  1. Did they remove the option to show your corruption? I'm looking in my character menu and I don't see an option anywhere to turn my corruption on.

    They did not.

    Open your character window.

    Click the Outfitter tab

Checkbox for Show Dark Side Corruption is right below the Unify Colors button

IIRC, this option is (still) specific to each outfit, so if you have more than one outfit set up, you'll need to enable it or not, according to whether you want the corruption to appear with each outfit.

  2. I realize this is a necro, but...

I'm pretty sure keybinds are stored server-side and not in that or any other file on the computer.
Keybinds are indeed stored locally, not on the server.

    In Win10, the location is:

    C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings\Keybindings\<filename>.xml

(and no, I don't know why the forum insists on putting a space in the middle of the word "settings")

where <username> is the name you use to sign in to the PC, and <filename> is whatever name you used when you saved your keybinds (could have multiple files, if you've saved multiple keybind setups).

I recently installed the game on a new PC and dug up this thread to see where to look on my old PC to find my keybindings and other UI stuff so I can put them on my new PC.

  3. * Changing the Cartel Market so that the Unclaimed Items area is shared across the whole legacy. That way, someone who does what you did can simply create another character and claim the token over there.

It actually worked that way, long, long, ago...

I may be mis-remembering, but I believe you could even purchase an item with one character and then "claim" it with a character on a different server, on the same account....

    Dunno why they changed it.

  4. Also, just to add, companions don't count for social points, ie if there are two players, and two comps, you still only get the SP's for two players, not four, even though, technically, there are four in the group.
There are 4 characters, yes, but only 2 players. Social Points are to encourage players to do stuff together.
  5. IIRC, it's a bit over 4 Billion credits. And that's due to the largest value the particular variable type can store. AFAIK, it hasn't been, and won't ever be, raised.

And yes, I believe a few people have hit it.

    *wanders off to look...*

    And here's a link:

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9102801&postcount=3

As mentioned in the link, the amount is slightly less than the variable type's max value, for some reason.

  6. PS: The game used to had saves to the adjustments, those seem to be deleted, where can I get a backup ?
If you mean you saved customized keybinds and/or UI layouts, those are stored locally, on your PC. So the only way to get "backups" is if you backed up your PC before the reinstall. (You did make a backup before reinstalling Windows, yes?) OTOH, depending on how you did the Windows reinstall, it may not have nuked all your program data, so...

The normal place they would be stored is in your appdata folder:

Hold down the windows key and press "R"

    type in (or just copy/paste)

    %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings

    click OK

Your saved keybindings should be in the Keybindings folder, as YourName.xml (replace YourName with whatever you actually named it). If you saved custom UI layouts, they will be in the GUIProfiles folder, also saved as YourName.xml (again, replace YourName with whatever name you used when you saved the layout).

If all that is still there, you should be able to load them while in game.

For custom UI layouts, click the little + on the left side of your main Quickslots bar, to bring up a list of available UI layouts. This will have an assortment of pre-set layouts, plus whatever custom layouts you saved, listed by whatever names you used when you saved them. Just click on the layout you want to use.

For the keybindings, hit ESC, click Prefernces and click the "Key Binding Import/Export" tab. Then click the button next to the name of whichever set of saved keybindings you want to load.

If you don't have those files on your PC, you can restore them from your backup. (Once again, you did make a backup before reinstalling Windows, yes?) If you didn't make a backup before the reinstall, you'll have to re-do all your custom keybindings and/or layouts from scratch.

  7. As above, I prefer it that way. Often you want to "center" the AoE in the midst of a group, not possibly off to one side on a particular target.

If you accidently hit an AoE, you can usually abort it by moving or activating a different skill.

And FWIW, if you do want it centered on a particular target, you can select the target then double-click the AoE ability and it will auto-center on that target, so you don't have to manually place it on/near your target.
  8. Buying things on the CM and selling them on the GTN is a common way to make credits. Things like various "unlocks" and high-end equipment seem to sell well. Just check the average listing prices on the GTN for CM items.

Then be prepared for the prices to be different once the temporary bind timer runs out after you buy whatever. Might be higher, might be lower, I've never been able to predict, one way or the other.

Also be prepared to put your item(s) up multiple times before actually getting a sale.

For those of us with a stable full of alts, doing something like CZ-198 on multiple characters, then dumping their income in the Legacy bank is also a way to (maybe) pile up a million credits faster than just using one character. Also, if you are in a guild and can manage to hit your conquest objective on multiple characters, you can pool those rewards to help get to that million credits faster.

  9. Of course you can use tools like Keepass to manage your passwords, and it can help to semi-automate the process.

I prefer this method. It makes it easy to have a different long, random password for everything, and I don't have to actually remember any of them. Plus, it has a button to clear the clipboard, and I hit that right after I paste the password into the launcher or website or whatever. I do have to remember the password for the program to unlock the encrypted passwords file, but that's just one password. And since I'm the only one who uses my PC it can be an easy(ish) one.

  10. That would be a good thing for guild SHes, although it's something of a mystery what it would show to visiting players in your personal strongholds, especially when you aren't in the stronghold.

I can see it working four ways, none of which is entirely satisfactory:

    * Shows the guild of the character that placed it. Would represent a problem if you delete this character or quit / get kicked from your guild.

    * Shows the guild of whichever character you're logged into. Again, represents a problem if you log in on a guildless character or if you aren't logged in at all (and your SH is public)

    * (Most unsatisfactory) Shows the guild of whoever is looking at it, which would be fine for *you*, but very weird for visitors.

    * (Least problematic) Shows the guild of the character tagged as "owner" in the SH panel. Again, a bit strange if you de-guild the character.

I like the last of these. In the case of a non-guilded character, I suppose it could default to a Republic or Empire symbol, according to the SH "owner"s" faction. Or maybe have the flag or banner revert to a "furled" appearance - just a flag stand, or hanger, with nothing on it.
  11. If I use the number keys (Top row, not num pad with numlock or without) they work just fine, but that completely defeats the purpose of having keybinds anyway if I am gonna have to move my hand off the homerow, or my mouse.
Maybe you just need to practice your keyboard gymnastics more.

Seriously, though, I personally don't find it too difficult to hit the left alt key with my thumb and then hit one ot the number keys with my ring or middle finger, which lets me keep my index finger on the home row. Though stretching for the 6 key does tend to slide my index finger ove to the G key, instead of staying in its proper place above the F key.

FWIW, I use a Microsoft Natural keyboard. (My wife, who's a far better touch typist than I am, absolutely hates the thing. But I've been using them for decades, and don't like using a "normal" keyboard. And don't even get me started on laptop keyboards.) I also have longer hands/fingers than a lot of people I know, so that may be a more difficult stretch for you than it is for me.

  12. Dulfy has probably the best, most complete list anywhere of speeders:

    http://dulfy.net/2012/05/29/complete-high-res-catalog-of-all-swtor-speeders/#Hyrotii_Family

You're looking for the Hyrotii speeder family.

The Hyrotii scrapper is available from one of the reputation vendors in the Cartel market area of fleet.

I got the "original" HYrotii Scrapper when it was only available from an event mission (part of the runup to the first Gree event). I'm actually slightly disappointed they made it "scale" with your piloting, instead of leaving it at strictly Rank 1 speed, regardless of your piloting skill. Now it's not so much a barely-running "scrapper" as a hopped-up gross polluter. :p
  13. I'm not sure just what the point of the "Heraldry" in SWTOR is. I'm not aware of anywhere it shows up, except on your guild page. Oh, and the little "badge" on the "<Planet> controlled by <Guild>" notice when you travel to wherever.

Would be nice if there was some cosmetic gear that you could use to display the Heraldry, or an option to have it show on your gear, like the little Havoc Squad markings you see on some armor sets. Maybe flags or banners you could put in your personal or guild strongholds....

  14. Open a ticket for an accidental deletion of an item.

Since you didn't use it it probably won't be in your collections, but you can press ctrl c and give it a shot to see if it might be in there?

He said he bought it before and bought it again to sell on GTN. So presumably the first one he used, and he has the item in collections. But that's actually not relevant.

He bought the second one to sell on the GTN. Items retrieved from Collections are bound to your character when you retrieve them, and cannot be sold on the GTN.

  15. That particular timer has nothing to do with the Legacy system.

It's a special timer that you get when you win the loot roll for an item* while grouped. Until the timer runs out, you can trade it to anyone who you were grouped with when you won the loot roll for the item, but only those people. Once the timer runs out it will revert to its "normal" BoL state. That's so if you "accidentally" roll on an item that you can't use, and win the item, you can trade it to a group member who can.

And like the temporary bind timer on CM items, if you equip it, the timer will go away, and the "normal" binding will take effect.

*For BoP or BoL items, anyway. No need for it on BoE stuff.

  16. if you plan to do the class story anyway, it's kind of a waste to use a Master's D. since levelling is so fast.
I knid of feel the same way about using the Commander's Tokens to create a "Start at 60" or "Start at 70" character.

I don't generally create characters simply to level them to max as fast as possible for "endgame" stuff. I typically have a certain personality and character development idea in mind when I create a character, so i want to play through everything myself and make all the "appropriate" choices for that character along the way, which you can't do with one of those "boosted" characters.

  17. Short answer:

Look in Device Manager, under Display Adapters. It should show one or the other "card".

    Long answer:

I have a similar situation with my PC - a desktop PC, not a laptop. The motherboard has an onboard graphics "card", and I have an nVidia card slotted.

In my Device Manager, the only thing shown under Display Adapters is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050. nothing about the onboard "card".

The only way to switch between them, if I wanted to (and I don't), is to change my BIOS settings.
