  1. Right now theres nothing a madness sin can do that a lethality operative can't do better. Corrosive grenade (aoe dot!) has no cooldown anymore, and corrosive dart never did. Dots do internal damage. Roll makes the operative quicker in getting in and out of combat, and even to places on the map.

Flashbang is still instant while madness lost insta whirlwind. Energy management is stupidly easy now for the operative. And the operative can do a crazy burst with backstab- shiv - cull - cull - cull, or even hidden strike + the above and 4 culls.

  2. @Xethis I gave your spec a shot and ran out of force unbelievably quickly. I'm used to running heavy force consumption specs, but I wouldn't be too comfortable running this in a WZ. Maybe the promised darkness tweak will help in this regard, but looks like I'm going to stick with WJ 2.0.
  3. Finally got on the PTS, and based on my limited test, 0/33/13 (or 0/31/15) in surging charge was decent. At least between insta-gibbs from 40k saber throws.

It runs like Wakajinn except you use low slash-> impose weakness maul in place of discharge, and save discharge as a finisher/filler. Will need to test some more though, as there are too many gamebreaking bugs running on the PTS now.

  4. I'm still waiting for the PTS patch to finish downloading, but I have also been planning to go hybrid lightning (from WJ) since I saw the initial datamine. When I was testing mad maul, I found that losing the upfront burst from using a global on lightning discharge hurt my effectiveness relative to WJ, even with hitting raze as soon as it proc'd.

Hopefully, the extra damage from crackling blasts makes up somewhat for it. However, losing insta-whirlwind is a painful surprise.

As for force management, just switch your gear to the 4 piece PVE force mystic, considering you only need 2 recklessness charges now instead of the third for discharge.

  5. I saw these supposed leaks a while ago, and contrary to some of the posters here, my first reaction was that the surging charge/ discharge changes are a nerf to the upfront burst of deception specs. If I'm reading it correctly, you won't do any damage with discharge unless you've first built up surging charges (on a 4.5 sec cooldown without voltaic strike). So 1 stack does 1/3 the damage of 3 stacks, rather than being a 30% buff.

That means no upfront discharge in Wakajinn, and in 31 pt deception, if they manage to defend against your discharge after your voltaics, you have a 15 sec cooldown and more stacks to build rather than a buffed shock on six sec cooldown. Of course, it all depends how much damage this thing does now to make up for it.

On the other hand, the new abilities seem OP for Huttball.

  6. The funny thing is that those of us out in other parts of Asia get better ping on US servers, and have more frequent WZ pops than on Dalborra. I just rolled a lowbie Assassin on the Harbinger, and the server lag is around 150-200, 1/3 of what I've been getting on Dalborra in recent weeks.

On a melee class its like night and day in terms of having abilities activate when and where you want them, and especially valuable is avoiding those lag spikes where your health flies to zero when you didn't think you were taking that much damage.

The downside is though that the lowbie players there are absolutely horrid compared to our server.

  7. I would merge all three into a super APAC server (Dalborra PVE) and THEN change the maintenance schedule for that to fit APAC time (even if there is a slight delay in getting updates vs other servers. Maintenance is becoming more frequent because of the Cartel Market stuff, and I'm tired of the unexpected downtime.

Also, I would give the PVP and RP server residents the one time option of transferring to one other PVP or RP server, but only AFTER the super server has been running for a month.

  8. I can confirm this. When on one of my lowbie alts in a civil war, a scoundrel capped grass without appearing (no beam of light) until the node was capped. I caught this on video and reported it to Bioware. I offered to upload and link the video if necessary. However, after a week I still have not recieved any response from the developers.
  9. ..Azn > Moshie.. to make this clear :)

    (20ms) (300ms)

Not letting my padawan be put ahead of me without a fight >: I

P.S. Azn is in hong kong now so his ping is around 180ms now.

Welcome (back?) to HK Azn. I find the ping is more like 200-350 most nights, but still playable..

  10. Would just like to mention in case it wasn't obvious, that there are some top players that I left out in my list, but only because I either haven't seen them recently or know that they are no longer around.
  11. Marauder/ Sentinel: Gamblor, Lycaon, Moshelle

Sorceror/ Sage: Labyrinth, Veronika, Whisps, Tanequil

Powertech/ Vanguard: Woofi, Throes, Carthy, Valkyrie, Izo

    Juggernaut: Sion, Atrummos, Aznpower, Maz'or

Operative/ Scoundrel: Timbohh, Ganj, Atton, Heala, Steelclaw

    Mercenary/ Commando: Daffydil, Domitrovich

    Sniper/ Gunslinger: Kevayrts

    Assassin/ Shadow: Flashgordon, Jwalsh, Ewa

  12. I completely support this as well. The PVP'ers will benefit from more frequent pops and more players to compete against. Open world PVP on all servers would thrive from an increased number of willing participants. RP'ers can continue to RP with RP guilds and channels.

And I'm sure many players who have let their subscriptions run out would resub to experience the new merged server.
