Go into "my account", then select "character transfer", then scroll down to the bottom and hit the button to start a transfer.

It would be great if they started off by firing anyone in the gear art/design department. Those are some serious baddies. Then, maybe, they could move forward with some great ideas. While these same horrific designers stay employed, the cause is lost I'm afraid. Weathermen is probably the only other field of work you can get in to, and be so bad at your job, yet stay employed.

Sure would be nice if they "released" all the names of characters that haven't been active for 6 months or something like that. I think games generally put numbers or something on the end of those names and if that player ever comes back, they have to rename the character upon login.

I'm afraid you're gonna have to use the funky characters, or a bunch of ' in your name. BW's naming policies are plain terrible. Actually, they would have to improve to move up to terrible.

Free to play players need to "see something" while they are playing for free to make them subscribe? They ARE seeing it, you just want them to be able to continue to play the game virtually unhindered for free. They get more then enough "seeing of the game" to know if they want to subscribe. Personally, I think F2P players get FAR too much as it is. I can understand taking a look at the game to see if you wanna pay, but to cry and whine because you/them think they should basically get the entire game for free is ridiculous. They need to quit being such cheap asses and help support the game. If $15 per month is even something they have to consider, then they have more problems then a game, they need to work on real life first.

I've used the same character name since 1986 playing my first computer game. Have used it for every MMO I played. You can always do what I do.....if I can't get my name, I don't play that game. Simple. Games like UO were great, because you could have more then one person with a name. Heck, on Great Lakes shard, there was a guild that had about 10 "Madonna's". That could be bad or good, depending on how you look at it, but in most situations with games like SWTOR, one of the players with a specific name end up never playing the game again, so you could still have your name and not worry about someone else running around with your name most of the time. There's been a handful of occasions where I've installed an MMO or other games and if my name was taken, /uninstall. Simple as that.

Have only briefly skimmed the forums, but haven't seen anything recent posted about future character transfers. Has there been an update on when this might happen? I'd like to get back to playing the game, just not gonna re-sub until I can get my characters on the same server. Seems like it shouldn't be that hard.

Since I quit back in March, I've checked the forums a few times here and there to check the temperature of the community and how it looked at the current state of the game. It didn't look great, but I figured since I had been paying for the game the whole time, perhaps I should come back and try playing it again. I was very disappointed that the Warhammer PvP team was brought in for TOR, and my fears proved correct as the PvP here was...not great. The lack of virtually any open world PvP was a downer as well. I'd say the balance was/is terrible, but since I play an Arsenal Merc, my opinion is probably negatively biased. Anyhoo, since I've came back, I've really enjoyed the game much more then my initial go 'round. The PvP is pretty much the same, but for some reason it seems there's more to the extras, like gear etc... I've also made an effort to try and get in a little PvE and that's also been fun. When I get down to it, there really is quite a bit of content to this game, and I've only got the one character. Never been much of an alt-aholic. So, if anyone is like me and considering giving the game another shot, I'd highly recommend it. It's not perfect and theres a whole list of things I'd like to see added, but if you join a guild and give it a true shot without being nit picky and overly negative about something you wish was different, you might just find yourself having a good time before you know it.

The servers have already experienced dramatic drop in population. On POT5, we have already lost our additional instances in several places (not the Fleet). No need to jump the gun with opening additional servers. One thing that should be done, and fast, is allowing paid character xfers.

You're giving the Devs far too much credit. The PvP team as well as the group/team that handles BH's would have to do a LOT of improvement to move up to "horrible".

I had to seriously lawl at how incorrect this guide is. What's even more funny is how many people agreed with it. No wonder 98% of the "pvp'rs" are truly baddies.

Resolve doesn't work....period. This game does seem to revolve around chain stuns etc..., would be great if that were changed.

This is quite helpful. I originally quit playing about 4 days after official launch day because I had no idea what to do after hitting level 50 and was bored. Started playing again about a month ago, but was just leveling alts. Not being in a guild doesn't help my cause any, but with this guide I'll at least have an idea of what I need to do. Thanks

Over all I'm very disappointed with the CE vehicle. It does look cool, but a person would use it for 15 levels (usually a couple days) and that's it. IMO, the CE vehicle should auto upgrade to what ever speed you have trained. Make CE owners still pay for the training like everyone else, but if you train 100 or 110 speeder piloting, let the CE vehicle automatically go that speed. On the bright side, I thought the vehicle looked very cool, but with it's extreme limited usage, it's not worth anything imo.
