  1. Hi there, Welcome back to SWTOR! I main a Shadow and to be honest I enjoy all three roles within the class, Infiltration - Burst damage, melee range and single target focused, with a smattering of CC and the class staple Force Cloak as a part of an easy rotation. This would be my go to for solo play, running a tanking or healing companion at endgame. Serenity - DoT based DPS role, great for AoE and sustaining damage in group content, this synergises a mid range with needing to proc skills with melee - again with some CC thrown in but having little to do with Force Cloak. The rotation for this role can be tricky to get down until you have spent some time with it. Any loss of focus or a misstep yields sub par DPS. I would stick with Infiltration (though kiting is possible with force slow) Kinetic Combat - Strong tanking build with fair damage, melee focused for proccing damage mitigating skills but you can pull back to kiting distance once applied, very high shield chance and absorb thresholds but relies on active tanking (using a skill rotation to keep your defenses up) great CC options. Overall for pace I'd run Infiltration for its damage and rotation but Kinetic Combat is exceptionally viable, depends on your preference. I run Kinetic Combat for Master Mode KotET and KotFE missions. The above is opinion, checkout vulkk.com for some great guides and info! Happy Shadowing!
  2. Hi all, Not a new player, but struggling to find an answer to the question: If I use a level 70 boost, how can I get my class titles? Presumably I can just go back and complete the class story? Which is my plan, to run it through at 70 then use the Ossus advance to complete all content prior. Just checking the above would work, as I'm loathe to waste the 2k CM and not have any titles. Thanks all
  3. Hi all, Just checking what the concensus for PvE Vigilance stat values are nowadays? I was thinking a low (750) Alacrity build with high Crit would work nicely. I'm sitting at approx 110% Accuracy, 780 Alacrity. Wondering how I divide up Crit and Mastery? I have 13 Aug slots to use as I'm not sure if there is a soft cap with dimi returns. Many thanks PS. I am aware that there is value in high Alacrity, I didn't feel it was the angle I should approach my Vigilance build from given that the rotation felt like it would benefit from higher damage and crits, as I am not rotating through trying to build stacks to proc, as say my Infil Shadow (high alac) build.
  4. I know how you feel, having the exact same experience with the Hoth bonus series and the 'Savage Attacks' mission. I was helpfully informed that I may have completed this mission out of sequence and because I did so will not be able to progress the series quest chain. This information was provided by a fellow player NOT from support who just sent a generic reply. SWTOR support have been characteristically unhelpful. In other MMOs I have played when similar problems have been encountered support have reset the necessary quest/chain for me. Goodluck, post if you get some resolution! I wager we aren't alone in this.
  5. Thanks for the response. I guess I won't be completing this mission anytime soon!
  6. Agreed, I would use the Ardent Defender, but it's sound effect is awful and I obtained mine from a CM crate, which I paid for...
  7. HI there, Recently I realised I'd not completed the Hoth bonus series, so I returned to Hoth and accepted the 'Savage Attacks' mission from the NPC at Aurek Base. From there I was directed to Captain Amaruk at Tundra Drift base, in my mission log I noticed I had one mission to complete which was 'The Lost Patrol' now the mission text was greyed out and upon arriving I could see on my radar the gold/green icon for a quest NPC but Captain Amaruk, however Amaruk does not have the icon overhead and I am unable to interact with him in any way. I was advised by SWTOR Support that this might be a bug and may need to be addressed in a future update, which sounds like a rote auto-response. I find this a little bit of a cop out, surely the mission chain could be reset, I don't mind doing any precursor missions again. Either way, I wondered if anyone was stuck at this point and if it's a known issue?
  8. As an aside, Mk-5 gear will be craftable in the next update, which will be interesting.
  9. Hi all, It's been awhile since I've considered building my tanking gear on my Shadow. After a couple of weeks, I'm nearly finished, only need two implants, belt, wrists and 1 relic at 248 (they are currently Gemini 3) I sit at around 33% Shield Chance, 49% Absorb What percentages should I be looking to sit at augmented and unbuffed? The answer will help me determine which implants I should use and which augments I'll slot. Many thanks! (I'm asking here as the guides I've looked at either: Don't need updating/haven't been updated since '17)
  10. Thanks, I came to realise that resource management was going to become a consideration again.
  11. So, I've played since release and have recently switched to Serenity from Infiltration and crikey! The difference in rotations seems like a steep learning curve! I have to pay far more attention now and it's hard to see if I am dealing comparable amounts of damage. Serenity is great fun though steadier non-burst damage! I have used the guide on Vulkk.com to learn how to rotate through the skills. Is it worth building two bars or placing skills in certain groups on bars to help manage the rotation? Cheers!
  12. This change feels like a quick and easy way to address the Skanking issue from the side of the live team, I agree that Skanking needs to stop - I play pure JK Guardian, I don't Skank myself (sounds abit dodgy...) but have seen it in PvP. I would've preferred a statement that outlined this as a way to make a short term change whilst work was done on the deeper mechanics under the hood, like mitigation or atleast a fix is worked in that doesn't nerf players in PvE for a largely PvP related problem. The kinds of changes that stem from a PvP problem, but whose fixes impair PvE play has NEVER gone down well with any playerbase in any game, largely because you are nerfing players who don't PvP, players who do PvP and then players who are causing the issue by Skanking in the first place, many of those not engaged in said method, will feel aggrieved and it has an impact on their activities. Just finished building my Jedi Knight Guardian 248 set aswell, just in time for a wee spot o'nerfy nerf! I believe as above, it stems from not enough manpower to really get at the problem so the quick fix is being applied...
  13. Hi there, I'm looking for the Sovran's Maven Lightsaber hilt: https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/sovrans-maven-lightsaber/ It used to be my 'go to' saber hilt, but I lost it sometime ago, I can't find it and assume I've destroyed it accidentally whilst tidying my bank. I'm paying really well considering it's just an adaptive lightsaber hilt, nothing special or snazzy about it. If you can help message me here, or in-game on 'Orn'
  14. I PM'd you Hof_th - I really appreciate you taking the time to look through your gear and offer it. Thanks to everyone who contributed, I am a wiser being for it.
  15. I don't think it's that popular an opinion, I've heard it from so many players, seen it on forums. Returning to the Rep vs. Imp, Dark vs. Light equation is more iconic and Star Warsy
  16. I'm just now revisiting my Guardian, so I had a look around the interwebs, asked a few questions from some excellent tanks I grouped with whilst running DPS, and then visited the GTN to get up to spec on gear and stats so I can then start tanking myself and grinding out set pieces. I will do the same for Vigilance at somepoint. It's important to note I could've just bought a set of Eternal Commander gear from the vendors and used it, but that stats are far lower and the rate at which you level up in Galactic Command would leave me mishmashed, this way I can craft my stats to near where they should be and gain the set pieces as I level. A full set of Gemini MK-4 Bastion Implants, Earpiece and Force shield A full set of Gemini MK-4 Asylum armour Relics of Serendipitous Assault & Focused Retribution (I considered the defensive Relics and as they are cheap I will likely pick them up at somepoint the 'on use' clicky CD ones mind you) Lightsaber: Advanced Resistive Hilt, Advanced Warding Mod, Advanced Bastion Enhancement 1x Advanced Shield Augment (having one Shield rating augment takes me just over 50%) 13x Advanced Absorb Augments (Absorb is woefully low, from 20% approx. Absorb with no augments, to 45% approx. Absorb with augments) This lot cost me around 20,000,000 credits - which to me is acceptable to be able to hit 246 Item Rating. In Defense spec, I am around 116k health, with 50% Shield, 45% approx. Absorb Overall it works well, I just need to work on my tanking and use of CDs. Cheers!
  17. Hi all, I'm looking for a specific Lightsaber: https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/sovrans-maven-lightsaber/ It's an older model, do you think I can still obtain it through grinding planetary heroics/mobs on an appropriate planet? I've no idea how loot drops are decided nowadays, and wonder how a specific piece can be farmed or found. ANY advice of help is appreciated, on EU Darth Malgus if it's of any relevance.
  18. I don't honestly know what, if anything the live team will do about this exploit, being that the exploit is fixed but the damage is done - the credits are to spread out now, and alot of time has elapsed to much in my humble opinion for a rollback. I think if they can identify the accounts of those involved in reselling the companion items for profit then they should hand out bans, seeing as it has a big effect on the server and the GTN.
  19. Favourite Planet - Voss Least Favourite - Balmorra (if I HAD to choose one)
  20. That's your opinion, don't come here presenting it as fact, but I'll bite. [*] Guild - The Lost Praxeum; Jedi RP guild on Darth Malgus. [*] It is a regular part of my schedule, it's a hobby. [*] Cosmetics, flashpoints, voice acted content, replayability through opposing sides (Imp vs. Republic)
  21. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but really? I am a member of a heavy RP Jedi guild and have to say I cannot see how the server name has ANY discernable connection to anything that takes place on it.
  22. SWG player here, and I totally agree - SWG was groundbreaking and hasn't been rivalled in it's sandbox sci-fi goodness since the dark days the servers shutdown. I ran a guild we had a township with a few Jedi characters (pre-cu and post-cu) knocking about, we RP'd as a safe haven township and harboured a Rebel Alliance cell, we had allsorts of adventures, Imperial entanglements and off-planet skirmishes/missions. The CU didn't ruin it for us, but it certainly changed things, it gave players more scope to join us as Jedi in exile and stay off the radar. It was just alot of fun. Mulitplay starships, space combat with detailed starfighters and great (for it's time mechanics) trading/resource farming, lightsaber construction, sandbox township building... all those things were incepted years and years ago; why they aren't used more in contemporary MMOs is beyond me (it's not, but that's a whole other bag!).
