  1. The Gree mission series on Coruscant rewards Knights with the Battle Expulsor's Chestguard, which is an orange (moddable and thus usable until level 50) chest armor that looks like the classic Jedi robes look.
  2. After surviving the destruction of Paragon City at the hands of NCSoft, I came back to SWTOR full time. Just wondering if there are any other players on this server who are refugees from Paragon City or the Rogue Isles?

  4. I learned Synthweaving on my Jedi Guardian when I first started playing. At first, it was fun being able to craft gloves, bracers and belts that were way better than what I was being offered as mission rewards. Then I ran into the well known dilemma of Jedi gear being absurdly poorly designed. Colors, shoulders, hoods, the problems people have with Jedi gear is well documented at this point, and having grown up in Paragon City I refused to have my character wear ugly gear no matter what stats it offered. Eventually I realized that all the gear I could learn to make as a Synthweaver was far too ugly to wear. Aside from making belts and bracers for my Guardian and for Kira, I basically gave up on it till I hit level 50, and then it was only to learn to make Augment Slot kits. Honestly i'd say learn a more useful Crew Skill, like Cybertech since you can craft ear pieces and implants.
  5. Murdered is a better phrase for what NCSoft did to City of Heroes.
  6. So after fighting the GTN, price gougers and no specific drop area for weeks, I gave up trying to complete a Jedi Battlelord set and bought the Valiant Jedi set off the Cartel Market. I gotta say, it's SO much better. No weird elbow pads, no odd back armor plates, no belt narrowing the waist and making the back look too big, and no ugly shoulder pads, plus NO hood. This is what the Battlelord set SHOULD have looked like in-game, considering it's on the game's boxart and startup screen like that. I just wanted to say thanks for adding the Valiant Jedi set to the game, even if it is overdue. I can't help but wonder though if other color variants of it will ever be added.
  7. I've had this problem too, even on Flashpoints where trying to hold a mob's attention is damn near impossible. I think Guardians (and Juggernauts) would be more effective as Tanks if their aoe taunt lasted longer and had half the cooldown time it currently has.
  8. Comparing to this video, SWTOR Jedi are better.
  9. I said Jedi, not Dark Jedi. It just goes against canon and lore way too much for a LS Force Sensitive to have sided with the Empire after they systematically went about hunting the Jedi to near extinction.
  10. From a lore side, yeah, making players work to unlock Jedi sounds great, but gameplay wise, making them grind over a dozen professions to unlock said Jedi is just torture. Then again after the NGE you could have Jedi fighting for the Empire. No matter how you try to spin that RP wise, it will never make sense. The Empire systemically murdered the Jedi as part of their takeover. One thing I liked in SWG over SWTOR when it comes to Jedi is the fact that you could wield a double blade and actually fight with it. I made a Shadow cause I wanted to fight with a double blade and I have 3 melee abilities right now. That's...that's just boring, and impractical for a melee class. Also, purple color crystals. You could actually FIND them in Galaxies. Also a bit of irony; Jedi in SWG longed for the full outer robe look which was only available to Elder Jedi, while Jedi in SWTOR are stuck with robes because most of the lvl 50 gear for Knights look like utter garbage.
  11. One thing I much prefer about SWTOR to SWG; in Galaxies, you could be a Jedi and side with the Empire, the people who commited Genocide against your kind, that never made any sense to me, at all. And yes, the skill tree let you either take Light Side or Dark Side powers, but the thing is, a Force User who uses the Dark Side is called a Dark Jedi, having a Light Side Jedi working with the Empire was always something that burned me about Galaxies since it went against the lore so much. And I have to ask, I really do, was it REALLY enjoyable to have to grind for days or weeks just to start playing a Jedi? If you want to be a Jedi it should just be an option, instead of everyone playing the same classes because 'they have to' in order to unlock a Jedi. People who want to be Smugglers can be Smugglers, people who want to be a Jedi can be Jedi. It's just common sense.
  12. Actually, the armor Knights see in the Character Creator is available from the Legacy Vendors on Coruscant!... If you have Legacy level 20, which is obviously the easiest thing in the world.
  13. As opposed to how seamless (sarcasm) and easy (sarcasm) it was to find big space battles in SWG and play them without having to grind 30 levels (sarcasm) before you could play them and not get vaporized by anything over Tier 1? Yeah, those were great. (Sarcasm) Oh, and cause getting to finally fly an X-Wing was the simplest task ever.
  14. Sorry, my mistake, never played a DPS Guardian.
  15. Sentinels - Dual Blade DPS Guardians - Single Blade DPS or Tank It's really your personal preference that matters, also Guardians can wear heavy armor and use shields.
  16. Male Knights in SWTOR are voiced by David Hayter, a.k.a. SOLID SNAKE from MGS. Our Padawan is voiced by Chun-Li from Street Fighter IV, we can wear actual armor (Elder Robes weren't obtainable after the NGE) or classic robes with hoods, we can spec to dual wield lightsabers, and don't have to go through a whole ordeal to craft a new lightsaber every 5 levels. Also, space battles.
  17. When I say Havoc armor, I mean the armor the Troopers wear in the trailers (left shoulder plate, ammo belt on chest). The lvl 40 pvp version of this is black on white, the orange on white version is sold by Coruscant vendors, but i've seen people wearing this armor in green on white and blue on white versions. I want all the squad members in different colors, or at least all in the blue on white version, but i'm having no luck finding it in-game. Can anyone help?
  18. We wouldn't have had this problem if robes didn't wrap around the waist and instead fell naturally like the trenchcoat Imps get from the Black Talon FP. Wait, I take that back, if you think about it, it seems like EVERY npc in-game has this. Maybe it's their legacy bonus, being large in the back. The whole time I did the Trooper missions on Coruscant I was always distracted talking with Garza, cause the camera angle seemed to aim directly at it too.
  19. Solution to all the horribly ugly lvl 50 gear - get the Battle Expulsor's chestguard from the Gree mission series on Coruscant. It's the 'classic' jedi look, all robes, no shoulder pads, no back plates, just robes. Only issue with it is having to wear a hood, but i'll take that over having to wear antlers and gross color mismatches the lvl 50 gear seems to have. The Expulsor (heavy for Guardians) and Battleborn (medium for Sentinels) are both moddable, so buy the lvl 50 sets, tear out their mods to add to your Expulsor or Battleborn robes, then sell the unused armor back to the vendor to get some credits for it so the ordeal is still remotely productive. The sooner you make peace with the fact that most Jedi armor looks like something a clown would wear and just wear one of the few good looking moddable sets, the sooner you can get back to the good stuff; lightsabering people to death.
  20. Have you checked the PVP vendors?
  21. Knights are voiced by David Hayter, a.k.a. SOLID SNAKE. Our Padawan is voiced by Laura Bailey, a.k.a. Chun Li from Street Fighter IV, Lust from FMA, and Kid Trunks from DBZ. That and our first companion is frakking adorable little droid who's also an effective tank. Downside: Finding armor that actually LOOKS good is a challenge in and of itself.
  22. I actually enjoy warzones to regular planetary content alot of the time. Before the FP queue and the server merge I had to basically give up on running Flashpoints because there was no feasible way to run them outside of standing in the fleet and spamming the chat for members, or individually messaging people. It'll be a little tricky to stay up to date with mods since you wont get alot in the way of planetary commendations if you skip most of the generic missions, but the pvp armor is really cool. The fastest way for you to lvl will be FPs and Warzones, and like mentioned above, the FP bonus xp from the Legacy system.
  23. The Battleborn (Medium for Sentinels) and Battle Expulsor (Heavy for Guardians) robes are the 'classic' Jedi robes in game. They're moddable so you can use them forever. You get them for finishing the Gree mission series on Coruscant, so you don't have to worry about drop rates or any junk like that. Just finish the mission series and you'll be set the rest of the game. Head pieces you can just hide. I always do. Until I found the Outcast Helmet on my Commando, it's the helmet the troopers in the trailers wear. The lvl 50 purple armor sets for Knights are some of the most garish, mismatched and awfully designed armors i've seen in nearly any MMO. I flatly refused to wear any of them, regardless of what stats they may have. I bought em, tore out the mods to add to my Battlelord armor then sold the purple armor back to get something of worth out of the ordeal. Getting a Knight to have good armor is unfortunately alot harder than it needs to frakking be. I literally gave up on Synthweaving for anything except belts, bracers and armor augment slot mods after a certain point because none of the armor pieces looked like something a Jedi would wear, as opposed to some kind of space clown. Oh, and if I seem vindictive it's on purpose; the trailers, class progression trailer and even the frakkiing character creator show off amazing armor that's frakking impossible to get in-game. The armor from the character creator isn't available as a moddable set unless you have Legacly level 20, which will take me forever to get. So yeah, i'm a little resentful against whoever they put in charge of designing armor for Knights.
  24. Unless they changed it, Battleborn and Battle Expuslor aren't drops, they're the end rewards for finishing the Gree mission series on Coruscant. It's where my Guardian got his Expuslor armor from.
