  1. It's funny how such a small quality of life, sorry user experience, feature made me so happy :D
I won't get a chance to go on PTS but hopefully it will be as simple as opening the delete box from the inventory, right clicking to fill it, and then hit a delete all button.
I have spent sooooo, much time dragging individual items out of my inventory to get rid of them.
Those pesky Odessen crates really fill up the inventory with armour sets once you've collected and unlocked them all.

  2. A little bit worried about the restriction of Force Based Advanced Classes to force alignment.

Surely best to leave it to player preference rather than imposing a limitation.

I mean look how Saber Crystals worked out ;)

Not to mention it would be really easy to detect any Light side aligned Sith Warriors in the Empires ranks when the can't Force Choke or Smash ;)

  3. Dear Bioware/EA

We all know mistakes can happen. Its what follows that is being judged. In this case, what I think is the subscribers, who pay in one form or another to play the game, would like to see a bit of "senior ownership" to:

    - Acknowledge the issue & apologize

    - Offer some recompense as many now need to waste a significant amount of time & bandwidth to reload (and its probably biased towards your older player base who aren't BITRAIDER/STEAM)

    - Explain why the issue happened and what is being done to minimize the chance of it happening again

We all love the game, and I am sure the Devs do - but I'd like a bit of reassurance that the company cares about its reputation and is deploying sufficient resources to support the platform.

I don't expect any further acknowledgement of the issue from Bioware. Previous experience has shown when there is a significant issue the standard response is no response. Not the best in customer relations but at least it doesn't feed the fire, in the end the flames die out.

A full download of the game is an inconvenience to me, and I don't get to do what I had planned to do. So, I'll go and do something else. Hopefully it won't draw my attention too much, cause my sub's up for renewal at the beginning of July ;)

  4. Does the inclusion of SWTOR on the Lacasfilm Games sizzle reel mean it's full canon now?

I know there have been a few subtle references to Revan (not MY Revan, but then it's not MY Revan in SWTOR either 😏) but as far as i remember bSWTOR was on the canned EU pile.

Edit: forgot to include a link to the Sizzle reel 😕

  5. Not a fan of the new social bar.

My main issues are not so much it starts in open format and has one of the three panels advertising cartel stuff. After all I already have the nice glowy gold button for cartel on the menu bar.

While it can be dragged across the screen, I cannot alter it with the Interface Editor.

    This means:

    I cannot resize it.

I cannot place it flush at the top of the screen.

I cannot alter its alpha transparency.

It's sits there glowing brighter blue than the rest of my GUI and with a slightly different style (curved edges rather than angles as the menu bar is).

    It is awful.

I was asked to post in the suggestion box after customer feedback.

The social bar needs to be:

    1) the same style as the rest of the GUI.

    2) editable in the Interface Editor.

Or, if this is a work in progress and looking to make a GUI that has less impact on the game then a bit of open communication on where you are going with future GUI improvements would be nice to see.

  9. Hi folks!

During our livestream where we first revealed the details of Update 5.10: Jedi Under Siege, I mentioned that when Players begin the storyline in that update, any Alliance Alerts they hadn't completed on that character would be auto-completed for them, and that we'd give out more details later. Well, it's later now, so here are some details!

We have actually changed our plans on this pretty significantly, but the short version is: When starting the first new storyline mission in Update 5.10, the light-side Arcann Alliance Alert will be auto-completed if it hasn't been completed already; no other Alliance Alerts will be auto-completed.

Why pick on Arcann? It relates to his romance; since Alliance Alerts aren't generally required to be finished before moving forward in the main storyline, it would hypothetically be possible to have Arcann's Alliance Alert sitting on a character for years before completing it and, potentially, choosing to start a romance with him. To prevent this from causing issues with future romances, we need to know that you can no longer begin a romance with Arcann via that mission once a character has begun the storyline in 5.10. (Remember: if you complete his alert before starting the first storyline mission in 5.10, then nothing will change with him or his alert at all.)

For similar reasons, going forward, starting new romances with certain returning class companion characters may preclude resuming a romance with other returning class companion characters. For example, choosing to begin a romance with Nadia in update 5.10 would preclude you from resuming an existing romance with Felix Iresso if you hadn't already done so via his Alliance Alert. You will always get a warning confirmation on choices like this.

Outside of Alliance Alerts, beginning the first storyline mission in 5.10 will still auto-complete all other storylines, much like starting KOTFE. As with KOTFE, our general guideline for what choices are set by default is that Republic characters are assumed to make light side choices, and Imperial characters are assumed to make dark side choices. As examples, I've highlighted some of the major choices and how they default below, including a few where we have exceptions to the general guideline. Spoilers, of course!

    • The HK-55 bonus chapter is not auto-completed at all.
    • KOTET Chapter 1: Republic characters are assumed to help Senya; Imperial characters are assumed to kill her. Thus, in Chapter 6, it's assumed that Republic characters recruit light-side Arcann, while Imperial characters are assumed to kill dark-side Arcann.
    • KOTET Chapter 3: Republic characters are assumed to forgive Koth; Imperial characters are assumed to kill him.
    • KOTET Chapter 5: Republic characters and Imperial Agents are assumed to spare SCORPIO; the remaining Imperial classes are assumed to kill her.
    • KOTET Chapter 8: Republic characters and Sith Warriors are assumed to save Vette; the remaining Imperial classes are assumed to save Torian instead.
    • War for Iokath: Republic characters are assumed to ally with the Republic and help Jace Malcom; Imperial characters are assumed to ally with the Sith Empire and help Empress Acina.
    • Traitor Among the Chiss: Republic characters are assumed to take Zenta as a prisoner; Imperial characters are assumed to kill her.
    • Nathema Conspiracy: all characters are assumed to forgive Theron and keep him in the Alliance.

So you can see there are some complexities and exceptions to the general guideline, but it's pretty consistent overall. None of this applies to a character who has already completed these storylines, of course, so if you want to see different variables set for your character, I would encourage you to play through the storylines before starting Jedi Under Siege :)

If you have any questions about the auto-complete process when starting Jedi Under Siege, don't hesitate to ask!

    Thanks everyone!

    EDIT:

Some quick additions, based on questions I've seen coming up:

    • If your character has already completed everything available before 5.10, nothing in this post applies. Auto-complete is only used for characters who haven't finished the previous content.
    • Other than the Arcann Alliance Alert, NO Alliance Alerts are being affected. They will all work as they do now.
    • When auto-completing the Arcann Alliance Alert, your character is assumed to NOT romance Arcann. If you want to romance him, do his alert before starting Jedi Under Siege's first story mission :)

It's a shame that the light/dark options have to be linked to Imperial/Republic choice given that so much has been made of a players ability to be light within the Empire, or a bad apple in the Republic.

Is there no way of using the 'Light/Dark' selector characters currently have, or even a checklist for the player to complete before jumping into Ossus?

  10. I'm not happy with not getting certain companions on my main, namely Jaesa, and eventually Scourge. I beg you guys to make companions available to all classes, even with no storyline. Lets be honest, most of us are only on alts for Ops or heroics for cash. I'd rather be on my main everyday with my preferred characters than waiting months for a returned character for a short interaction then never using them because i'm barely on that alt.

    +1

I have a lot of alts centered around my own head-canon, the connecting threads are the companions and it would be nice to finally have a way to get all of them available, even if it is just a click box on a terminal.

Let's be honest, as much as I like the story, it can't be the sole excuse for not releasing companions across the classes when I am running the same daily heroic for the hundredth time ;)

  11. It really depends on your definition of Pay to Win.

Mine has always been "Buy highest level gear directly from (insert game company) using real world cash."

    This isn't that.

There's a middleman in there, the player who crafts the items and decides what the price to list on the GTN is going to be.

    Since it isn't direct, it isn't P2W.

Glad someone knows the definition of P2W, shame it wasn't the OP.

For the majority of players this isn't an issue. I can level up a character naked with just a main hand weapon thanks to bolster. For those that really need that high tier, isn't that what guild participation is for? Organising the crafters, sorting the runs for materials to craft, prioritising supply to guild members first and then open market.

It may not be the biggest boost for solo crafters and players, but given the incoming attention to guilds I think it may inject a bit of life back into guild activity.

  12. This always strikes me as such a bizarre argument. All the lines that do exist are nearly negligible too, so why would anyone want them back? Well why does anyone want anything? If all companions are largely the same, then why shouldn't one want to pick one based solely on cosmetic concerns?

Personally, I've stopped bothering with the story BW is trying to tell anymore, I'm completely fine making my own stories, but I'm very particular about which companion I'll pick for a character, just as I am about outfits, for instance. From that perspective, I consider more options better than less.

My thoughts exactly. At this point I'm not that bothered by the story BW churn out, I'll probably play it on my main. However I do appreciate the toybox they've given me to make my own stories and being able to select from all companions goes a long way on this front.

  13. F the haters! Solo was a very enjoyable film. Far surpasses the new trilogy. Star Wars still has hope....

    Agreed.

I find it strange that with the recent cinematic revival of the Star Wars franchise it's been the non-jedi focused content I've enjoyed the most.

As a mature fan I grew up with the original trilogy. Han Solo, Chewbacca and the Millenium Falcon formed the foundation of Star War's appeal to me. The prequels never quite hit the mark for me, at the time I put it down to over reliance on cgi, poor scriptwriting, bad directing, wooden actors, bloated films, and knowing what's going to happen in the end.

Then I saw The Force Awakens and realised just how much I'd missed Han, Chewie and the Falcon.

Rogue One just made me realise how much more the Star Wars universe has to offer, yet another film that you know the ending to, but handled with such a flourish that the last 5 minutes of the film make it more a Darth Vader film than any of the prequels.

Solo is a solid entry in the Star Wars franchise, with some of the best acting and characters I've seen in a Star Wars film.

  14. It seems you're not even allowed to ask any people that have won for a code on the official NVIDIA forums

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1031496/geforce-experience/swtor-giveaway-which-is-only-a-chance-zero-transparency/2/

Have to say this has been a very poorly organised promotion from both parties. Vaguely worded. Catering more to pushing GEforce Experience on people. For a digital gift pack that could have easily been given to everyone that qualified.

If NVidia had really wanted to push the boat out and get some respect they would have given it to everyone. There is no restriction to digital content other than the artificial exclusivity they want to create.

  15. Why is SWTOR not as addictive as it could be?

Because the story is limited in scope to a linear interactive movie format. You get to play the story Bioware wants to tell and not create your own pathway.

It's a shame as many of the systems now in place are pale imitations of a far better way.

I feel the mistake was to create set stories and tie them to specific classes.

To compound this error the companions you could gain were forced upon you.

And then to finish it off there was no replayability of this content on an existing character.

All of this is a result of a design team that couldn't see the richness of what a persistent shared environment could offer and instead fell back into the tried and tested single player linear story telling they were used to. It's as if they'd never bothered to explore the player created realms of their own Neverwinter Nights game.

  16. It's interesting to see some of the replies to this thread.

Just because MMOs have switched out the lights in the past is no reason to think this will remain the business model.

I'm sure there are profit concerns in there but businesses also know the value of loss leaders to garner good will within their community and keep people coming back.

SWTOR remains asset rich having gone for a aesthetic that has stood the test of time rather well. I would be surprised if these are not reused in some form or another.

It will be interesting to see how it goes with the end of the license. Will SWTOR see the same fate as SWG. Or, is there the potential for Disney to see it as a goodwill gesture to keep it alive in some format, even as non-canon as it's Star Wars tie in is.

  17. So....just installed the GeForce Experience, had it "optimize" my SWTOR and it fixed it so it won't open. At least it lets you revert back to the previous settings, but GJ all the same.

I've generally found it best to not optimise games.

The optimized version of Fallout 4 it gave me was like a flick book.

I think there are some preferences where you can choose to optimise between performance and quality but overall I find it better to work within the game settings.

  18. SWTOR just back stabed all non Nvidia gamers with this new promo you must have a Nvidia card to get the loot becouse you need to install a geforce app

"Join the NVIDIA GeForce Experience community by downloading the GeForce Experience client and creating an account by December 13, 2017

Full Access to Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion story

    Outlander Character Token,

    Chiss Talon Interceptor Airspeeder

    Force Veteran’s Armor Set, "

Keith you royaly bleeped up !!!!!

find a way so that its for all video cards or find a new subscriber you call

This looks like an NVidia driven promotion not a Bioware one.

In much the same way there was a specific colour crystal for players that used Razer products.

  19. I must be getting dim in my old age or the wording on the sites is a little vague.

I've been subbed to SWTOR since launch and played for the last six years on NVIDIA cards. Despite having numerous issues with the Geforce experience client during driver updates I've stuck with it and it seems to finally be a stable way of updating.

My NVIDIA Geforce Experience account is set to notify me by email of any upcoming deals but I've had nothing from NVIDIA about this. I only stumbled across it because of the facebook link.

I know marketing like to throw shinies at people to try and lure them in but I'm starting to get a little weary of the lack of interest in rewarding loyalty and support over the lean years.

I hope there's an official clarification at some point before the cut off date.

  20. The game has it's faults but it's kept me playing since launch. I can't say that about any other MMO, and it's not just the Star Wars license that keeps me coming back.

About the only thing I could hope for is an announcement that Disney will commit to a legacy server in the future once EAs licence ends.
