  1. Because at a certain point major tech advances come to a leveling off. Where the advances come from is in new alloys, energy consumption, and the like are where advances come in. The are past huge sweeping jumps and more in a slower refining period and gradual gradient up. A good example in some sense is the internal combustion engine. Its realatively the same as when it was created, yet its been refined and tweaked since its conception for nearly 200 years.
  2. Now having it contained all within the game is a double edge sword. While it makes it convenient one one hand. it also makes it highly inconvenient on the other. Because if someone wants to check to see what might have changed, they have to log into the game to do so, which might or might not be an option at that time. I check a lot of things from my phone. Which of course cant log into the game. So unless I am sitting at my desktop and in game I wouldnt know there was a change. Now do I think a slightly more fleshing out of the current system needs to be done. Of course. It needs depth indeed.
  3. I have always lost a day in any mmo I have played due to maintenance. Even living in the US. Mostly due to my jobs and locations and a lot of the people I play with do as well. As servers currently go down at midnight for me, which is about 45 mins after I get home. But I do think the EU should get a separate time for their maintenance.
  4. Sorry to say that I have friends coming in all the time, and if they or I was unable to roll on the side they were or the opposite class as they are on a starting planet it would be more than just a little frustrating. From these forums and the amount of threads over options it would just add to it. Because people would not have the option of playing with said friends.
  5. How would you suggest they do this? its peoples choice on which side they roll on. If they cap new players from rolling imp or what ever class then that would cause a whole slew of people to become angry. I dont see how fractions can be addressed when its not in the hands of the devs on who rolls what.
  6. I have that same card and run on high (though shadows off) but then again processor also makes a big difference. Even if it meets the speed requirement.
  7. Oh I can agree, but that can be straightened out with system tweaking and difficulty raising in a sense. I was simply stating that the system on principle was a far better idea than simple raiding. Now on execution well that is where it comes down too and that needs some changes.
  8. And I stated in my original post, things need tweaking. That they arent were things should be. in difficult of those things and the system as a whole. I understand that gear drop rates are extremely high. And tokens as plural is simply that, a generalization and splitting hairs in truth. As far as say the aesthetics of the armor, there I can consed in a difference but not a stat difference. Your original post was simply why you think things are wrong that there needs to be a raid grind to get the best. I simply offer how a system based around commendations/tokens can work and allows all who face challenging content be it hardmodes or operations (the difference been time spent in a week/month/year) would have access to same stat gear. Not handing it out like candy. Again I also stated the system needs to be tweaked/fixed or how ever you want to state it. It should come down to Challenge/time=reward.
  9. I do talk about time devoted. Everything would be based on time. Longer OPs = more tokens over shorter Flashpoints. It would equate to time given. If you put in 20 hrs in a week you would have an appropriate level of tokens for that time. Though someone who put in 20 hours in a month would at the end of that time have the same number of tokens. The key part being the 20 hrs a week would therefor have at the end of the same period 80hrs over just the 20hrs. So it is still rewarding those who put in the time. No once did I say it would be the same tokens for those that did 5hrs of flashpoints over those who did 20 hours of Operations in a week.
  10. I think the token system works overall for all, sure it needs to be tweaked as well as difficulty for several end game contents. Hardmode and end game Flahspoints should be build around challenging of 4 man groups, take less time and provide less commendations. This is for those whom dont have the same amount of time available to them to raid. where it would take so many runs through such places and equal so many hours. Where Operations would be build around challenging an 8 man group, take more time but provide more commendations. So those who have more hours (though equivalent in time spent with the flashpoints) But because they put more time into these in a week they would there for acquire this gear at a faster pace. This style system would there for allow all whom have put in the time (though over greater time for some than others.) in challenging content.
  11. Some people talk about that gear and raiding is the only reason people stick around after hitting end game. That is silly, many people hit "end game" levels and stick around doing other things, putting in as many hours (though not in the same period of time) as raiders. Those that raid hard core yes would get the items faster than some one who is only able to put in a fraction of the time in a given week. Why should those people not be allowed access to the same stats that the raiders have? simply because they didnt devote hours and hours in a week over that of a month? The current system can use some tweaks sure. Challenge can come from hardmode flashpoints built around what is challenging for 4 man groups and where time to complete is shorter than an Operation. Then sure the flashpoints should provide fewer commendations over the Operation. Operations challenge should be that for 8 man groups and give more due to longer times to complete. This is something WoW failed at, it rewarded those who had the time to devote (most of the time several nights in a week and several hours each night/day) over those with less time, but whom were wanting to seek a challenge and have an option at better gear. Most whom wanting a system like this also understood that it would take longer to acquire this gear due to the less time put in at a single day or weekly period. The token system is an attempt to move towards something like this, and again I have said it probably needs some tweaking but it is far better than simply rewarding those who have more time in a week than those who dont, but are willing to work for the gear in an alternative way.
  12. For the most part my cybertech mods can outpace a planets mods even from the commendation vendors. For just the armor in the last 7 levels of them I have 4 purples and 5 blues. Along with the mods and even a few other objects I can craft are blue and purple. Which keeps me more than up on armor and stats, so much so that quest items arent even reasonably close to the same quality as my orange gear. Sure level 50 pvp and raid stuff might be better, but you invest a lot more time in getting those items than you would crafting an item.
  13. Well apparently you havent done Tat. I have fallen off a cliff, been chased by republic guards, avoided high level(heroic) zones, have traveled well off the prescribed roads on the map. on another note. those that want to fly between planets manually, what of all the complaints of travel to other planets take to long? And for that being broken up from the main hub. Its because both rep. and emp. have a city there and share the bulk of the map with their own smaller bases in the middle.
  14. Just tonight, was running around tat. had three instances going. And I saw at least three dozen people through out the whole map. As for wow, out side of the so called capital cities. I would see maybe a dozen if lucky in zones as I leveled, outside of new zones with the expansions. As for space ports being big, they are space ports, they are suppose to seem big. but its for coming and going. Besides, what is the point in standing around in a city? I have heard its about a community, being a community. But you dont have to stand around in a city to be a community.
  15. People have talked about having to go through the same content again and how difficult it is and ect. AC is a class. Re-specing it shouldnt be an option. Take another game. I rolled first a human mage, found out I did not like it, I couldnt respec it to warlock. Instead you have to re-roll. and if you take human, GASP you replayed the same content. You would replay the same content if you rolled anything that was human. The whole point of AC is that it is your class. Those first 10 levels help you learn the mechanic's and play style for the upcoming class. In many games I had countless alts that were all low level. (played for around five hours) To see if I liked said class and countless times it was through replayed content. It happens when you start new classes.
