  1. Won't happen. If they implemented what you suggest then other crew skills will ask for selectable rewards. Leave it random.
  2. The issue raised by the OP is legit. Even though the game is less than a month old, crafting is nearly pointless and will remain so as long as upgrades are so easy to get from commendations and mission rewards. I have a 400 Cybercrafter and the only thing that sells marginally well are earpieces. i lose money trying to keep current with armors and mods. Selling green-quality items is pointless. Blue level stuff can be obtained from commendations. Purple items are better than commendation rewards but people don't really need them when the next blue upgrade is only 2 levels away. I really like the crafting system BW built. I think they had a completely different team building out commendation rewards. Had the two team sat down for a chat about a year ago they would have realized they were screwing over the crafters. Either this was an oversight or gross negligence....hard to say at this point.
  3. None of the dialogue choices about getting paid make one bit of difference. We can all pretend that we're ruthless smugglers just looking to make a profit but the silly trooper chump that runs the same mission gets the same payout. While we are on the subject of money....why is it that we save the life of a king and get 350 creds and a crappy green-quality item yet a single healing stim from the vendor costs 1250 creds? BW has an odd sense of scale.
  4. i find it more than a bit absurd that I am sitting in a queue in the middle of the work/school day on the East Coast. what are servers going to look like this weekend when everyone is looking at a 3-day weekend? tip: don't log out!!!
  5. I am a new healer and still getting used to it. One thing I would like to say is that bad groups make bad healers. By that I mean that the Zerg groups that break Force Lift or the dpsers that don't know how to manage agro. Hard to heal everyone at once without an AE heal.....when do we get that anyway? I'm only level 20 so I am only starting up the seer tree now so mabe it gets easier later on. PUGs probably not helping my career a a healer either.
  6. You can remap those keys so they line up a more intuitive pattern. I have a G15 keyboard so I mapped the F keys and a Deliverance for a 1-button heal "macro".
  7. They would increase their karma 1 million percent if they simply said all of November was getting in tomorrow. The ambiguity of the "last week" comment is making people insane.....including me - 30 nov.
  8. I don't think there would be a "best" combo if you are not planning on crafting anything with the items you get. You'd just be feeding a bunch of stuff onto the global trade network. I very briefly thought about doing just that but decided I will take up a crafting skill so I can eventfully make some items to both use and sell on the GTN. It would also be nice to have a skill I can use to outfit the many alts I will end up starting.
  9. I'd like to thank you all for the good information in this thread. I have FINALLY decided that I will roll up a healer Sage as my first character. I've never played a healer before so that aspect will be new to me. I think my decision comes down to the fact that I will be able to "solo" (with companion) whenever I can't or don't want to group. Yet at the same time I will be a class that will almost always be welcome in a group for tougher content. Prior to learning about the Sage I was planning to play a pure DPS spec. In most games there are always a surplus of straight DPS and I suspect SWTOR will be the same. See you all in game......eventually (I'm a 30 November pre-order)
  10. so what does it take to get a thread closed? I have tried to respond to three threads today with non-rage content only to find it has been closed by the time I am gone typing. Yet tripe like this, which has been reposted in a dozen different ways, continues to survive. As one person in another thread observed, anything remotely negative against BW is close. But anything negative about people waiting to enter the game is left alone.
  11. Anyone so upset by all that that they would cancel their order is already so emotionally invested in the game that even if they really do cancel they will be back within 3 days anyway. Empty threats are sad...really sad. I'm chomping at the bit to get into the game as well but I won't be so absurd and immature as to cancel my order. That's like telling the pizza guy you don't want the pizza as he's pulling up in front of your house.
  12. every time someone starts a new thread about early game access a baby dolphin is roasted alive and eaten by a rich white politician that doesn't pay taxes.
  13. Or better yet, don't pick such a common name that you have to worry about everyone else trying to steal it. Too many people running around with mutated names from popular books, games, and movies.
  14. People worried that their name will be taken seriously need to get a better imagination. Stop picking common names from literature and other games and you won't really have a problem.
  15. not sure why they can't continue adding people in batches. If a 2-hour per wave spread is sustainable during the first half of the day why not continue at that pace? why do a set number of waves per day then stop if the server is doing fine?
