  1. Do you have any idea how complicated would it be? Not to mention they would probably dumb down both PVE and PVP for the sake of easier balancing. Healing and DPS can be both adjusted fairly well with Trauma in PVP. This thread is obviously aimed at PVP problems yet you keep commenting with no experience in the matter whatsoever. Just to highlight one. It's not that easy as you imagine with your PVE-exclusive tunnel vision. And if we have separate PVP skills what happens on PVP servers? I get attacked during leveling in open world. Do I get to still attack the mobs with my PVP abilities? Can I bug out and use PVE stuff on the enemy? Rift is much simpler than SWTOR, they aren't even comparable. Let me reiterate. Devs need to listen to feedback. Trust me, the game could be really close to balanced. But when Sorcs can both kite and do ranged dps with amazing defense, you have basic MMO problems. Every class needs to have pros and cons. Right now Sorcs have only pros. Mercs/Snipers and to a degree Maras have mostly cons. That's the heart of the problem. If it was just a matter of L2P we would still have whiners but us more experienced players could tell them in good conscience that it takes time to learn the class but it's gonna be great later on. Right now even top ranked players can tell you their own class sucks balls (again, Mercs, Snipers, Maras, Lethality Operatives etc.). So yeah, we won't "figure it out" and "every class can be equally good in PVP" is just not true.
  2. Couldn't agree more. People maining Sorcs will do everything to justify their current OP status saying it's not them but everyone else and it's a L2P issue. Bull.****. I extend my invitation to these people too. Play a Merc. Play a Sniper. Play a Mara. Do a couple dozen solo arenas and regs and then come back and tell me how balanced the game is as of 3.3.x and how 4.0 will be better. The combat team will have to pull their heads out of their asses and realize they make no one happy. Veteran raiders couldn't care less about phase walk or walking bubble, while ranked players (not maining Sorcs) will tell you how pathetic these attempts at "balancing" are. Although they never said specifically that the game was meant to be balanced.. A couple of pages back I have expressed my views and concerns in length and I said I have faith in them, but it doesn't really matter since it's always just us steaming here, no dev treads here. Dump the bucket of crap on Friday and see what happens. Or not because they are doing an outstanding job ignoring their long-term paying customers. Bioware is so damn luckly this is a Star Wars title, if it was any other franchise very few of us would have put up with their incompetence.
  3. Yeah solo ranked is dumb but tell that to Bioware after they removed ranked 8v8. If we both read the most recent info dump, we know both IO and Virulence are getting nerfed so we really can't tell if Mercs and Snipers are gonna be that good in PVE. I don't say they will fall back into the mediocre parsing classes but Sorcs aren't in a bad positon compared to them. And these changes affect PVP in general. In 8v8 when everybody and their mother gets a gap closer nerfing HO and giving a measly 20 m backwards jump without any rootbreak or leap immunity (w/ no utility needed) is just not enough. You know it, I know it and Maker knows they know it. It's become fashionable to blame all PVP problems on ranked and while it's true, regs are just as affected when it takes 3 average damage dealers to take down a freaking healing sorc.
  4. Yeah a lot of us know where to look for more up-to-date info but Sorcs will still be incredibly op compared to other ranged classes. Hell if you heard what is currently being done with the Merc's Supercharge, you know these changes are even more outrageous.
  5. It's obviously the same as before but now movement doesn't break it.
  6. I dare, no I just ask any Bioware dev to tell me in good conscience that Mercs and Sorcs in 4.0 will be even comparable. We have all acknowledged and dealt with your major ***** for Sorcs in the recent patches, but this has gotten out of hand. Even if you remove Force Mobility from Force Barrier it's still ridiculous. You give Mercs a 20m jump backwards but then you also add shadowstep for two classes and mad dash for warriors. But to "even things out" you nerf hold the line which let's be honest was only useful for PTs for mobility purposes. Do you see the problem here? I, as a long paying customer and thousands of others plead you guys to sit down and actually play a couple dozen of regs and arenas with all the specs. No brainstorm balacing, no theory-crafting rotations, no favoritism, just sit down and play your own game. After you realize why there is a 1500 rating difference between Mercs/Snipers and Sorcs/PTs, you can turn to the community and actually read our suggestions. You guys are smart. Every now and then you look past the EA-induced greed and do some real cool things like the Stronghold system and the new species. Not to mention the big one this year, KotFE. But you guys must know there is only so much hype the game can get from the movies and you'll be stuck with us veterans again. What keeps us subbed? ENDGAME. PVP. HM/NiM OPS. If you only want people to sub for a month or two, grab a couple thousand of cartel coins and leave the game, that's fine but it's not a smart and sustainable business model. PVP doesn't need a lot of tweaks. It needs your attention to us and an unbiased attitude. I understand your combat team is limited in staff. Get in touch with streamers and veteran players, I'm sure most of them would be more than happy to discuss these things with you. Please guys, we don't even ask for that extra mile. Just do a job you'd be honestly satisfied with and proud of. Thanks.
  7. Took a long break came back to see what's up with commando/merc dps. The only complaint I've ever had was that we had no means to break focus/escape. I managed to dig up the only dev response I could recall from almost 3 years back. 10.31.2012 , 04:04 PM "Hi everyone! I talked to Austin Peckenpaugh (Senior Designer) about Commandos and Mercenaries and their situation in PvP right now, and he had this to say: I think it's fair to say that Mercenaries and Commandos have escape issues. Admittedly, they can be very hard to catch when used correctly to hug corners, but a lot of that "escapability" falls aside when attacked by multiple melee enemies, at which point they just aren't quite tough enough to sustain without further escapes. We have plans for the future that should give Mercenaries and Commandos better escapes in PvP." Yes, it's been THREE YEARS. I mean holy crap, please for the love of the Force, can we do something about this already? Even if it's only gonna be fixed in KOTFE. If needed I'll gladly gather all that's been suggested in the past couple of years (they all revolve around the same idea, some of them are really great and constructive) if it means the class will finally be on par with the other ac-s. Thanks
  8. Yes and it's really annoying. My friends/guildmates don't understand how come I get stuck this often and it's ruining at least 1 out of 5 warzones a day. My main is an operative and I really don't have that much time to play so it'd be great if they fixed this soon.
