  1. Worst idea ever. Stats on gear for comps means keeping track of 14 more slots times x characters per toon times y number of toons. It was a nightmare from hell keeping up with all that before. No thank you. W H O O S H "Companion gear stats mattering" was removed well before we ever had the chance to duel in the arena on Zakuul and gain the Mysterious Stranger title. BUT....if we're going to go back to horrible RNG gearing, sure, let's also revisit past bad things we've already moved on from....
  2. Nautolans are only fully-implemented during character creation for some of the basic classes. It looks as though the only one where the customizations really are available and Nautolan heads show up when you care about them (at least from what I've seen so far) is Bounty Hunter. We might see something different in a future patch....but for now BH. And yes, that means your tresses/headtails need to be in some sort of a wrap and still might clip with bulkier heavy armor.
  3. Adding to all of this: Most of us have at least a couple of moddable sabers, pistols, etc. in our collections that we may want to use on characters. Left hand side pieces are never "seen" by anyone else unless they inspect our character, and right-hand side equipment can always be papered over in the outfit designer. But....mainhand weapons, and offhand sabers/pistols, we have to use what is available. And right now, it's pretty doggone painful to get usable hilts/barrels for those items. If there's no "weapon designer" to let us override, and we're stuck using Bubba's Boltblaster Pistol or random non-moddable saber instead of the item we lucked into (or for some, whaled into) and love....well, it's going to be another item that sours people on their overall experience. I detect a great disturbance in the average GTN price of Tython Force-Master Lightsabers...
  4. Bumping this. There are now parts of the Fleet that are "shuttered" because there's not enough "content" to fill them. Meanwhile, there's content that used to be on Fleet and was removed.... I'm not saying this is the be-all end-all of "content"...but it was fun, and more importantly there are plenty of folks who joined in the last 3 years that only know about Section X because they heard it's how to get HK-51. #sadface
  5. Pay to Win usually refers to paying *real*world*money* for stuff that gives an advantage that, in the purist interpretation *cannot* be countered by gameplay. . Given the amount of credits some folks are sitting on (billions) compared to average/newer players (tens of millions at best), if there is something where throwing 100 million credits at a vendor will allow me to simply buy set-bonus items from the vendor on fleet...then you're both right IMHO. It's not what normally gets called "pay to win" but it would clearly be a case of "folks who have been around for forever, or took advantage of exploits to get credits but didn't lose all their gains, will be head-and-shoulders above the average player as soon as the expansion hits". I'm not talking about someone who had the patience to grind for 258s on Ossus, I'm talking about someone who could have come back after two+ years, found out that their 200 million credits from old exploits never got taken away, and then goes straight from e.g. level 65 to full new set bonus.
  6. ...and if you *did* get a set of complete 230 set bonus gear, from using Master's Datacron, the set bonus is now only valid through level 74 and I can't even figure out any way to transfer the BoP gear to any other character. Hope I'm missing something or that this is an oversight as I have a lot of 230 set bonus armorings that are bouncing around in Legacy sets right now, and if I can't keep those for leveling then I'll be pretty annoyed...but if I actually still *have* the original pieces but they're still BoP then it doesn't quite seem right.
  7. Overall I'm in favor of the new character UI on the PTS. However, I've found that there appear to be some missing pieces. Hope there is a plan to bring anything forward into new UI that we currently have unless there's truly no use for it. Specifically, I can't find any way to "unify colors" on a companion now....which means that if I somehow believe their One True Outfit is what I had them in for years until now, when I try to put that on them sometimes it looks like a junkyard (since old companion UI did allow Unify Colors). Did I miss something? U R hurting mai Spaze Barbeez
  8. The name / location of the Mission. Onderon, [DAILY] To Catch a Killer Your faction / Class. Sith Assassin Is the Mission clear on what is required of you? NO. Once accepted I have an "area indicator" implying that the area to complete the mission is the map area to the "east" of the quest giver. If I go in that area looking to "Track Evidence to Find The Assassin" I find nothing close to the area indicator, and then find a non-clickable astromech droid after a while which shows "Evidence" on mouseover. If I read the quest description, it tells me to "Hunt for clues of whereabout [sic] of the murder [sic] in the hunting lodge villa." If I then go to the hunting lodge I've got nothing. Help? Is the Mission too easy or difficult? Unable to progress, can't guess on difficulty EDIT: Okay, it appears the area to the "east" of "Hunting Lodge" really is "Hunting Lodge Villa" but I've gone back and the wrecked astromech still isn't clickable.
  9. Holy crap quoted for truth. Wish I'd read this before I disintegrated 4 renown crates of crap. BW, if there's more than one option for how to make things go away that are in Renown crates and we don't want...fercrudsakes at least give us a "disintegrate or deconstruct or" option bar, with things greyed out if we can't do them?
  10. ^^ This. I have done Ops in the past but it's intermittent at best. I'm too old and have too many other commitments to be able to regularly say I'll spend 45 minutes plus in a group, even in guilds I'm in. I'm not someone who loves PVP. GC in its original form was horrible but the "evolved GC" in 5.x gives mostly-solo players at least a prayer of getting set-bonus items and feeling as though there's a progression. So far from opening Renown Crates I feel as though I'm back in original GC or some even worse place. I did the Dxun op with folks who were skilled and we still weren't able to complete. My character was geared with "new Onderon" green 268 gear. With no boss drops, I came out of the Op with 6 renown crates, opened them all and disintegrated all but two cosmetic pieces....but after all that I got nothing useful, and _65_ tech fragments. I'm not going to spend tomorrow hammering on Hammer Station just to be able to figure out whether Kai sells anything I care about.
  11. I created a BH Nautolan from scratch, picked its discipline, and still got no gear when I touched the terminal on Hutta to transport to Odessen. On a Sith Assassin I logged in (level 62, just finished vanilla story and haven't done any expansions) and went to Odessen via ship on the "real" copy, touched the terminal, and got only money no gear. This character then went to Onderon and had no clickable anything useful (trainers, vendors, quest givers, etc.) On the "bad red name copy" of the same Sith Assassin I logged in at level 62, took my ship to Korriban, clicked the terminal at the starter area, and this time I got teleported to Odessen but got gear, money, etc. Also all the Onderon quest givers, trainers, mailbox etc. were all present. Looks as though many things are still...perhaps not quite implemented correctly?
  12. It is "expected" at this point that the next new planet will have datacrons. Ossus having datacrons is a good indicator that future planets will as well...
  13. Bumped for great justice. Those are 98% my list of desire-ments - so if there's some guild out there who would like a couple of new recruits, please reply.
  14. Actually, it's more (worse?) than "you have to be eligible for the daily reward". If you don't have the latest (Umbara) flashpoint unlocked on that character and selected as available, then even if it appears you are eligible for the daily award it's likely your flashpoints won't count.
  15. Below the line below are the 2000 characters that I just submitted when I officially unsubscribed earlier today. I actually deleted my payment renewal method on the day (just after 5.0 dropped) that CXP from golds/elites was nerfed (which we all saw coming, because the devs didn't do even a basic evaluation of GC XP sources that might need a weekly limit). Since I didn't have enough room in 2000 characters, a few other thoughts: - I approve of the notion that Galactic Command was supposed to remove "ninja looter" problems. Letting everyone who PUGs for a FP or OP make sure they get some benefit is Not A Bad Idea and I know I still saw related issues in 4.0. - I also agree that having a single way to track progress, and maybe even a single currency, were worthwhile goals. - Almost all the other ideas of GC XP not being a legacy item, having to grind on multiple alts, not being able to get higher "value" tokens to use on alts when someone had done the grind on one main character., not being able to get tokens in general, making a new character "grind" instead of getting rewards based on actual performance in that event...yeah, that's horrible. - The summer DvL event wasn't close to perfect but it had some very worthwhile characteristics even for a "do this, get random boxes" event: -- There were clearly defined goals and rewards. Do this thing, that could be scheduled in playtime over weeks, get this achievement or thing. -- The gambleboxes were RNG, but they came in large quantities. Looking at 5 or 10 gambleboxes, there was at least some chance that something useful might pop up. (Okay, I had to get almost to Eternal on 5 different servers to get half of the armors I was targeting...so gambleboxes were still not my savior.) Right now I have at least 15 alts at level 55+, with 5 level 70 alts at GC level 12 or less and another 4 at higher levels up to GC level ~25. None of them have "found" more than 2 set pieces at 230, and since I can craft 228s in all areas I have 70+ GC levels to grind through before I'm likely to get anything that's really relevant. My only way to get upgrades that are worthwhile is the combo of grinding GC XP, trying to 'git gud" enough to run HM OPS or perhaps PvP, and maybe begging someone from a guild to craft me something with mats I provide. This is supposed to be enjoyable, not a second job. Please fix. Oh by the way - I've also dropped Real Money on cartel coins over the DvL event to allow me to unlock items I'd gotten through DvL and pick up other things along the way. I didn't think I was a whale...but until these things get fixed there's no more $ in the SWTOR pipeline. =-=-=-=-= I created my account in July 2010 and played during beta but did not purchase the game at release due to a mismatch of time I had available and game complexity. I subscribed soon after the game went F2P and kept paying a subscription for many months when I didn't log in. I rejoined the game and started playing frequently during the lead-up to 4.0. I was not a huge fan of the KotFE storyline which seemed forced and poorly-written, but I finally got all 8 stories complete to level 50 and then added more alts during the DvL event this summer. Along the way DvL finally got me to start playing alts with guilds on three different servers, as I was always a solo casual player due to Real Life commitments. I had hopes that KotET would have good writing and good chapters, particularly after the well-done Shroud of Memory/HK chapter. However, I removed my recurring payment plan during the initlal 5.0 release on the day when gold/Elite mobs were nerfed from 10 CXP down to 1. If the best Galactic Command plan didn't account for gold mobs (maybe have a maximum number killed per week?) and needed a nerf that quickly, then there was little hope for GC XP as anything other than a huge grind. Although the announcements today of a plan to bring back MMO endgame activities (both story/daily and PvE Ops) are a good start, I am still not satisfied much less happy with the state of things. - The first new Ops boss is in the Zakuul pantheon but is also a droid on Iokath? I want to see the writers find a good way out of that mess. - I have over a dozen alts at 55+ that don't share much gear....but the 5.2 announcement didn't fix the obvious breakage in current GC XP gain methods across a Legacy. - I'm not a PvPer but I do GSF...and neither is getting all the fixes that are needed right now, I won't say I'm out forever, but I'm out for now. SWTOR devs need to both deliver on the promises made during today's livestream, and also take into account the remaining issues.
