  1. I finally got it after 20-ish tries. I hotkeyed Vette's attack button, and that got me through a few close calls.
  2. Half my gear is 208, the other half is 216, and my mainhand is 220. I understand that's more than necessary. This is the most trouble I've had with this game in quite some time. I haven't wiped this many times against a single enemy since like, 1.2.
  3. After a dozen attempts, this SOB's Pulse Charge makes me want to shatter my rather pricey gaming peripherals. Google has been useless, so here's hoping. As a melee tank, I have to take 2-3 seconds to back far enough away from the Doom Droid so I can CLICK on the probes (I blame the shoddy game engine there). When I finally have one targeted, I try and mash my companion (Vette, Influence 33, Healing spec) to attack a separate one while I get another one. Half the time she doesn't attack, or I can't tell. I can usually make it through one wave, but only with a Heroic Moment. If I switch Vette to damage, either she doesn't last long, or I don't. The Kolto stations don't refresh like they do in Flashpoints, right? Another infuriating thing is you don't have a countdown meter for the pulse charge, so you don't know how long of the ridiculous 20 seconds you have left. So what am I doing wrong? I'm a completionist when it comes to this game, and I'd probably unsub for a few months rather than walk away from this quest.
  4. I believe the OP is abhorred by the fact that some people enjoy theme park MMO's over sandbox ones. There's good reasons why I left Eve Online for this game, remained subbed since launch, and will never go back.
  5. I noticed under the Featured tab that the Grade 7 Offensive Bundle has a nice discount, but looking through all the other tabs, I can't find the other two Grade 7 bundles? Am I doing something wrong? If it's under the Equipment tab, I'm pretty sure there's some kind of menu bug or I just don't understand how the "next 10 pages" button works. The "previous 10 pages" is never available for selecting, and the only item on the "next 10 pages" is the Gamorrean Axe, but I believe it makes the first page of the Equipment tab inaccessible. Does it also make the Grade 7 parts unobtainable, or are they no longer on the Market except for being Featured?
  6. Glad I found this on the front page, that means there's support for it. Yes, I fully agree with a solo option for ALL Flashpoints. Because five times this weekend, I queued for a FP, and four times, we got grouped up and ONE always declined. I'd rather experience the content alone than not experience it at all. That's it in a nutshell. That will keep me replaying this game over and over.
  7. I've completed two more companion storylines, but the Heroic Moment cooldown won't go down lower than 15 minutes. I'm guessing that's as low as it can go?
  8. Yep, that's it. Thanks, I had a companion mission untracked from months ago.
  9. Just completed the Smuggler class story. I'm Level 50, and have Corso's affection at 10000. But no conversation prompts have come up, and the Legacy icon hasn't popped up as completed, so I know there's still more. Do I need to progress on Ilum, or have I hit a bug?
  10. ...that TOR was setting itself up to be the greatest failure in MMO history. I refused to believe it. I have leveled 2 characters to 50 at the same time, and am now in the process of leveling a total of 5 alts. If class stories are not expanded on AND FOCUSED ON, I think that prediction is going to come true. And if it does come true, I fear that Bioware will have developed a reputation of not being able to deliver what they promised to, and will, in my mind, lost that truly AAA developer status.
  11. Having first completed the Sith Warrior story, I thought I could go into the final boss with my companion of choice. But no, with almost no warning, and with no opportunity before the point of no return (Fleet Pass was unavailable), T7 was forced on me, after not touching him since getting Kira. Thank the Force I geared up before the final instance, because I basically had to do it alone. T7 didn't last more than 5 seconds in ANY encounter.
  12. Kira's affection is maxed to 10,000. I declined to marry her, and no other conversations are pending. If I had to marry her to complete all conversations, I'm gonna be rather pissed. You shouldn't have to be lovey-dovey with every romanceable companion to complete the questline for the Legacy bonus.
  13. I've got an error 1003 here. Just wondering if it's everyone else of if I have to start checking connections. Edit: nvm. Didn't get the maintence notice when I logged in 30 minutes ago. Good job, BW.
  14. After hitting my first 50 yesterday morning, I amazed myself at how many side quests I skipped and how many mobs I ran past. One thing is true: the story, and journey from 1-50 is the best part of this game. It didn't even take me a day to become overwhelmed and disinterested in Ilum. Doing dailies and heroics over and over and over for, what? Better gear? Better gear for what? Hard modes of the Flashpoints I've done? And if World Bosses are any indication of raiding in other MMO's (I wouldn't know, this is my first MMO), then I wouldn't be interested in any raiding in any traditional MMO, where players are shunned if they don't have the absolute best gear. This is, of course, my opinion. If you enjoy grinding for gear and commendations, go right ahead. Me? I need a story for a game of this style.
  15. Yes, you are absolutely right. Bioware absolutely must listen to those who give criticism in the proper fashion. I don't believe they have been listening in the way that an MMO dev should. Maybe EA isn't letting them. Maybe they're overwhelmed with this being their first MMO. I don't know, and it's unlikely we'll ever get 100% of the facts, because publishers put a positive spin on everything they possibly can for their precious stockholders.
  16. For the most part, no matter how badly I would like it to, I don't believe TOR is going to survive it's 10-year plan. Because this is story-wise, a sequel to the KOTOR's, I believe it is a mistake to put the story content on the back burner and now solely focus on the opposite end of the spectrum; the players that are here solely for the raids, and other MMO-centric content. I believe that kind of back-and-forth development will ultimately sink this game, F2P or not. Bioware would've been much, much better off making KOTOR3, and whomever is to blame for turning it into an MMO project, be it someone at EA, LucasArts, or BW, should be fired.
  17. Myself, I never played WoW, I never played SWG. I played KOTOR 1 and 2 over a dozen times combined. Pretty obvious why I'm here. I'm sure many of us share that sentiment.
  18. I will blame whomever I want in my OPINION, sir. Good day.
  19. Simple. Straightforward. What did you want when you purchased SWTOR? KOTOR3? SWG 2.0? WoW-style MMO? Not calling any particular group out, just want to see where we stand as a community in what we want TOR to be.
  20. No, this isn't a thread about the doctors left because of us, EA is the devil, yada yada. No, this is just me getting out there where I believe we went wrong. Here are our most blatant errors regarding this game. Believing it would compete with World of Warcraft. Yes, even I'll admit, I fantasized about TOR putting a dent in WoW's subscriber base. But when I came to my senses, it dawned on me that TOR cannot compete with a game that has had 8 years to build a very solid foundation. It's just not gonna happen. Countless MMO's have been claimed to be the 'WoW Killer'. Face it, the only thing that is going to kill WoW is WoW. In between Cataclysm and Pandaria, we saw more than 800,000 subscribers leave of their own accord. When WoW finally dies, it won't have anything to do with the competition. A stellar RPG DOES NOT equal a stellar MMO. It's obvious. The Old Republic got the budget it did because of the success of Knights of the Old Republic and because EA wanted a piece of the WoW pie (there's publishers for ya *grumble grumble). One of the most successful Star Wars games of all time, and the first Star Wars RPG. KOTOR is also home to what is widely considered to be the greatest plot twist in all of gaming. Like it or not, you add in MMO elements, you ARE going to muck up what made the game great in the first place. It's a lesson the industry hasn't quite learned yet, but I hope it does soon, before every beloved franchise is bastardized in MMO form. I am highly anticipating The Elder Scrolls Online having the EXACT same problems this game has. We should not be allowed to complain about a lack of content for the entire first year. I'm just gonna come out and say it. If you were one of the players that hit 50 in the first week, you shouldn't even be allowed to post on the forums, and if you complained about lack of an end game in that time frame, you should be permabanned with no second chances. This is the first MMO of it's kind - story-heavy, fully-voiced content. That is what the majority of players liked the most in this game; the leveling and the story. Content like that is going to take more time to generate. And I certainly hope that's the kind of content that is consistently generated, because if not, F2P or not, this game will fall even further than it has in terms of sub count. This game is not about having one character and getting better and better and better gear (that's actually what I detest most about MMO's). No, the Legacy system was built around re-rolling once you hit 50, to experience another story, and the Legacy system gave you options to have a small leg-up with a new character. Well, there are my quick thoughts. Debate, add to it, flame, it's all good.
  21. 1.4 - The Old Rebuglic Like new bugs? Plenty of those got through the public test servers! Like current bugs! They're still here, some are even worse! Like old squashed bugs? Some came back! And we won't address any of them for at least a week. Sincerely, Bioware, the AAA game developer that use to be reputable, but just doesn't seem to give a **** anymore.
  22. Eh, the lightsaber combat wasn't immerse in KOTOR 1, 2, or TOR. It's just not something that's very possible in an RPG of MMO. I'd rather have my Jedi / Sith look epic for 30-60 seconds rather than just have him do pathetic glancing blows until the last hit. There's a handful of games with 'proper' lightsabers, though. Jedi Outcast and Force Unleashed come to mind.
  23. Hm. This is quite an interesting bug. Hasn't happened to me yet. I'm sure it's just a case of something going wrong with the instances. We're all supposed to have our own ship, but for some reason, we get put into instances with other players. 1.4 just keeps on getting better and better, eh?
  24. Be glad it's just happening on the fleet for you. Kira's saber has always been ignited everywhere I go.
