  1. Creeping Terror is a 2 sec root with a dot component. It does not build any resolve.
  2. Roots don't build resolve and I offered you a suggestion to your question that does in fact work very well against operatives and melee in general.
  3. The knockdown doesn't add much resolve. But yeah sure, the root will give the operative the survivability he needs to not be blown up while being guarded and healed.
  4. Maybe you missed the part where oper is getting nerfed, too.
  5. That is why you use Creeping Terror right after Overload, while you are strafing in the opposite direction. Your Overload can always have a root on it just like middle tree. 2 second root on a 9 second CD? That is powerful stuff right there. If a good madness sorc gets outside of Tendon Blast range I am not going to be able to get back on him without blowing Disappearing Act.
  6. It's being reversed in the wrong way and they are destroying the spec for PvP in the process. Yes Ops damage was over buffed. In my opinion (shared by many), our damage was right where it should be for PvP before 2.6 took place, (maybe low for PvE but I don't raid so I'm no expert), but the pvp community never asked for that buff. We wanted survivability similar to the Infiltration shadow. Anyone can read our suggestion threads and see the vast majority of us asking for that. I think they should not have increased SF by 14% and that they should have done a small nerf to Sucker Punch base damage since they added it to the surge talent and raised Flying Fists proc to 100%. But that is over and done with now and we, the concealment/scrapper players, are paying the price for the incompetence of the developers.
  7. Concealment ops are like one of the moles from Whack-A-Mole. You know that mole that was always glitched and stayed up too long so you could just whack (nerf) the crap out of it over and over? But hey the pain is finally ending because this mole won't ever stick his head up again after 2.7.

    PvP people

Most of the time they don't bother me, but then I only PvP in MMOs so I have had years of exposure to these types. I put the really, really bad ones on ignore. They don't bring anything meaningful to the match and I don't care if I don't read their callouts in chat because I know how to look at the map and play the numbers game. The worst ones are usually poor players anyway, so their chat is not missed at all. If they bother you that bad then leave the warzone if you end up on their team. Don't feel guilty, it is your money, you pay to play for enjoyment not to be irritated. For the ones who direct their anger straight at me, I either respond with a "<3" or ignore them completely. Make your own fun and don't let others spoil it for you.
  9. Bingo! ITT are shadowsins who see the operative getting beheaded in 2.7 and are afraid they are next on the chopping block.
  10. Yeah I looked just now too and it is gone. Weak.
  11. No offense, but I don't care about killing weak players who don't realize by the loud bang of my scattergun and the sudden appearance of a new enemy that I just opened on them. I learned early on in my Dirty Fighting testing days that opening with Shoot First in that spec (no KD) was usually a terrible idea. I am worried about the players who will be CCing me the moment I open and then kicking my teeth in. I am worried about Snipers who I am currently a hard counter too becoming another hard counter to me instead (of which I already have plenty of). As someone who always solo guards or attacks the enemy's weak node I end up in "duels" all the time.
  12. Enlighten me please. Breakdown your new opener for me so I too can see the light. Personally, I see the new opener as Hidden Strike followed by death. I won't be getting off any moves after that as I will be CC'd during my own GCD. I won't be putting anything in their resolve bar at all.
  13. Let me lay this out for you. The knockdown is being removed. Here is your opener right now: Hidden Strike>Shiv>Debilitate>Lacerate spam, etc... with you in control for the first 5.5 seconds or so...(Basic, popular opener just for the example, yes there are variations.) Here is your opener in 2.7: Hidden Strike>...and you're done now. You just got stunned, mezzed, slowed, netted or knocked back, likely a combination. At this point the vast majority of classes, hell probably all of them will proceed to ream you a new one. You have no control and now young Agent, you will die.
  14. Not anymore. As you mentioned in another post, there are some design changes incoming. Lethality is gonna wreck stealth.

    2.7 changes

Exactly, it was 1.5 seconds where the enemy couldn't react and now it's going to be an immobilize (root). Currently on live a common opener is 1. Shoot First, 2. Blaster Whip(or some other move), 3. Dirty Kick. After these changes (please correct me if I am wrong here), any player with good reaction speed will be able to stun, mez or punt me during the GCD of my Shoot First before I can Blaster Whip or even Dirty Kick. That, if true, not only kills the Scrapper opener, but is in fact a huge survivability nerf.

    2.7 changes

Loss of the knockdown on Shoot First is a huge survivability nerf, as well as the removal of one of the most iconic attack animations in the game. So now I can't open on anyone unless I have my own stunbreaker up? LOL! I think they did in fact listen to all the crying on the forums recently. Talk about feeding me my own medicine. I really don't see how a shorter CD on defense screen is supposed to balance this out. And I am reading correctly? Snipers now basically have their own version of Force Shroud?
  17. Is this an operative bug? On my scoundrel I see Sabo charge light up during a roll but I am unable to use it no matter how hard I spam that hotkey. Btw that is a great rotation, I often use it against alot of melee, of course firing my sabo charge the old fashioned way though. Glad you are back, your posts bring great insight to the class.
  18. I have always found Exploratory Surgery necessary for my playstyle. H2F and make them pay, heh. Here's my spec.
  19. You could grab the 10% increase in the lightning tree, just saying. Again, good madness players do just fine against concealment. And when Barrier is up they do make decent node guards. Better than many other classes, at that. You are the one who said solo guarding was the de facto strategy since release. Just pointing out that to be false. Negative Nancying will get you nowhere. Look, even operatives finally got buffed!
  20. Welcome to MMORPG PvP and gear grinds and that certainly is not the fault of the operative. Which brings up a funny point since an operative in crap gear vs an Obroan min/maxed enemy is like a mosquito to an elephant. It goes both ways.
  21. Risky click of the day. Was not disappointed.
  22. A well played madness sorc/balance sage is a great counter to my scrapper. Try having your bubble up at all times and the 30% dmg reduction during stuns in your skill tree. Find a guildie who plays a conc and duel him for practice. I think you are looking back through rose-colored glasses. Pre 1.2, having two guards on the off nodes was a very common practice. You only leave one guard if you only have one node since you are losing anyway. No risk, no reward. Before 1.2, in the heydays of the scrapper, it was a piece of cake to take out 2 defenders on my scrapper. From launch up until 1.4 I could take the off node from 1, 2, or even sometimes 3 people on my assault spec vanguard. If they were bad I didn't even need to use battle focus. Blame the lack of a matchmaking system if you are constantly vs a team that has multiple operatives and you have none of your own on your team. Again, as has been pointed out in all these operative threads, people are trying out the spec. It will most definitely simmer down after a little time has passed. Instead of crying foul against the operative, who received his first real buff in 23 months, why not take the high ground and post in threads seeking buffs to your respective classes?
  23. First off, he clearly explained that it was a montage of attacks on poorly geared or poorly played enemies. Second, if you actually paid attention to the clips and not just the big yellow numbers you would have noticed where they came from. 1. @:46 a 9185 Backstab(BS) on a 30K Sorc with WZ damage buff, Power relic(PR) buff and Tactical Advantage(TA) --A solid hit on a decently geared enemy with strong buffs up. Would have been around 7800 without the WZ buff. 2. @:51 a 8000 Hidden Strike(HS) on a 31K Sniper with PR buff --A solid hit in the higher end of the damage range on a decent geared medium armor target. 3. @:56 a 9296 HS on a 38K DPS Guardian with PR buff --An expected strong hit on a PvE geared target. 4. @1:43 9546 HS on a 32K Gunslinger with WZ buff --A strong hit on an equally geared enemy due to WZ buff, otherwise would have been around 8100. 5. @2:04 a 10059 SF and 9295 Explosive Probe on same PvE geared Guardian from #3 with WZ buff and PR buff --Again, bad gear and strong buffs to get the large numbers, witout WZ buff would be around 8500 and 7900 respectively. 6. @2:13 a 11316 SF on a 40.5K (??!?) Sage with WZ buff --PvE geared and Endurance Augments(??) plus big buff, otherwise would be around 9600. 7. @2:16 a 7000 HS on a 30K Guardian with no buffs --Expected hit on a decent geared enemy. 8. @3:26 a 9K BS on the same poorly geared Sorc from #6 --Expected and likely farmed in that WZ for big numbers. 9. @3:27 a 9142 HS on a 28K Sorc with PR buff with no bubble up. --Solid hit on a lesser PvP geared light armor target. 10. @3:34 a 10727 SF once again on the poorly geared Sage from #6 --I hope to encounter a 40K Sage/ Sorc someday. As you can see from 1, 2, 7, & 9 the hits on PvP geared enemies are not insanely OP and the rest were against obviously juicy targets. Imagine what kind of Shadow Strike, Force Breach and Project crits you would have seen against that 40.5K Sage... Your Shadow won't be shelved for long. Once you play the Op a bit at 55 (lowbies will be a blast in the 40s and early 50s, of course) and realize the OP burst isn't as OP as you thought and you are melting under enemy fire like a candle to a flame, you'll realize you had it better on the Shadow.
