My computer was down for a few months, and I just got it fixed last week and thought I would start playing SWTOR again. Had been really enjoying it, and restarted my paid subscription. Then Friday night windows 10 did an update and ever since SWTOR wont start after hitting the play button on the launcher. The screen just goes black for a split second and then goes back to the normal computer view. Ive ran the fixer program, Ive tried admin settings, Ive tried reloading the game, and I made sure my windows 10 security has SWTOR selected as an allowed program . Ive pretty much worked on this for about 10 hours and no change. There are lots of posts all over the net about this issue, and most of them are from years ago. So what ended up working for most people?

My very first lvl 50 was my BH. I really got wrapped up in the story, especially the first part. But as soon as I hit 50 on him I shelved him. I was just dying way to fast and to often regardless if I was in PVE, or PVP. So I moved on to other classes, and every once in a while I would come back to my BH and try something new, something I read that might make him better. I tried all the recommended builds, and play styles and he just didnt get any more fun. I actually thought it was me, maybe I really am just that crappy of a player. And I will admit.. Im not the best at pve or pvp, but I hold my own in both just fine with all the other classes. Now I have at least one 50 in each class on the Imp side and a couple of 50's in a few of those classes that I really enjoy. I dont know what all BW needs to change in this class but in my opinion it is by far the weekest class in the game in all aspects. There is not one of the trees that are viable to the average player in my opinion. If it wasnt for the legacy buff I would have deleted mine a long, long time ago. I know there are some descent BH's out there, and my hats off to you, but if the class was on par with the rest of the classes.. You would be great. This is just my opinion, and maybe I just cant figure out this one specific class or it doesnt fit my play style. Regardless... thanks for letting me vent, and hopefully with the next big patch Ill have a reason to come back to this character I enjoyed oh so long ago.

Okay I looked about 6 pages back and I couldnt find what I was looking for, so I have a few questions I just switched back to heals as I have mainly been farming dailies in dps for some extra credits for other characters, but I joined a new guild who is starting to put some things together like a pvp team so I figured I would break out my old healer. Havent used it since 1.2 came out so Im sure Im out of date. For pvp is the standard pve healer tree still kind of the way to go? I see alot of talk about hybrids out there and was wandering what you all are having success with. If you using something other than the standard could you link the tree your using. I was going over my old gear (mostly WH stuff) and I have two relics that have just expertise on them which got me thinking... I know expertise is number one in pvp, but as a healer should I sacrafice willpower for expertise? I think thats it for now. Thank you for your time and hope everyone is having a happy new year

what everyone else said. Ill only add that I for one cant stand to play pvp. I just have a hard time with it. Some people are good at it, and Ive even seen some people that are great at it... My hats off to them. Having said that.... I love....LOVE... playing pvp as a sniper/sharpshooter. So much so that I already have a 50 and rerolled again just for pure pvp play. So my advice is this. Try every class in pvp and see which (could be mutliple) you even somewhat like... then start figuring out what works best for you. Which you may have already done.. I mean your already getting some great advice. But take it from someone who thought he would never enjoy playing pvp... once you get the hange of this class they are a blast.

I never do it on purpose, but sometimes I forget to switch after playing pvp. But I never claim to be a pro, and if I catch it, I own up to it immediatly and apoligize to the group. I was a healer for 3 years on another game most of us played so I understand what it means when your making the healer or tank work harder than they need to. And before anyone comments about me using dark charge in pvp. I am not a pvp type player.. I just do the daily/weeklies with pug groups and find the extra health helps just a little when Im taking on a group alone.. A little less squishy never hurts.

Thats the way every mmo is. When a new expansion comes out they have to make it so you want to get the latest upgrades, or what would be the point of the expansion. And on every game every time there is an expansion people complain about how long they grinding to gear such and such gear. Its nothing new. Just get ready to enjoy the new gear and upgrades that come with the new expansion, and quit whinning about it.

Got booted a few times earlier so completly logged out to do some things around the house (wife was happy about that). But now I just get the load screen after initial log in. No server or character options available.

Almost every time you go into battle with Kiliyo (sp) she jumps at the enemy and says: "Dibs on the head!" Not so funny after hearing it 20 times, but the first time I realized what she was saying I actually LOL'd

Im not sure where he is now, but I use to play in the same guild as Gordon Ramsey on WoW and I know he was looking forward to Swtor coming out. He was actually the one that pointed the site out to me way back when.

well I guess Ill go back to my 4-5 man fleet and see if I can get into pvp in the next few hours. Looks like we will be waiting tell next week or so to be able to move on my main server

Thanks for posting that. Im on vacation next week and dont know if Ill have internet access or not, and since Bioware hasnt got to my server yet (although as fast as they are moving Im sure they will soon) I was a little concerned.
