  1. I am super excited about the event and I cant wait to start leveling 8 more toons so I can relieve the best part of SWTOR, the story. Not to mention I get to relive the old content again. /sarcasm Event would be awesome if it came out 4 years ago when people didnt have 20 toons. Now its just a big slap for the veteran players who have done every story multiple times. Not to mention some are maxed out on character slots. Rewards are great and the idea is nice if it would only stop at Eternal level. Even that is a serious grind. Legendary level is a complete joke and it should be made retroactive.
  2. I am not gonna call you an idiot but you are wrong on so many points that ..... I've played Mara/PT/Jugg and few other classes in 3.0. Lets start by saying that PUGs are bad everywhere and they are not the actual representation on what class is good and what class is bad for a particular fight. I will talk only about HMs since SMs where super easy that its not even worth a mention, only ppl who cant do left and right were the problem, not the class. In 3.0 only operations that were relevant were Rav/ToS. PTs were heavily favored on Revan, Cora, Underlurker. Revan for Hydraulics, Cora/Underlurker for a lot of free damage from utilities. Ranking melees is PT > Mara > Jugg > Operative. I honestly don't know in what fight you could possibily be so heavily handicaped on mara that you couldn't do a minimum dps requirement. For ToS: Malaphar - really, is there any problem on that fight ? Walkers - dps req was around 3.5k. In my 192s Mara I was doing around 3.9k. More then I could do on a Jugg in similar gear. Underlurker - PTs were the kings = free damage from passives. Maras were really good since you have Predation to get rid of that abnoxious slow. Also have free damage from Cloak of Pain. And another gap closer in Force Camo. Commanders - Carnage maras where one of the best for this fight. Revan - BH's were the kings on core cuz of Hydraulics. Carnage Maras and Concelment Operatives where the best on the core after them. Easily can do a lot more then min DPS check. Juggs were the worst from mdps, but can still do more then enough dps on a core. For Rav: Sparky - brain dead easy Bulo - medium fight, Juggs rule (Saber Reflect) Torque - Juggs rule (Saber Reflect), PTs are good since they have more ranged then Mara but if you can dodge the fire Maras are pretty decent on dmg. Blaster - Maras were the best on this fight. You can use undying rage and take all 20 stacks on the Master. Hydraulics are useless since mdps dont have to move. PTs have slightly more dmg then Mara at this point but its insignificant to utility Mara brings. Also Predation is nice on red phase (shouldn't be neccesery but nice) Cora - PTs (Free dmg on utilites and extra range is nice) but only for Cora and Cora doesnt have a enrage. Rugar - PTs > Mara> Jugg >Operative Saying Mara was utter garbage in 3.0 is so wrong. Yes it was weaker then PT in terms of damage and utility on some fights but it was more then capable to clear everything and stronger then Jugg and Operative on most fights and even better then PT on Blaster. Your rant about defesnives is even more wrong. Wont bother to quote everything. You are making it sound like you need to use defensives on CD when you are playing mdps. Thats just plain wrong. You should never be taking constant dmg if you do, your standing in ****. Pretty common for Mara players. Ughh... what ? Force Camo is awesome. Dps should use their threat drop 1 time, 2 times max. After that tanks should have 0 problems holding aggro and you can use FC as a defensive. Its extremely useful as closing out the distance if your leap is on CD and as a defensive when you will be hit for a big spike. Poping it and standing in **** and doing nothing is wrong. Self Cleanse is also nice bonus on it. Better then Force Barrier on Blaster since you can dps while taking the beam. Need +2 sec utility tho. Best defensive, free damage, free rage generation, free mitigation and low cool down. Better then every jugg defensive except Saber Reflect. But you cant use Saber reflect on every fight and you can use CoP. Not to mention passive 30% AoE Damage reduction they have over Juggs. That + Cloak of Pain make a lot of difference on figths where bosses have unclensable DoT on you. Jugg can just take all that damage. Juggs only decent Defensive is Saber Reflect and thats situational. Saber Ward is alright but maras have it as well. Endure Pain is almost useless so is Enraged Defense. Could go on but this is has already gone long enough.
  3. Never understood the hype behind dummy parsing. Parsing on a dummy is only good for practicing your rotation, getting out/recognizing mistakes and figuring out the priority on your abilities. Parsing for higher DPS is a waste of time and adrenals. If I do perfect rotation every time my dps will vary a lot and I have done nothing but wasted time. Practice for rotation not for DPS. Parsing higher doesn't make you a better player. I have a guy in my raid team, who does around the same dps on a dummy but hes always behind me on bosses, where it actually matters. I am not talking about 100-200 dps behind cuz thats mostly rng, I am talking about around 1000 dps behind. In boss fights you will always make mistakes unlike the dummy parsing. You need to understand your class, all your abilities, how to keep a high uptime, boss mechanics and what ability to use when you mess up. That will help you more then chasing RNG to get extra 200 dps on a dummy. Yes, Guardians/Juggernauts are weaker then some classes but they are viable in every ops if you know how to play them. Never had any problem meeting a dps check on my juggernaut. Maybe the problem is not the class but you.
  4. I did 4.760 dps with 898k totall damage. Some tries I do over 5k but thats usually on a wipe Thats with 220 Ear/Implants/Relics, rest is 224 since I no longer play on rep side. Think around 5k is reachable without much problem since I noticed I did mistakes and didn't danced around the core as much as I could have. http://postimg.org/image/wwmhk3og5/ With PT I do 5k+ every time and thats in half 220 gear.
  5. Need an utility to be usable when rooted. QoL change would be make it usable when jumping, I cant describe how annoying it is you cant use it while you are jumping.
  6. Hey guys, I want to try merc in ranked next season and I am wondering can you give me some tips on utilites and could you write an explanation why you use that utility. That would be much appreciated. I know mercs suck for ranked but still I want to play them, also any tip would come in handy. I am playing Arsenal Mercenary. Currently I use this: Skillfull Jet Escape - 30 secs less on stun break is nice but I am usually dead before I can use it 2nd time. Mainly take it for -5 secs on Jet Boost. Custom Enviro Suit - 3 % more hp (thats around 2300 hp more on 70k hp) and 3 % healing more is nice and there is nothing else I would use. Afterburners - Rocket Punch imbolizies for 4 sec. Thats really good but somehow I dont use is efficiently and 4 more meters on Jet Boost knockback is always nice, Was thinking to use Adhesive Supplements for slow on tracer missile but when I am kiting I dont use tracer missile that often and that is the reason I dont use Power Barrier for 5 % damage reduction, its pretty hard to keep the stacks. Rest are just heat managment and I dont have heat problems although extra 10% alacrity on Improved Vents seems nice but I dont have dmg problems, its all about staying alive. Masterful Torque Booster - 4 sec more on HO is a no brainer Dont know whats the other utility to use. I am trying Pyro Shield and thats only 10-15k damage from it, so not sure if its worth it. Interrupt immunity looks nice on Energy shield Heroic Thrill of the hunt - Boltstorm on the move seems like its a must for kiting Stabilized Armor - 30 % less damage taken from AoEs and more importantly 30 % less dmg taken when stunned. Any tips are welcome.
  7. If I got this right. There are 3 types of damage: Melee/Ranged - White Damage Force/Tech - Yellow Internal - Yellow but different then Force/Tech For defensive stats we have Defense, Shield, Absorb and Endurance. Defense - completely negates Melee/Ranged damage, if RNG is strong you take 0 dmg. Does nothing to Force/Tech and Internal Damage. Shield/Absorb - Works on Melee/Ranged and on Force/Tech, does nothing for Internal Damage. If RNG is strong (Depending on Shield Chance) you take damage but its diminished by the amount of Absorb percentage you have. Endurance - you take full damage but you have more HP and its the most effective way to "mitigate" Internal Damage. Tank with lots of Defensive stats and no Endurance will die fast to Internal Damage but will take longer to kill with Melee/Ranged and Force/Tech attacks. Every DoT is classified as Internal + some abilities. Force/Tech and Melee/Ranged is burst damage and can be further mitigated by your defensives and defense stats. Internal damage aka fluff damage can only be mitigated by Invincible and HP. Internal damage is whats killing most tanks, dot spread is super easy and it will kill you eventually. People rarely try to focus the tank but if they do you have defensives and some defense stats. Gearing: Mods - 9 Advanced Lethal Mod 40B-X Enhancments - 7 Advanced Discipline Enhancement 40X Augments - 14 Fortitude Augments Relics - DPS ones since they have Endurance and defense stats are not that good + they boost your dps. Implants/Ear - Shield/Defense, they give more HP then DPS implants and its nice to have some defensive stats. Reason I go for Shield/Defense over Abosorb/Defense is since your shield rating is pretty low and its better to Shield more often then absorb a little more. Ideally you would want Shield/Absorb over Shield/Defense but that dosent exist anymore. With lots of Power from the Gear your Force Screams Sonic Barrier will absorb more damage (works against all types) and you'll do pretty good damage as well.
  8. Its a well made movie but it lacks any form of originality for me to like it. Everything has been seen before and that why it is probably my least favorite movie, I even like the prequels more. You can find lots of things prequels did wrong like some of the dialogue is cringe worthy, they rely too much on CGI, etc., but they have shown another side of the Star Wars universe and they are at least original. I have no problem in making some of the scenes similar to the the old movies to bring the nostalgia back, but the whole movie is basically just copy paste of Ep. IV. Rey and Finn are decent characters and they have shown they have charisma unlike Kylo Ren. Kylo was interesting in the first 30 mins and he felt like a really powerful character. Then he showed his face and everything went downhill. There was no more mystery behind him and with his dumb looking face he was no longer terrifying. And it seems he became weaker as the movie went off. Got beaten by someone who never had any real training. His master on the other hand seems like a good character, mysterious and powerful. Good movie but a bad Star Wars movie imo. Maybe I was just to hyped and got dissapointed by any form of originailty. Hope the next movies will at least show something new.
  9. Exactly, with the level sync and boosting the old ops to lvl65 its all about the new players attracted by the hype of the movies. New players will come and see that there is ton of story content, and that story is good. Then they will see there is a lot of raids and that new story comes out each month and they will be pretty hyped. They have used minimum amount of effort/money and hope the movie hype will bring new subs. Unfortunately for us old players who have experienced every content, there is nothing new. Game is pretty stale and some of us will move on because of it. I have leveled every Advanced Class, experienced every class story there is and that is only a fraction of the time I've spent in the ops and in pvp. For me this game has become boring without new pvp and pve elements. I have 17 toons and I've only managed to do KoTFE story on couple of them, first couple of times it was fun but now its extremely boring. Alliance system is interesting on the first glance but you can do it on only 1 toon since the grind is unbearable. Besides with so many companions you don't get attached to them like you did in pre-kotr era. Hemdil Tre is an exception since he talks too much and you will hate him straight away.
  10. As much as I love this game I think this is beginning of the end. They are trying to orientate the game towards single player with heavy focus on the the story, while group content is on the sidelines. Unfortunately single player games have a much lower life span then multiplayer games. No matter how much I love Mass Effect, Skyrim, Kotor they get boring even tho the story is a lot better then SWTORs . SWTOR just can't compete with solo player games in terms of story, gameplay, graphics and whats more important you dont have to pay each month to play those games. They have made a decision to pursue the story this year and perhaps till the end of SWTORs lifetime. You have to understand they've put considerable amount of resources, time and money into it. Even if the community says its a bad decision and Dev's begin to realize this, it is too late to do anything about it this year. From economics stand point they need to finish their plan for this year for better or worse or they would lose a lot of money for nothing. Of course they cant admit they've made a mistake cuz that would be a business suicide and they would lose their jobs etc. They don't have enough staff and EA is to cheap to throw more money to do 2 things simultaneously, thats why PvP has always suffered. They just couldnt do PvE and PvP at the same time. Since they are still polishing the remaining chapters and they will do that for next couple of months. After that they could transfer the staff on PvE content but even if that happens I can't see new ops before late 2016, early 2017. Unfortunately that is too long for me to stay subbed. I will move on to other games and maybe when enough story accumulates I will sub for a month and will enjoy the game for couple of days.
  11. I was a sub from 1.0 till 2.0. Then I left the game since all my friends were leaving. At that time I was raiding and I had fun doing so. I've finally came back in 3.0 just to check the new Revan story, since I am a KoTR fan. After I've finished all the story I missed from 2.0 I was ready to leave the game again, and all you got from me was 1 month of sub. But a random invite to the guild and I subbed for another month. Then they got me into raiding and I subbed for a year. This was the best time I've had in a game. In a year time I have cleared all PvE endgame content there is (RaV HM, ToS HM, all the 8m NiMs, 16m NiMs, etc.), experienced every class story there is, leveled 16+ toons. Did lots of PvP. When they announced that they are scaling old ops to 65 and they are not doing new ops, my excitement levels went from super hyped to "I guess its OK". And thats from the guy who never did NiMs when they were actually hard. I've cleared all those NiMs, got all the achivements, titles and mounts on multiple toons. But I said, sure I'll stay around just to see how hard those ops are when you are not over leveled.Now just imagine the guys who actually did those ops when they where hard. I don't know how they can force them self to do that again, when its boring to me since I know all the mechanics, and the group I am raiding knows it as well. What makes ops fun is learning new mechanics, boss fights, doing something new and beating other raid squads/guilds to it. Then there is this Highlighted HM fiasco. When I heard about that I knew that was the stupidest game decision I've ever saw in this game. Before when you saw a guy in full 198 gear with title like Revanchist you could say, wow, hes pretty good, he put some time into the game. Maybe I should ask him for advice on my class etc. Now even Revan is pretty nerfed that even that title has lost part of its charm but at least its something. Now every half-wit can get 224 gear, and I really mean half-wit, since HMs are that easy. I personally know people who couldn't farm SnV NiM, DF NiM, DP NiM when they were lvl60 but they had to be carried so they get titles, mounts, achievements. Now when I see them I inspect them and they are almost in full 224, in a week or 2 they will be in full 224 and that just makes me sad. We tried doing NiMs and they were not that hard, at least the bosses we tried. If we put a mind to it we could clear them all in a month or 2. But atm we see no point in doing them. Gear is same as in HMs, highlighted HMs give better gear, everyone has achievements, titles, mounts. NiMs should give something new to separate good from the badz. By new I mean new titles, mounts, achievement if not the BIS gear you can't get any other way. PvP is in terribile state as it is but at least you have solo ranked, with all its flaws there is still a ranking system, and PvE has just lost that. All of this has made me rethink my sub status. We all know there is 8 new chapters coming out each month starting from Feb 2016. Some logic dictates there will be no new ops till all the Chapters are out so we can have 1 big showdown. So no new ops till at least Oct 2016. And I think that too long for me to be a sub, since 1 hour of story each month is not worth the money. I love the story, think it was awesome in the first 9 Chapters but you can only repeat it 2-3 times before it gets boring and tedious, while ops you can do 100s of times before it gets boring. Endgame PvE is dieing if its not already dead and PvP is not doing better. GSF is a complete laugh, its like devs are trying to forget it even exists.
  12. What is better for HM and NiM Ops, Lethality or Concealment ? I like Concealments rotation and play style a lot more but apparently Lethality does more single target damage. According to Goblin_Lackey its only 140 dps in average but on Parsley its a lot more. Top Lethality/Ruffian is 6945 and top Concealment/Scrapper is 6438 and thats from the same player. Should I switch to Lethality for bosses that are pure single target and use Concealment on bosses that require bursts ?

Always loved my Juggernaut/Guardian but never got to play it in 3.0 since my Vanguard was required for Revan kill, had to pull 800k on a Core since my team was slacking and I could never do that as a Guardian . After couple of Revan kills on VG I've switched to my Guardian and I loved it. It was obvious from the start it was weaker then VG but I still loved it. Since 4.0 started I decided to switch to my Guardian and I am not a bad Guardian, currently hold #1 parse in the world and my VG is also amazing . Anyway felt Guardians are pretty mediocre/weak in HMs and HMs are super easy. Tried only 1 boss in NiM and that was SnVs 1st boss, did really fine on him with pulling 6.6k dps but thats mostly cuz of the adds and we have probably the best AoE in the game. Then we decided to drop NiMs since there was no point in them, they don't drop 224 gear but 2x220, awesome isn't it, thx Bioware. Then I started to gear my VG in 220 as a 2nd toon and even with bad gear I was pulling a lot higher DPS then my Guardian. Then it hit me, wow Guardians are not mediocre they are just bad. Our single target DPS is laughable and we have low burst only good thing about Guardians is their AoE damage to kill trash faster and wipe more on bosses . On bosses with lots of Adds we can pull respectable numbers but on single target bosses we are just a laughing stock. I can see us failing on a lot of NiM bosses like Operatives ( and thats my 3rd class ). Vg Tactics is just broken atm, insane on demand burst + high sustained dmg and good AoE. Need to see other NIM bosses on Guardian and Operative to see how they play but you can't deny we are miles behind other classes. /signed
