  1. I have been a huge Star Wars fan since I was 7. I saw the Empire Strikes Back in the theaters, not the release but it was still showing. I remember waiting to see Return of the Jedi when it was released in theaters. I grew up on Star Wars. I know a lot of people that did. I have played many of the games with the Star Wars title ranging from Arcade Star Wars games in the ‘80s to SWTOR. When I first learned of the MMO Star Wars Galaxies, I was so excited I couldn’t wait. SWG, the first Star Wars MMO, was a great game but over time the mistakes made within the game and idea make the game ‘easier’ ruined it overall. Now comes along SWTOR. A MMO based on two single player games whose success was astounding. So many people I know were biting at the bit for a chance to play this game. I know I was. I was so anxious to get in and start playing and hanging out with friends who are bigger fans of Star Wars then me. Now I am not the lore police or anything like that. I enjoy Star Wars, plain and simple. I have to admit, I am still disappointed with the game. Not the quests or the story or the hard work that went into making this game. My first disappointment with the game is the armor. Who in their right mind would even consider submitting some of this stuff they are passing off as armor…even in a game? What the community has been given is more a side show then something Darth Revan or Jedi Master Yoda would wear. I don’t need spines of coral coming out of my head or missiles or spikes or whatever hanging off my shoulders. The concept of sleek and simple must be a foreign concept to the armor designers. I’m sorry but I don’t think a fan on my head makes the armor better. My personal opinion, the best looking armor in-game is still the PvP armor you can obtain at lvl40. Secondly, my largest disappointment with the game is the actual class and faction makeup. I know it is estimated to be between 150 and 200 million for development, but the class and faction make up is still, in my opinion, poorly thought out. The game is set in a time when the galaxy is at a fragile peace between the Republic and the Sith Empire, the two major factions. Now I would capitalize on that myself, but I would have introduced another faction; a 3rd faction where several of the current classes would have fit right where they belong. The Sith and Republic both have the force using, lightsaber wielders. Both sides have troops/soldiers and both sides make use of intelligence operatives. I hate to say it but mirrors of each other. If you had to send your troops to invade Naboo, would you leave intelligence assets or that really evil sith lord you hate working for behind before going to battle...OR..would you grind it to dust with everything you have at your disposal. Personally, I would grind it to dust with everything I have. The wild cards would be the smugglers, bounty hunters, and another class to help tip the tide or equalize everything. Make another class to compete with the lightsabers. Give them vibroswords with cortosis. A martialist whose melee abilities are renowned and feared. The 3rd class would be able to side with either faction and possibly switch after a grueling and lengthy process of gaining the trust of that faction. Sort of like the light side/dark side meter but something that would allow that member to access the higher content of that faction. Or make it where they have to choose a side after a reaching a certain level. At any rate, something where the choice for the wild card would determine which faction they wanted to solely “work” for. The criminal aspect of the Star Wars universe is as expansive and rich in story as the main factions of the game. The upcoming expansion is, in my opinion, a mere shell of the what that aspect of the game can offer. Blockade running, actual smuggling missions, bounties for bounty hunters; fighting with the other criminal elements. They would have a story just as rich and in-depth as the main two factions. My last disappointment is the space limitations. Not that I want to fly around in a capital ship but the inability to participate in actual “star wars”. Combat in space. Not the missions, but something where I could jump on a turret and help tackle fighters or join a fighter group to attack a capital ship. The fighters/bombers blow the ship up, or the ship is able to fend off the attacks; something where the aspect of PvP space combat would come into play. Despite my personal disappointments with the game, I still play. It’s freaking Star Wars, of course I am going to play. The idea of using my lightsaber on a jawa is far too tempting to resist. I realize this may fall on deaf ears or possibly have been mentioned before. I really am not concerned about what the reactions to this are; if any. I am not a huge forum presence, if at all. I am a fan of the game and the universe the game is based on. That’s it for me. If could say one thing to the developers or investors, it would be, make the game Star Wars. Not some clone with a different name. Make Star Wars.
  2. This kinda makes me upset about the whole legacy system. I thought I was familiar with the legacy system and worked on getting enough credits to unlock several of perks for my LEGACY. I have to admit, I was unaware they were not linked. I was very excited about this system and was working to benefit all my characters. I spent the allocated credits to unlock several of the perks to benefit ALL my characters only to find out they weren't linked. At first, I thought it was a bug. So I decided to dig a bit more into the mechanics and there it was...the LEGACY isn't linked to your all your characters. Whats the point then? why have a patriarch and give the system the ability to create your own family if you really dont get anything except a crappy wpn you out level in a few missions and make drops for more legacy gear impossible to find in some cases. I didn't care about cost. Credits are credits and can be made. But the idea of being able to level alternate characters at a faster pace was very appealing. This is more disappointing then anything else in the game.
