  1. Sorry if it sounded like i was nerd raging. I just think it is far too easy to get Battlemaster gear in 1.2. And rank 60 valor grants you the "Battlemaster" title. 70 gets you "War Hero", yet there isn't a valor req on either of the gear in 1.2? I think they should at least have the 60 70 reqs, or just get rid of the titles :p

I just see it as one less excuse people have on why they lost to me/my team. :D

  2. So i saw this earlier today, the duffy one. I have two 50s that each have two sets of BM gear. Know how long that took to get? In 1.2, not only will BM gear have no valor req, but they will be obtainable via comms. I feel like all my time was completely wasted. I don't even need BM gear to get WH gear? Kidding me? BM is useless now... They should have just kept BM gear at 60 valor and made WH 70 valor. How hard is that? It's way easier now since the valor gains have been upped.

New Tier comes out, older tier gets its price lowered to practically free.

    This isn't a new concept.

  3. I know everyone has their own opinion, but I'd like to hear some reasons why one is better then the other. I've seen both classes own and both fail, so if anything I'd like some valid reasons why one is better then the other... not any "qq" over a class.

My 4 man would be a combination of Sorc (Healer), Merc (healer), PT (Tanky DPS) and an Operative.

Oh, and I'm going to fill a DPS roll.

    Thanks.

  4. I'm torn. I love the concept of a Marauder so much that I want to play one. But when I'm playing against a lot of them, i get turned off.

However, there's always a couple every night that just tears through my entire team and renews my lust to play one.

Although mine is only 22 and somewhat frustrating to play in pvp, it's probably the most fun I've had on any class so far.

  5. Quick question for everyone, I plan on leveling a shadow mostly through PvP and I've been going over the forums looking to see which spec is suggested.

From what I've read it's my understanding that the hybrid spec 23/0/18 is considered one of the best at lv50. However my question is do you need to be 50 for this to work and is it greatly gear dependent to work?

Basically, should I work this spec while I level, or is say Infiltration a better spec for the lower bracket PvP?

    Thanks ahead of time.

  6. There's a difference between PvP, Camping and Griefing. Very few games let you excessive camp someone without some way for the person to escape. IE, "spirit rez" away from the camping spot.

What happened on Ilum wasn't PvP or camping, it was Griefing simply because the Republic players couldn't spawn anywhere expect where 50+ Empire was waiting.

It was enabled by Biowares poor planning and any attempt made to correct the issue came to slowly, so I don't think the players should suffer for Bioware's lack of effort.

  7. no... theoretically (very theoretically) the healer should keep himself alive exactly long enough to kill the dps the same moment the dps kills him. that would be the definition of 1v1 balance- not that the game should be based on that. But your idea of a dps needing to be better than a healer in 1v1 makes zero sense whatsoever

I could live with that, but like i posted above.. my response was to the fact that someone wrote it should take more then 1 dps to bother a healer. I added my opinions, but in the end I still believe one dps should bother a healer.

But this game is a team game, and balancing around 1v1's should be taken with a grain of salt.

  8. Then again... what is the point of a healer?

If I can barely keep myself alive 1v1, I might as well roll DPS, so I can bring the enemy's health down as much as possible before I die.

Healers should never die 1v1. A healer should be able to keep up as much as 1 guy is dishing out.

The point of a healer is to keep your DPS alive, while the DPS is meant to keep you alive.

I don't see why people think healers hould never die 1v1. They should last a long period of time, allowing for help to come save them from the DPS. But lasting indefinitely isn't something that should happen.

My orginal response was to the fact that one dps should stop a healer from healing himself and others. You should feel pressured when someone is focusing you, regardless of your roll in the group. Regardless of the fact if you believe healers should never die, 1 dps on 1 healer should effectivly take them out both of the game until the fight is concluded.

  9. If a single DPS can roll through a single healer, then what the **** is the point of a healer? You might as go DPS yourself to at least rush to see who can kill each other first.

I didn't say roll through a healer. I said the DPS should win in the end and the Healer should be able to sustatin himself until he gets help but not last forever.

  10. The fact that a single dps player could basically stop that healer from doing anything other than heal himself is basically proof positive that healing is too weak.

It should take more than one dps players to bother a single healer.

One DPS stops another DPS from doing anything other then attacking that one DPS.

Why should it be any different when its a healer v DPS?

You shouldn't be able to just laugh as a DPS tries to kill you, you should be able to survive until you get your DPS to help you. Otherwise with no help, the healer should lose.

  11. No I'm not. I'm the exact opposite. I just realized that my efforts weren't being rewarded at all. If my team is bad and I'm going to lose anyway I might as well just run around getting medals.

If I were one of those types I wouldn't have made this thread. I want team players to be rewarded, that is the purpose of this.

Thats the dangers of pugging, never knowing what you are goign to get. Although I agree trying to win should be everyone's priority, but if failure is inevitable, you should get as much as a bonus out of it as you can.

All that said, I understand your reasoning behind your posts, but the ones that need to understand that winning is better then a high K: D ratio aren't the ones reading the forums.

  12. Aside from getting my daily done, why should I care about helping my team win? I get more comms if I just run around doing my own thing killing stragglers and guarding noobs who are off fighting by themselves.

Also I always get the most MVP votes when I do this for some reason.

Are you one of those guys that does nothing for the team or help with the objectives then at the end call everyone noob/bad?

Regardless, winning is always more gratifying the losing, even if you are the "bestest"

  13. The only ones complaining about Arena are those who suck at it.

Arena is a way to judge an individuals skill level by the rating his team has. Those that are opposed to it have the intelligence of Swiss Cheese and would prefer not to be judged on their 1100 ratings.

THey would prefer hiding in an unrated warzone, where they can have the feeling of being good (When they actually are not).

If you don't like Arena don't do it, but don't sit there and say it shouldn't be in the game for those who DO like it. If you are one of those people that are opposed, you fall into the category of Swiss Cheese idiots mentioned above.

Partly true, but Arena is usually about team comp more then individual/team skills.

However, the game has only offically launched five days ago. There are pockets of 50's here and there, but not enough for everyone to get a true flavor of the game. So many QQ posts about this class or that class, I'd rather the game settle down and everyone adjust to their 50 skills before trying to balance Arenas.
