  1. Hey thanks guys for all the feedback. I'm a little surprised that the gear SWToR offers my class specifically is so full of accuracy that I can't use. I any case I've now gotten rid of all Accuracy that I can, substituting it with Power, Surge and Alacrity, and my dps has gone up by 200 just from that alone. I don't know what changes will come in 2.0, but I do hope Concealment Operatives get some dps buffs, as we are pretty crappy in PvE now compared to others, and that Accuracy won't be overly important.
  2. Hey all, I want to try to get operation PvE ready with my stabby agent and am unsure about a few things. I hope some of you can help me out. I read somewhere that I need 110 % Accuracy, 30 % Crit and 75 % Surge and then get Power for the rest. Which tab in the drop down box in my character screen do I need to look at for this, the Ranged or the Tech tab? The Accuracy rating is vastly different depending on which I look at. I also read some places that Accuracy is completely useless for Concealment Ops, in which case I just want to load up on Power instead. Is this true? Thanks.
  3. You're wrong. HM is for running a more challenging flashpoint. It just happens to have better rewards. Story is for both modes.
  4. Sure it is a point of view I don't however single out to punish or spite and I'm not jaded nor bitter. That's a pretty strange claim to make, my friend. I skip through the scenes more often than not, just so you know, so I'm not even watching them that often. I only wish this was a matter of efficiency and not childish impatience. That way when someone says "SKIP SKIP FFS you *******" to us occasional watchers and threatens to kick us, I could be sure that that person was only interested in improving our overall gaming performance and making us better players. I think we agree in principle on the fact that noone deserves to be mistreated, whether they want to skip or watch the scenes. The problem I feel is that the focus shifts from story to grind when reaching max level and some people forget that the story is still there for people to enjoy. Some actually still do, and it is their right to enjoy it because that's how BW made it and they paid for it.
  5. See that's the whole problem with this discussion. It's all a matter of point of view. You see it that way which makes me selfish. I see if from another perspective, making the skippers who kick selfish. My point of view has been mentioned numerous times by myself and others, but to recap: Everyone has paid for the game to play the game as it was intended. The game includes cutscenes, in ALL modes. Many people, including me, can enjoy the cutscenes more than once, even more than 10 times, because we feel that BioWare have made them enjoyable. Who are you, or anyone else, to say what I can or cannot do with the product I've purchased. The way I see it, the cutscenes are default. Somehow the impatient people (yes, I went there) decided its the norm and the duty for everyone to skip, so they can earn their commendations 5 minutes faster (BT and Esseles notwithstanding). I find that decidedly impatient, intolerant AND selfish. But as I've said, its a point of view. There are two camps here, and we are never going to agree on this.
  6. I won't whine about that because I'm not the selfish one. I'll just put those people on ignore. It's a win-win for both parties.
  7. I think I'll just play the game as intended. WITH cutscenes if I'm in the mood for it. I'll get the commendations same as you to buy the same things and fulfill the same goals as you. It just take a few minutes more.
  8. This is starting to be a sadly common tendency. Impatient kids only wanting their next commendation-fix or social point-fix demanding that other players forego parts of the game that were meant to be played. I think people should watch their cutscenes if they want to and put on ignore the ones that act like jerks.
  9. Good post OP, I agree to everything except 6 and 7, due to reasons someone else has mentioned above. Otherwise good rules to play by.
  10. Well by my observation its more like 50-50, if that, and I'm sure other people will give other numbers. How many times do the speed-run guys actually ask beforehand if people are ok with skipping, to establish what people want in the first place, and how many times do they just assume? By my observation the ratio of assumers is more like 9/10.
  11. Indeed you can try to vote-kick if you like. Perhaps you will even find enough like-minded people to win the vote and get rid of the non-skipper. That's how the system works. I for one would not vote against anyone wanting to watch, and it looks like I'm not the only one. And you know, perhaps watching the same stuff many times IS indeed enjoyable to some. For instance the Star Wars movies (org. trilogy). I'm a huge fan and have seen those at least 20 times. These cutscenes are not of the same quality by far, but if someone enjoys them, neither you nor I have any right to decide to what extent that person should watch them. They paid for the right to watch.
  12. Haha, hostage. Yes, a terrible ordeal to have to watch 5 minutes of cutscenes. The humanity. The player paid for the right to watch the cutscenes. No amount of conveniently phrased "democracy" can change that.
  13. I had a PUG run today in Black Talon with a couple of what I'll describe as immature impatient obnoxious kids, screaming in chat for me (and the fourth guy) to skip the cutscenes. Even after a few seconds of video, we were generously showered with "skip, SKIP FFS" and "SPACE you *******", which always gives other people a nice fuzzy feeling inside. Now, instead of perhaps trying with "Please, can we skip the cutscenes?", which I would have agreed to, the comments instead convinced me to make it a point to watch every single second of dialogue in the flashpoint, just to annoy those kids. And boy did it ever. Sadly I've seen this impatient and obnoxious attitude become pretty common when doing flashpoints, as if skipping is viewed as must-do and expected. A lot of people don't expect people to want to watch this stuff, even though BioWare put it there for us to watch. I for one really enjoy this dialogue and watch it when I can, and will continue to do so in flashpoints far more times than just one. These (very well done) cutscenes do represent part of the default game that everyone has paid for. Some people have actually not seen this stuff yet and should be given every chance to. "But its just Black Talon!!! Skip FFS". Doesn't matter what it is, if someone enjoys it, let them watch. You can wait 3 more minutes to finish the flashpoint. So you guys out there in a hurry for some reason, other people are far more inclined to skip the story stuff for you if you're not being a *ick about it And for those who act like those two kids and wind up in a group with me, bring plenty of popcorn.
  14. I agree with the OP. Please extend the cantina playlist as I'm sick of listening to the same stuff over and over and over on the fleet.
