  1. Has anyone tested out running a Huttball with Phase Walk? Specifically, setting up a phase walk node near the goal line, running the ball and then teleporting straight in while still carrying the ball? Or do you drop it like you would if you used stealth while carrying the ball? If so, I could definitely see that being used (and abused).
  2. What exactly do you do to get a 150 force pool? I know it has something to do with the Force-Mystic PVE set... but I think I'm missing something here.
  3. Ah, my mistake, I apologize. Went around and played with it a bit more and found that you can skip Dark Bulwark if you have points in the lowest trees... which is weird, to say the least. Either way though, I think maybe this time around a full 36-point build might be the best way to go with all the bonuses to healing, not to mention maxed chain shock and avoidance.
  4. >Implying it's not a SWTOR-spy bug. http://i.imgur.com/8ImHbGE.jpg See also: http://i.imgur.com/6z0Edgc.jpg You can't progress up the darkness tree without taking Dark Bulwark, although it would be nice to... 4/10 for trying.
  5. Because you cannot progress up the tree without wasting points in those shield skills.
  6. A slight revision to your build, perhaps? http://pts.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/sith-assassin/222/?build=022132001121023002120203110000000100000000000000000000000000000003202210010200000000000000000000&ver=20 At this point, its just playing around with specs until you find the right one.
  7. How about a revision then? 31/2/13 http://i.imgur.com/EzErNym.jpg Now gains Spike out of Stealth while losing the force cost reduction of Death Field and the reduced Whirlwind cast time. Can be switchable with the front end Maul, but personally, I'd take non-stealth Spike over a forward facing Maul.
  8. For those of you who are a big fan of 23/1/17 in our current patch, you might have realized by now that Bioware has significantly nerfed hybrid builds in 2.0. After toying around, I have come up with a decent build that has a little bit of a tradeoff while retaining most of the things that made 23/1/17 great. 27/2/17 http://i.imgur.com/H3bfuWR.png Direct SWTOR Spy link: http://pts.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/sith-assassin/222/?build=022132001121023002120200000000000200000000000000000000000000000003202300012220000000000000000000&ver=20 Pros >Gain Harnessed Darkness from Shock >Retain instant-cast Whirlwind >Gain Death Field >Retain reduced cost of Death Field. >Retain extra Thrash damage. Cons >Loss of Spike out of stealth. One less interrupt unless you're willing to sacrifice your Force Cloak >No up-front Maul available at a reduced cost. If you want to use Maul, you're stuck with the full 50 force cost and whatever damage it applies. Its not too bad of a tradeoff, but if you were relying on Maul for all that extra juicy damage, that may not work for you. I'm going to try it out and see how it works, so unless they change some of the skills by the time 2.0 officially releases, this seems like a decent build that closely resembles 23/1/17 or even 24/0/18 (probably resembles the latter more, now that I think about it.) Feedback appreciated.
  9. Here's an idea that I've been doing lately, using an orange shield generator but with the Elite War Hero Force Master Focus mods/enhancements/etc, running 23/1/17. Now you have that extra shield bonus from passive stats and Dark Ward, without sacrificing any Power or damage. The amount of shielding and absorption depends on what gear you're wearing though, but a little bit of mitigation adds up. Not to mention, the reduced CD for Force Shroud comes into effect whenever you shield something.
  10. For 23/1/17, its worth the one point in there, especially after the changes. Before, it would only seem to proc from using Saber Strike or Discharge, now it has a chance to proc on almost any attack: Thrash, Shock, Force Lightning. Keep in mind, this is from a purely PVP standpoint. In PVE, if you're the tank, the mob ALWAYS faces you unless its stunned, so you don't ever really have a chance to use Maul.
  11. I'm always uploading raw PVP gameplay on my Youtube channel using the 23/1/17 build. Feel free to follow me at http://www.youtube.com/mattbassist Here's an example.
  12. 23/1/17. I've used it for a while now. Its a build that has survived multiple patches and is still very effective. I have PVP videos up on a somewhat regular basis, right now in just augmented War Hero gear with some Elite War Hero pieces (weapon, offhand, one relic, and boots) and I do just fine. http://www.youtube.com/mattbassist Most recent match, jumped into a pug with a few friends from another guild, so there's comms in this one.
  13. If any of you guys are focused on the 23/1/17 build in particular, I have a bunch of raw gameplay videos up on my Youtube channel that is just that. Main Channel: http://www.youtube.com/mattbassist Most recent upload: Team No-Heals
  14. But since there is going to be a level cap increase, wouldn't that make all this stuff not really worth it because of the new L55 gears? Realistically speaking, its not that far around the corner, so unless Bioware/EA does something EXTREMELY stupid like making the L50 Elite War Hero gear a prerequisite for the L55 PVP gear, I don't really see a point in upgrading if you're going to be doing mostly pug matches. Rated is a different story, unfortunately my guild is pretty much dead when it comes to that nowadays.
  15. I've always stuck with 23/1/17, I've grown too used to it and all its benefits and shortfalls to know what to do in most situations. Also uploading regular PVP videos, among other things. Here's one of my first ever match in the Ancient Hypergate that I uploaded recently.
  16. Shinarika, if you're wondering if your build survived 1.6, it has, and still with flying colors. I don't think there have been any changes at all... Either way, have some PVP videos, now in full 1080p quality. 1.6 Voidstar:
  17. Bump for great justice. This game seriously needs a 64-bit client, because as it stands, there's no reason that a game with a much worse engine than games like Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Planetside 2, etc, runs worse than the aforementioned games in the framerate department.
  18. As I was leveling up, I was watching a lot of Zybak-TV's videos on SWTOR and that was when I was really big on Deception. Now, my favorites have to be Shinarika's Shadow videos.
  19. With the whole not-getting-healed while in stealth, it works like this and I don't think people realize it. In normal stealth, you can receive heals normally regardless of spec. The only time a stealth mode is not going to allow any healing is if you use Force Cloak, unless specced into it from the Infiltration tree.
  20. Whats funny is that people think they can "hide" their class from others by using different weapons... sure, it might work against someone who doesn't have class icons enabled. But if I ever saw an enemy Shadow use a single bladed lightsaber with that obvious dark blue icon over their heads... well, lets just say that they will become a high priority target.
  21. There's no real rotation per se, as it is just using skills that build off each other and using them when the appropriate buff procs. Use Double Strike to proc Particle Acceleration, the pop Force Potency and use Project. Saber Strike and Force Breach have the best chances of proccing Infiltration Tactics. And then use Force in balance whenever you see a group of people clustered together for maximum damage.
  22. Got a few pub games uploaded with a few members of my guild. Good Ol' Fashioned Pubstomping: No Imperials Will Die Today: With 1.4, 23/1/17 is still a viable build. The one point in Duplicity for Maul procs is very powerful, albeit the chances for it happening being lowered. Usually hitting people with Saber Strike or Discharge will proc it, and when you can use it, use it. You'll see respectable numbers for sure.
