  1. My wife and a few friends are coming back with me to play and enjoy the game so I'm looking for a guild that is active. I used to be a part of this community and the game was at a state that I felt it was a good idea to leave and let it have time to develop a bit more. My definition of active: - More than 2-3 people on at any given time, 7-10 perfered - Guildies actually talk and play with other guildies - Guild runs OPs or wants to start running OPs - Guild has some form of PVP or interest in PVP - Guild is not formed around an elitist core of ideals - Guild has an active VOIP client and members are on there most of the day enjoying time spent in game. - Guild has a desire to progress through what SWTOR can throw at it.
  2. Actually , I agree with you the talent builds I made arn't there. I'll upload them again I guess something changed because those builds have 8 points left over and arn't even filled out correctly. Thank for bringing that to my attention.
  3. I just added a section about Threat to the guide. I'm not sure it's what your looking for but I do think it will help you understand how it works more.

  7. I tried the spec last night and I realized that I linked the wrong torhead skill build in the guide. Typically I use a build similar to that. At this point I've been experimenting going deeper into the tactics tree to get tactical tools and augmented cells to try other things. I've also been working on pvp hybrid specs that are decent enough for tanking flashpoints but still powerful in pvp. If anyone sees anything that is not correct or think they want to add something please let me know. Lets use this guide to help build a better community of tanks. Be constructive and try to not flame others if they make suggestions. Remember don't feed the trolls.

  15. Well I'm coming back into the game now. While I've been out for a while I did create several of the How to Tank guides and one is still on these forums. I plan on getting back into creating guides and will be doing video walkthroughs of content and tactics. Here is a link to previous guide: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=158355 I'm starting to think that the game is on it's way back up. As long as the new Bioware wants to get dirty and focus on the issues then swtor can be revived. I'm starting to see a new side of swtor actually getting in there and making changes. If you have any suggestions of what you'd like focused on let me know. I know some things have changed with the class and I welcome constructive feedback. I don't claim to be an expert in the class, however I do claim to make anyone that reads the detailed guides one. I expect the first couple of tanking guides to be updated at the end off the week while PVP spec and OPS specs will be later. Lets face it there are some bad tanks out there .. gently point those bad tanks to the guides and improve everyone's LFG experience. *moved the post here to keep forums clean*

  17. Yea my group was having a problem with this one as well. We figured it was just a dps check and if you don't have the dps then your not going to get it done. One thing that we learned was that the healers can cleanse the dot he puts on you that hits for 8k. Then we also learned that you can break him out of stealth with aoe. The bad thing was with the dps being so slow we can't get him to a decent hp before he enrages and kills the party leaving me the tank to work off the remaining 30-40k.
  18. What I'm saying here is I noticed a lot of vanguards trying to use riot strike as a threat move or in a standard rotation that wasn't in an attempt to interrupt a skill. This skill is an interrupt meaning that it's only purpose is to stop long cast spells\abilities from hitting you if interrupted in time. Plasma cell isn't what you want to use for tanking. There is at one point a mention that we can get a talent that benefits all cells ion, plasma, and the other one but that has more to do with just doing extra damage just tanking stats.

  22. From my tests I've been noticing that the vanguards "threat" is horribly low. I can't switch to another target for more than a few seconds before someone pulls that last target off me. Thats after a full rotation. They really need to add more threat mechanics to our class. I don't even care if it's just on one skill we are highly lacking in the threat department from my research.

  24. I'm one of those effected by the fps issues so I'm not really able to throughly test out ES and IP in decent dungeons like hardmode and ops. However, I have tried it on normal and strong targets and the results do add up to a higher moddifer per tick. That is to say that a single tick from IP is less threat than a single blast from ES. I know my word won't let that argument settle so I'll provide a reference sheet once the combats logs come into place.
