  1. Thanks for all the offers all! I found a raid group that seems like a good fit.
  2. Hey folks. Any raid groups short a DPS tonight for 8M SM Rav? I've recently joined a new raid group but they had already done SM Rav this week, so I'm looking for a one-time group this week. I'd prefer to find an existing group rather than a full on PUG for obvious reasons. I've completed the OP many times both as a tank and DPS (though only my DPS is available) and can link the achievements in game. I have all of the voice chats (TS, Raidcall, Mumble, etc.) Message me in game on Ikky or Narcoleptic. I'll probably be leveling Narcoleptic mostly tonight, but Ikky is my raid character. Thanks!
  3. Definitely! You're not on now but shoot me a message when you are and I'll look for you as well. I'm going to mostly be on Narcoleptic tonight, but I bounce around between characters - Narkosis, Ikky, and Narcoleptic.
  4. Oops, I just saw the Guild Recruitment section. Suppose I should post there instead
  5. Hi all! As the title suggests, I'm looking for a new raid group. I have a Sin Tank (primary) in mostly 198 with 4 piece 192 set bonus. DPS gear is 2 piece 198, rest 192. Both sets fully augmented. I also have a Sorc in one 198, rest 192. Progression: SM Ravagers: Completed - No loot needed on my primary (tank). HM Ravagers: First two bosses completed SM ToS: Cleared to Underlurker HM ToS: First boss completed I'd love to find a regular, established group of people that have already cleared close to the same content as I have and that raid on a set schedule. I'm available all weekday evenings after 3:00 p.m. PST until about 12:00 a.m. PST and weekends anytime. I have Mumble, TS, Raidcall, and can get any others your team might use. Really the most important thing to me is consistency, having a somewhat regular schedule, and finding a FUN group of people. The game isn't fun if the people you're playing with aren't fun too! As far as me personally, I'm in mid-30s, normal bank hours type job, been gaming 17 years. I took a break from SWTOR and came back about a week before the most recent expansion. Lots of experience raiding, don't mind spending a night wiping over and over for progression, and I'm usually up for most anything. I also don't mind tanking or dpsing. I primarily tank, but have no issues filling whatever role is needed. Shoot me a PM here or in game under Narkosis, Ikky, or Narcoleptic.
  6. People are still talking about this? This started happening like a month ago. This thread is almost two weeks old. Move on. Bio clearly has.
  7. Sign this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=792899 It's getting ridiculous and I really feel like they should give subs a free month.
  8. I've played a lot of MMOs in the last 18 years. Every single one had some sort of compensation for repeated server crashes/downtime. Harbinger is once again down on a Saturday night during primetime. I really feel like they should give a free month to subscribers on Harbinger. Hell, even my internet provider (Comcast) refunded me several weeks due to intermittent outages I experienced awhile back. *Edit* To get in before people start yelling about F2P players getting something as well, remember you're playing for free. Subscribers are paying for a service they aren't receiving.
  9. Well, I made several million from it tonight (I'll let you figure out how) and completely, completely destroyed some of the crafting markets on the GTN. Only reason I stopped was because I was tried of clicking the slot machine. The crafting missions are all but pointless now. Seriously. Diplomacy, Underworld Trading, etc. - NO point in them. Purple 500 crafting missions are now virtually useless (at least at their current prices). They are going to have to change the rewards OR change the price on.....certain items which shall remain nameless. I love the slot machine but it literally made 1/3 of crafting skills obsolete in its current incarnation. Expect a change at some point.
  10. TOTALLY bad idea. Crafting Missions like Diplomacy, Underworld Trading, etc. are now obsolete because of it. I mean, the machine is great, the rewards need to be tweaked. Made several million credits tonight thanks to the slot machine, and TOTALLY ruined the crafting market on the GTN in the process. Only reason I stopped was because of total boredom clicking the thing. *edit* I will say though it's pretty fun at first
  11. It's a horrible decision by itself. Only a few people in this thread understood my OP, so for those that didn't, I COMPLETELY understand removing Ultimate Comms from 55 ops. HOWEVER, what I don't understand is why they didn't do anything to make Ultimate Comm gear more desirable at the same time. Again, the SM OPs that drop the Ultimate Comms ALSO drop gear that is BETTER than Ultimate Comm gear. That makes absolutely no sense. Either keep Comm gear inferior, and allow Ultimate Comms to be gathered from 55 content, or Make Comm gear superior and don't allow Comm gear to be gathered from 55 content. This is the crux of it.
  12. It's not the top level of gear. It's below 198 HM and in most cases 192 SM. That's the point - There is no point in getting 198 comm gear now. I totally respect that end game gear should be hard to get. I would be totally fine with the changes if they bumped the 198 comm gear's stats, but right now it's like 3rd best so there is no reason to get it, given the difficult of getting Ultimate Commendations. Story Mode ToS/Ravagers is better gear so what is the 198 Comm gear for now? Companions? Again, I'm not complaining about the changes to Ultimate Commendations, I just don't understand their purpose in the game now. Prior to this change, you could farm Ultimate Commendations to help get you through ToS/Ravagers story mode (not that you really needed them but...). Now....you're getting Ultimate Commendations from the same OPs that give better gear than the Ultimate Commendations. Makes no sense.
  13. If ToS and Rav are the only OPs really dropping them (I'm not including NiM DP/DF, since not a lot of people will do that for Ultimate Comms), what is the point? The 192 SM token gear from ToS and RaV are pretty close to equivalent, and even better in some circumstances than 198 comm gear. So this change just made 198 gear virtually irrelevant. I don't mind the change so much as I don't understand the implementation. If this coincided with making 198 comm gear better than 192 Rav/TOS gear it would make sense, but as it's being implemented Ultimate Comms and 198 comm gear just became completely irrelevant.
  14. Ok that makes sense. Thanks!
  15. I'm leving up a Sniper for the first time and I just got Series of Shots. It shares a cooldown with Penetrating Blasts. Am I missing something or is Penetrating Blasts far superior? I'm not understanding the point of Series of Shots. Enlighten me please!
  16. It may be based on server. Hell, I know it's based on planet. Certain planets are FAR worse than others. Makeb for example has soul crushing lag. I actually died ON THE TAXI. I clicked my destination and nothing happened for about 15 seconds. Then screen went black and the taxi appeared at my destination but didn't drop me off. Then I get the death sound, it plops me on the ground and I'm dead. Srsly? Now before we go any further, let's make it very clear that this is most definitely SERVER SIDE. I've got a month old computer, I7 5820 6 core, 32 gigs of ripjaws, dual GTX 970s, and rock solid business class internet.
  17. This, above ALL else, is what makes me angry about SWTOR. I'm a returning player. I took a 2 year hiatus, came back, bought Revan, subscribed, etc. and I'm flabbergasted that this has gone on so long. This should have been their #1 priority from the beginning. #1!!!!!! It affects everyone playing the game and it is the most frustrating thing about the game. I seriously question a company that takes this long to respond to this issue, much less fix it. Really shocking to be honest.
  18. I've always played Tank on my Sin, but recently I've been asked to DPS in raids a bit. My main question is about accuracy. I went Deception and from what I've read, you need to have 759 accuracy, no ifs, ands, or buts. I'm a returning player too, so can someone explain why accuracy is that important? I just bought a full suit of the 186 basic comm gear expecting my accuracy to be somewhat near what I needed to be, and it turns out it's only 417! If I get implants off the GTN instead of the basic comm implants I'm at 621. That's still 138 points away. I'll go ahead and replace a few things and/or augments, but man it seems like I'm giving up so much power/crit/surge just to get accuracy that high and I want to make sure it's absolutely required and I'm doing it right. This is for PvE only by the way. Thanks in advance for any help.
  19. They do sell decently. I've opened up 21 purple light armor recipes and made them all. Since Ottegan Silk is so cheap, I sell them for 50k (non-augmented) or 75k (augmented), and I've made a couple million so far. Some of the pieces compare favorably with Elite Commendation items. Also pretty good for companions. Whatever the case, they are selling. They aren't selling super fast or anything, but for how cheap the mats are, it's almost pure profit.
  20. I understood what he's saying in the post but not the calculations. He's going to have to post real world numbers for us to mirror for that to make sense to 99.99% of the population Essentially though that is sort of what this thread (in a very simplistic way) is asking. How much HP is enough and when is it better to give up HP for defensive stats? The super super simplistic version is even if you're giving up 1000 hp for just 1 point of defensive stat, and you don't need that 1000 hp to survive, then the 1 point of defensive stat is better. (I know that's a really simplistic version because if you don't need the 1000hp to survive, you don't need the 1 point of defensive stat to survive either). I think what most people are looking for in threads like this (or at least I was when I posted) is a yes/no answer. Is 16 points of defensive stats + 29 willpower > 101 endurance? Yes/No? From KBN's thread, it sounds like there isn't a definitive answer yet because we don't have the "exchange rate" of endurance to defensive stats...yet. That means it's more of a gut feeling at this point I guess.
  21. Well I don't think you'd ever do all 12 pieces. 12.7k is a lot of hp to lose. I'm sitting at around 56k health right now with stim though so if I did say 3 pieces, I'd lose 3,030 hp and go down to roughly 53k. Doesn't seem like much of a difference and having better defensive stats vs more hp is better for the healer (to a point of course - you don't want to drop below x amount of hp).
  22. Just curious what everyone's thoughts were. Some of the crafted gear gives more defensive stats, but not as much endurance. Example: Elite Gloves Commendation Gloves (Massassi Duelist's MK-1 Gloves): 332 Endurance 193 Willpower 104 Shield 93 Defense Veracity Ruusan Dynamic Defense Gloves: 231 Endurance 222 Willpower 102 Shield 84 Absorption 27 Defense So basically, if you use the crafted gloves you lose 101 Endurance (about 1000 hp), but you gain 29 Willpower and 16 points worth of defensive stats (104 shield + 93 defense on Elite = 197 vs 102 shield, 84 absorption, 27 defense on crafted = 213). TL : DR is 16 points of defensive stats + 29 willpower > 101 endurance? Seems to me some crafted pieces are better than the 192 Elite Commendation pieces. Not all, granted, but some. That's just one example but there are a couple other pieces like that. The downside of course is that you're stuck with whatever graphic the piece has since crafted doesn't have mods BUT the upside is you can essentially get in full Elite Commendation quality gear in almost half the time by mixing and matching Elite Commendation Gear with crafted. Thoughts?
