  1. Only way I've been able to do it is simple: Don't put a helmet on my Companion. If the helmet appearance really bothers me I'm not hesitant to remove that slight bonus on my companion to make it better. In particular Aric Jorgan, he puts on an open face helmet and he's all forehead... I'm willing to forgo the extra stats.

I'm in the same boat here and sadly a few of my companions have never had and likely never will have a helmet cause i cant turn the graphics off, heres to hoping some day we can :)

  2. For those that feel they must have addons to "push the envelope" of top performance and what not I submit this. Instead of asking for Bioware to alter the game to fit your playstyle

try adapting your playstyle to fit the game. Use the tools that Bioware has given you and consider it a challenge to perform well without any addons.

If Bioware decides to allow addons, let them be made by Bioware and not a 3rd party program.

I really dont want to see this game degenerate into "LFG for raid xxx, need XX Gearscore,

DBM, Vent, dps of XXX or dont reply, oh and link achieve"

    Thanks

I agree with this 110% and like to add my thanks for not including any form of damage meter support as of yet at least, hope it stays this way.

  3. Yes theres lots of threads on this however there is a far bigger issue with Aimed Shot that needs addressed asap. Aimed Shot does not seem to be scaling with new ranks whatsoever. My damage with it rose to around 900-1200 dmg crits around 20ish or so as I leveled and got better gear etc however since then I've reached level 35 and the damage of Aimed Shot has not increased at all really despite going from Rank 1 to Rank 5. It appears all damage is being calculated as if its still Rank 1.

    Aimed Shot Rank 5 does 1281 - 1619 damage.

Flourish Shot reduces targets armor by 20%

Sharp Aim Talent causes Aimed Shot to ignore 20% of targets armor.

    Bonus Damage +141

    Crit Multiplier 50%

All of these taken into account against mobs of same level and 20 levels lower than myself you would think your MINIMUM Aimed Shot Crit would be 1800+ or so. With extensive testing though every single Aimed Shot CRIT I get on these targets of same level and targets 20 levels below yield the same results of only 900 - 1500.

I've talked to a few other high lvl Gunslingers and they report getting the same results. Again I can't be sure of course but it seems like Aimed Shot is calculating the damage it does as if it was still Rank 1. Either way the damage is seriouslly off atm and is getting to the point its not worth using whatsoever at my level except for the talented knockback so hopefully we can get a fix real soon :x

  4. See sig for a vid of some gunslinger if ye haven't. Its from the last beta build but nothings really changed since then when it comes to mechanics and such except Aimed Shot actually worked right heh. Personally though I love Gunslinger PVP. We got plenty of defensive boosts and abilities while in cover as well as multiple knockbacks and roots to keep melee off us and such. It's definitely not the easiest of the class to PVP with but its amazing if ye get it down.
  5. The rolling into cover Aimed Shot bug is a known issue atm with a number of enviromental cover points and we can only hope it ggets fixed soon. In the meantime you can try to focus on using your own portable cover, dropping it behind a hard cover point for max benefit, to try and avoid this bug. By default you can use Shift+F to always manually drop portable cover instead of rolling into the nearest cover point or you can rebind this to a new key. You could also just put the crouch/portable cover ability on your hotbar and use it that way as well for the same effect.
  6. Solan, What do you think in regards to the talent "Hot Persuit" from tier 2 sab tree.

they way i read it, it is more a mobility talent that gives you a bit more damage when moving form cover to cover. Probably not the best leveling talent, but i can see it's uses for end game content.

The question is which talent to drop a point out of to get the 2 points in it to give it the 100% chance. Personally i'm thinking for end game, spacer is probably the best choice, but this is from just reading the talents and having no in game experience.

Otherwise the spare point would probably be best in either indipendant anarcy for AoE damage boost, SUB for utility or BMM if we get enough alacrity for it to be usefull.

Hot Purstui i don't really care for so much for one simple fact. Using it out of cover is nice but you still gotta stand still to cast it. I would much rather move out of cover throwing Flurries or Quick Shots while I move and wait until I drop my new cover to simply fire off a new instant cast charged burst. I figure if I gotta stand still to use it either way then using it in or out of cover really isnt much different and not really worth the 2 points.

  7. At level 50 you can choose between Champion bags and Battlemaster bags for your rewards for the lvl50 pvp daily and weekly quests. CHampion bags have centurion comms and a chance for a token for a piece of champion gear. Battlemaster bags have champion comms and a chance at a Battlemaster token.

Regardless you can not open Battlemaster bags until you are Valor Rank 60. They were also unique so you could not stash a bunch to open up later while you make the long journey to V60.

  8. You can still call them out on it in chat on your server and let people know and if this is indeed happening and everyone on the server finds out about it they should be quickly blacklisted at which point no one would stay in a warzone with them or do any form of pve content with em etc.

Funniest thing I find about this however is the quick easy wins, like win a premade rolls a pug, actually nets you far less of a reward than an actual good fight does so really these guys are missing out on tons of comms/xp/credits by doing things this way. Regardless its still quite lame.

Not to mention it'll be even more hillarious when they run into a situation they cant exploit their way through and their lack of honed skills will end up smacking them in the face. I remember back in beta we had a guild exploit their way through every huttball match for guaranteed wins. When we'd run into full lvl50 premades of this guild in Voidstar though we'd roll em so bad with a pug on the first phase theyd all ragequit and not even play the second phase lol. This happened even when we had 1 50, 1 24, and everyone else 14 and under against all their 50s roflstomp.

  9. Gunslinger/Sniper has been quoted as having top single target DPS atm and from my experience over the past 5 months of Beta Testing I am inclined to believe it. We do indeed have a lot of heavy hitting abilities and at higher level the way our numerous abilities flow together is really quite nice.

To those who say we quickly deplete ourselves or energy all I can say is either your only experiencing lower lvl content or not knowing how to play the class. All 4 times I leveled a Gunslinger to 50 and while at lower levels you had less abilities to work with and such energy did indeed go a lot faster, at higher levels energy is not an issue at all as long as you know what your doing.

We don't have the numbers of course due to no combat log and such but running a vast number of hard modes and some ops in the last build I always found myself pulling threat if I didn't use my threat dump at the right time and then continuously everytime it came off of cd or the tank wasn't up to par.

Either way it'll be awhile before all the exact numbers from the theorycrafters and detailed testing come in so things could have easily changed or turn out differently now, only time will tell. Regardless I love the Gunslinger and would continue to play it even if it was the lowest dps because its simply that much fun :)

  10. I can only really comment on Gunslinger builds but here goes. All 3 of these trees are pretty reliant on using cover a lot. Gunsligners also get the highest range of any class in the game. The three different trees under Gunslinger though pretty much boil down to the following.

Sharpshooter = Huge single target burst dps with lots of heavy hitting single target attacks.

Saboteur = Amazing aoe damage which still has some great single target potential but not as much as sharpshooter. Also a few damage over time effects but not nearly as much as Dirty Fighting.

Dirty Fighting = Heavy single target damage via DoT effects.

All 3 trees have various defensive and useful utility talents and all 3 can do great damage in general. Nexus Sharpshooter Guide has some great info on ALL of the abilities the Gunslinger gets with more detailed info on Sharpshooter stuff including builds.

  11. Huttball is the only one that is ever same faction vs same faction and that only occurs when theres not enough players in the q to form 2 teams. Hence why theres numerous reports of servers that are like 5:1 Imperial overpopulated if not worse getting the vast majority of their wz's to pop as imp vs imp huttball matches.
  12. Good old Wal-Mart, roflstomp, I boycotted them ever since i worked there unloading trucks and stocking at night and after my supervisor freaked out on us one night literally throwing stuff at us and assaulting us our store manager said theyd investigate it. A day later they said they saw no problems and we could shut up and deal with it or leave lol. Not to mention after getting copies of all my paperwork I found that their personnel manager had changed my tax forms on me and forged my initials on the changes... Boy did my lawyer have a ball with that one.
  13. Another thing worth mentioning is that Snipers and Gunslingers can and do a ton of damage but the vast majority of that damage is only doable while they are in cover, and guess what. If you los them they cant shoot you unless they follow you which is a lot more annoying to have to do when you have to keep dropping cover everytime you moved to use those high damage abilities. Outsmart your opponent and you will win ;p
  14. He is right on 1 point, the PVP is horrid

It is 100& PVE in the Bgs as the environment is the critical factor to winning and playing effectively, not player/class skill/abilities

World PVP is, at this time, non-existent.

Uhh theres no PVE at all in any of our PVP except if your unlucky or dumb in world PVP. Enviroment is a key factor in PVP in any and every single game out there lol.

  15. WoW players are going to have a hard time adjusting to having no gear/level I win buttons.

Lol yes they are and omg do I love it. Some people predict the world is gonna end in another great flood, well I can easily see the qq tears of all the former twinks being enough to cause such a flood lol.

  16. Video of a level 10 Sniper (with newbie gear!) toping damage in Voidstar warzone, just from today to prove a point:

    http://www.twitch.tv/taugrim/b/302697434

It's not the class or lvl. Its the skill of the player....

To go even further its the skill of the team that leads to wins. SWToR is far more focused on objectives and teamwork thatn simply padding numbers on the damage/kill charts. A team of ALL level 10s that work together and are somewhat organized will beat a team full of level 50s that aren't any day.

I had a PUG in beta where I was the only 50 and rest of my team was a 24 then all 14 and under that got put up against a full premade of level 50s in Voidstar and our team won without letting the attacking premade plant a single bomb. We had a good leader and people listened actually listened so we stayed well organized and actually worked together, thus the extreme overall level differences didn't mean anything at all.

That being said however there were indeed certain warzones where certain classes had quite a large advantage over all others but I haven't done any pvp on live yet to see if these issues have been addressed yet or not and if they haven't im sure they will be soon enough.

  17. Actually the other thing to note is the faster you win a match the less comms and all you get. Medals = comms and the quicker you roflstomp through a match the less medals you have time to build up. Just like when a match ends early due to not enough players, even if your team wins you don't get crap for comms and such cause you have no or only a few medals.
