  1. Make Republic Banner, Imperial Banner, Ball Toss, Red Eyes and Gold Eyes powers instead of objects. I specifically do not use these because I never know when I'm going to need that extra space in my inventory. And I don't want marginal items like these cluttering it up.
  2. I dunno. The basic point of the thread was that the gear suddenly changed and people didn't like it. Then others pointed out that it was a posted that it was a bug and they actually wanted it changed. The people who liked the 'old/incorrect' versions pointed out that why they bought the gear based on the preview. The people who like the 'new/correct' version are the ones who presumably follow the forums and/or went to the Devs when the screenshots didn't match the items. Both lines of thought are reasonable. I came here to add my voice, not because I was affected, but I had friends in game who didn't like the change. I have no vested interest in having the new versions of the gear remain, but it doesn't mean I'll ignore what those users are saying; the people who want the new/corrected versions are being fair about it and just rolling back the changes isn't right. Not listening to the people who were complaining that they liked the old versions isn't right either - although you obviously need to apply some basic common sense. (How many users are affected? Is what they're asking for break anything with play balancing? Are they just looking for free stuff?) I'm not going to stake myself on one side then couch it on citing my interpretations of 'what is advertising', 'is a preview an advertisement or not', 'does whatever method constitute a legal obligation', 'things posted on the official forums that you do not read are your fault', or 'the preview is really what everyone will use'. It misses the point too, that you're essentially talking about customer service here, and we're not in a court of law. What happens is at the discretion of the service provider (Bioware). They gain or lose customers based on their actions, and that's their motivation - they don't care about the various iterations of the above arguments. They changed something, it was ultimately a cosmetic non-gameplay fix, they feel could have been communicated better, people are unhappy. The only real points in this thread that Bioware is looking at is: "Some are unhappy and want the old version back" and "People who wanted it corrected want it to stay corrected." Some people have a need for one side to be definitively right and the other side to be definitively wrong, and they won't feel satisfied otherwise.
  3. I can't agree more. This really has nothing to do with one side being right. Both sides are right. Nobody should be advocating returning the pieces to their old state - some people want them in their new state. That's no better than what happened with the patch when armors suddenly changed. (I noted I had a headpiece that now has goggles! Had the blasted thing for 3-4 months, and suddenly I wake up and it has goggles.) Just re-release the old pieces as new armor. Please. And Bioware should think carefully about updating stuff cosmetically when they've been out on the server for any length of time. You're just begging to irritate people with that method.
  4. I'm not getting the reason as why Bioware shouldn't just take the old version, which is already created, make a new version of the armor that is distinct from the corrected version, then send it to people who own the corrected version (as in an already existing mechanism that Bioware can already sent items to mass groups of people via mail). I doubt that it would take more than two or three work hours - and opportunities that cost that little that have the potential to create an awful lot of goodwill don't arise that often. The number one source for information about SWTOR is going to be when you log into the game itself. Not this forum, not any other forum, not some third party MMO site. There are obviously a number of people who wanted this item based on the Preview. That there's some notice on this forum somewhere here among the thousands of threads, among the dozens of stickied posts only counts for so much. The only place you can guarantee people will have the opportunity to see the information is either in the game, or on the portion of the site where you buy Cartel Coins. And this wasn't communicated in either place. These weren't quest items either that have some right to be at the whim of Bioware. It's a system where they are encouraging people to spend actual real world currency in order to get an item, either directly by purchasing it or indirectly through packs. You can't just stick your head in the sand and imagine some theoretical marketplace where absolutely no people were motivated to spend actual money based on obtaining one of these items. That's disingenuous.
  5. The problem is that some people bought it based on the Cartel screenshot, others bought it based on the preview screen. Regardless of how you look at the issue, there's some set of customers who were screwed over in the process. Just bring back the old version of the Cartel pieces alongside the new ones. It's a digital item - it's not as if Bioware needs to go to a garment factory and put in an order for another 70,000 pieces. Just give an old version to everyone who bought the Cartel item (or currently has it in their possession - whichever) through the mail. At the worst, it's Bioware's responsibility and at the best it's a reasonable way for Bioware to apologize to some ticked off customers.
