  1. Dang, well written... A large part of my pre-order was too get all the names/legacy name I wanted. My server is totally dead, I'm assuming when transfers or merges happen I'll have to rename everything I own. Communication is key like the OP is saying; but quite honestly I'm not sure If I will be staying to use my free month. Too make this game ideal for myself and many others it would require major re hauls of pretty much every major system. Some items on my disappointment list are 0 world pvp, character animations/abilities are based on faction not force alignment, unimpressive character creation, extremely instanced world...literally the whole game is a series of load screens, no adventure, story is very linear, 4 wzs dont cut it for me, extremely pg-13 atmosphere, space combat...why is it here?, Legacy is a myriad of uninteresting fluff, item acquisition is just a series of grinds, half a year in this title is missing an atrocious amount of standard features pretty much every other competitor offers, the list goes on. I just don't have faith in Bioware anymore.
  2. BW, why delay the transfers until early summer? Many servers, including my own are already dead. Here are some screenshots taken today on Trayus Academy (EU). The time is GMT+2, which covers most of Europe.

11:12 AM, alone on Imperial fleet http://i.imgur.com/S9iKE.jpg

14:15 PM, 63 people online on the entire server http://i.imgur.com/SGC0u.jpg (republic) and http://i.imgur.com/ctAEW.jpg (empire)

As level 50, it is impossible to play a Warzone before 5 PM. Between 5 and 8 PM queues range from 15 to 30 minutes, and are only decent (10-15 minutes) between 8 and 11 PM. There is always only one Warzone taking place at a time on the entire server, so if more then 16 people are in queue, you might miss it and have to wait until it ends, praying you won't miss the next.

Even at prime-time, we never have even 200 players online server-wide. Usually there are around about 100 on empire side and 50 on republic. Once again, I'm not talking about people on fleet, but about people on THE ENTIRE SERVER. I can provide screenshots for this later tonight, if needed.

Honestly, how can playing with less then 200 people on a server even be considered a MMO? There are many singleplayer games out there with far more then 200 people at a time playing multiplayer.

So Bioware, why wait until early summer with the transfers? There are many server which badly need it now, after the free 30 days will be over they will be completely dead because no sane person will pay to just stand around on fleet for hours doing nothing.

This, yes I realize you gave us a free month too pad your sub loss for your reports. I guarantee you I wont be using it unless we get server transfers in the next two weeks. Honestly why do I even bother logging on. Also I suggest giving the players some kind of after char creation editor to keep us happy. In the char creation tool on republic side ur under a bright light; I thought i picked the skin tone which matches mine in RL, in game its way darker...just give us an after creation editor...

  3. GW2 by a country mile. Been playing the last two days and it is utterly superb.

I was only waiting for that to see if it was worth keeping my sub on SWTOR. Decision made.

My first MMO was UO and it was the 1 I liked the most. Been waiting for something to fill that gap since 98. Someone specifically said GW2 was the answer...pumped. Care to elaborate on what makes GW2 so superb? Im looking for more information on gearing, open world, and combat.

  4. Next gen must not necessarily mean that you have a crazy new invention - next gen can also mean "doing it right".

WoW was next gen in 2004 since it took all the features from previous mmos and combined them to make the most successful mmo in history.

GW2 now takes all the good stuff from the 2004-2012 mmos and puts it together correctly.

I remember when I played the Swtor beta and the first quests sent me on "kill x of this", "collect x of that" quests. And I thought "Oh..I know this already". In GW2 I also recognize the features from past mmos, but the whole package plays faster, feels less grindy and really shines in every aspect. Not once did it feel grindy or tiresome so far.

It also puts the "massive" back in mmo. Except for my class story I have not done a single quest alone so far.

Back top playing the beta while it lasts....game looks good, I think we might be heading for an early summer release.

I hope so, there is 0 adventure in swtor.

  5. I played the beta this weekend. Guild Wars 2 stomps SWTOR on all levels except some minor PvP annoyances.

this. swtor is dead, these fanboys are the last remnant of it's playerbase...ofcourse they are loyal to swtor. from what ive seen guild wars 2 is an evolution of this stale genre, while swtor is a step back from many games that have been out for years. the few ppl i know playing gw2 right now confirm my sentiment whole heartidly. i can say with confidence I probably wont be using the free month given to me...thx anyway i guess bw?

  6. I am not going to go into specifics but there are issues facing dozens of U.S. Servers atm. There are several threads you can discuss those in. I am frustrated that content we were promised was put off, the test server isn't back up, and 90% of the Devs attention atm is Europe, Middle East, and Asia. The rated warzones being pushed back and the servers population status has made this game very unappealing to me atm.

I am glad the rest of the world is getting to experience SWTOR, but can't help but be frustrated at the lack of communication regarding the game breaking issues facing us here. The only communication we get is vague, "In the Future", "We are looking into it", "Some ways away".

Hopefully the Devs will make the U.S. server issues their real priority at some point, with daily communication about whats happening with them and what they are going to do to fix it.

    lol! your onto something dude!

  7. oh my.....we get a taun-taun. hmprh! I must have missed this somewhere along the ways.

eppp /raises hand....excuse me:) umm hurry up with the transfers pls:)

This, give us transfers. You have given us a free month so my subscription will technically be active but I will NOT be renewing unless I'm super 'wowed' super quick. Transfers are needed like next week; It's shocking to see my fleet break 20+ ppl at any time.

  8. Because the free 30 days doesn't happen until after the financial report, they did it that way specifically for the doom cryers.

    Nice try.

Stop posting every two seconds. Anybody with eyes can see that not too many ppl play this game anymore; there are websites talking about the declining subs. Due to overzealous time purchases many accounts are still active but are the players active in the game at this point? No not really, we need server merges asap.
