing who's buying the first round back at the cantina and which one of us the waitress was winking at, as we head to the next pack of mobs.

  4. Hey Dan, I'm Jason, nice to meet you, my friend. Hope you enjoy this wonderful game and have fun. You're never to old to have fun, so don't grow up if you don't want to.

Oh and keep on trucking! Sorry, couldn't resist.

  5. Hello Missy, nice to meet your acquaintance. Most people around my parts call me Jason, among other things.

To answer your question, I have a feeling that most people are busy having fun in the game to stop by and do much posting. I happen to be one of them, I mainly only log on now to check my pms.

  6. Hey everyone! Been spending most of my free time in game and haven't stopped by in a little bit, so just thought I would come in and give everyone a howdy. Hope you're all doing good and having fun in the game?

Ok, so finally got to try out my Jedi Knight since my wife's laptop is working now and we managed to play together. Now that I sampled it I want to play it more and she doesn't have mucj time so I had to do what I was hoping I wouldn't...made another JK. That means that eventually I'll have 2 max lvl tanks of the same class... :p

Congratulations on getting her computer fixed and getting to play together, my friend! May the force be with you both. You're also still doing better then me. I plan on making two of every class, just so I can see the different AC classes and try different storyline options. lol Luckily for me, I'm playing with a group of fellow altaholics, so we just keep re-rolling together.

  7. I'm starting to wonder if the Empire players aren't taking their "bada*sness" a bit too seriously...they seem so unfriendly...I even did a small test (yes, I know, too much time on my hands) but I buffed 100 different people (might have hit the same person once or twice, but still) in each of my characters so far and took notice how many people returned the "favor" (not counting groups)

I must be the world's worst sith then. I buff everyone I come across and if they buff me first, I not only buff them back, but then hang around to help them with whatever the next mob they fight is. I also will jump in and aid anyone who looks like their health is dropping to much during a tough fight.

Then again, I tend to be more sarcastic and humorous in my storyline replies, then straight out evil. Vette seems to love me though, I think she just secretly has a thing for bad boys who are to sarcastic for their own good.

Sith Lord: "Finally they sent someone powerful to aid me." Me: "Actually, I'm just here to take a look at the plumbing." <---That's how most of my grand evil dialogue options go. lol

  8. Hola.

    Hola, mi amigo! Coma esta?

I apologize if that didn't come out quite right. It's been quite a few years since sophomore Spanish class. lol

EDIT: Didn't actually mean to double post here, wanted it all in one post but messed up. I apologize.

  9. they'd let the cows loose in the field and watch them jump around and dance. do your cows dance? i've never seen any do that.

Kind of, I think I know what he's referring to. Towards evening time around here, when it's getting towards feeding time and they're getting ready to head back to the barn, they will get up and buck around wildly. Kicking their back legs in the air and tossing their heads around. It's just to get rid of pent up energy and have some fun on the run back to the barn. But when you get around twenty of them doing it at once, it does start to look like some kind of giant dance off.

They sometimes will do it after feeding as well, if let back out into the field. It's mostly the younger stock though, the older ladies are to reserved to be seen thrashing around like kids. lol

  10. This part of "not noticing, when someone speaks to you" is SO true. Yesterday, in my server, the general chat turned into a true Barrens chat full of jokes about WoW and Russians. And whenever I wanted to talk to my group members I had to keep scrolling up like a madman. :(

Before I head off, I'll give a tip I use in all my games, in case no one else knows about it. What you do for that is create new "tabs" for your different chats. Click on the chat tab and click ont he create new chat tab or whatever the exact word is they call it and then open the options for it and deselect everything but the few chat options you want for it. So if you want one only for party chat, create a chat tab and call it "party" and then only have the party chat options selected for it. Then make one for whispers and guild and whatever else you want...Each tab sits on the overall chat bar, so it doesn't take up anymore room on your screen and you'll never miss a party chat or whisper again.

  11. Yeah, I was getting buffs left and right as well. I never thought about the fact that we're all the same class and my buff was actually redundant. lol I feel kind of silly now for stopping and buffing everyone I met.

My gripe also is, and it could just be that I haven't figured it out yet. But the zoom as well, it didn't seem like I was able to zoom that far out at all. Is there any kind of; way zoomed out, almost overhead view at all? I couldn't get my camera to go very far past the back of my shoulders and it all seemed kind of crowded to me, like I had lost all my peripheral vision.

Oh well, other then that it was really fun and I enjoyed the few hours I got to play of it. Can't wait to do some more tonight when I get back. Speaking of tonight, I really thought I could tough this out and stay up until maintenance was over, but I think I'd head off to bed instead. I should probably get a few more hours of sleep before the day starts.

Goodnight everyone! Or Good morning, depending on where you all are right now in this lovely place we call a world. I'll see you around, have fun and enjoy.

  12. So why are you up this early Bub?

My day/night cycle shifts depending on what I have to do and when I'm doing it. I don't usually sleep all that much anyways. I'm also playing on a West Coast server with my friend, so it's easier logging in later at night now, to avoid some of the congestion. Although waiting 30 minutes in queue gives me time to catch up on my sleep. lol

I've also noticed, that many people really do understand that not all of us have played MMO's that much - some never. I for one am not that social person and really need all help I can get when on group missions, as I before have allways soloed.

I friggin' love this game :D

Yeah, whenever I saw someone that looked like they were having trouble with a mob, I'd always stop and help them out and throw out my character buff as well.

  13. I had a blast with the game, from the little bit I got to play before maintenance. It's running a little bit sloppy on my older rig right now, but that will all be fixed once my new computer gets here.

Sounds like you had a good time, my friend and met some really nice people. I've been playing with one of my friends and so didn't have to worry very much about finding random people for groups. But from what I saw, most seemed to be alright. I even got a "thank you" for buffing someone. I did however shut off general chat the moment I got into the game, so can't really say what the overall feeling of the community was though.

Now I'm just hoping maintenance ends soon so I can get a few more hours in and finish up the starter world before I have to head off for the day. I would try sleeping right now, but thoughts of Star Wars are running through my head. lol

  14. Well I had my first laugh/facepalm moment earlier.

My friend and I were running around Korriban collecting a datacron thing and she ran out onto this bridge, with a drop off and stopped. I followed after her and thinking that at most it was just a small ledge and she was only waiting for me to catch up before jumping, I went charging by and recklessly launched myself off the end of it. Only to my surprise and dismay to realize that the "slight drop" was actually what appeared to be about a 500 foot plummet to my death.

Needless to say all I could do was shrug my shoulders and laugh about it, as the mighty Sith Pureblood warrior, the chosen elite, died to his own stupidity. While my dear friend preceded to remind me that I was an idiot and promptly turned around and took the safe way back.
