The second I heard Risha's on-summon line of "Time for fun!" I was hooked and had no choice in the matter.
-
For everything except melee elites/champions, Risha is my go-to girl.
Between the two of us, we can bring down damn near anything.
Unfortunately, the closer I get to 50, the more difficult it has gotten to maintain my stance that "the best defence is overwhelming offence". I've had to start gearing up Bowdaar at the last minute, just to stay on top of things.
So my advice to up-and-coming smugglers would be: pick two, gear them well.

There's another one for comms on Balmorra. Probably one on Tatooine at the specialty goods vendor too.
-
More importantly, it certainly seems like 90% or more of people complaining are here solely for pvp.
Addendum: In which case, see ya!
-
Well when you take something, and then you make it less than what it was, that is a nerf. :|
So what you're saying is that you want the system to remain broken in your favour?
That sounds fair.
-
How exactly is "making surge work the same as everything else" a nerf?
-
Got this one off the Voss Commendation Vendor:
D-60 Sonic Enforcer and other side D-60 Sonic Enforcer
That D-60 looks like it might pair well with Flashy, definitely gonna have to take a look and see...

Read the lore. Everything's been done before, better, by previous people.
You're better off rediscovering their lost technology than trying to reinvent the wheel.
So the entire Star Wars universe has adopted a scavenger mentality.
Add to this the wealth and tech-level disparity between worlds, multiplied by a million, and you wind up with the vast unwashed majority holding down everyone else...and people being mostly okay with that because they can recover old/lost crap occasionally which is better.
-
This thread is fantastic. I just wish I could find something that matches Flashy well...
-
Every choice I made as a smuggler was my choice, every path I took was mine.
Yeah, I felt immersed.
Having fun with the Smuggler line as well, although chasing after a certain someone for 3 acts is getting a bit tiresome...I kinda feel like that entire section is supposed to be annoying.
You have to get fighting-mad before you get involved, otherwise there's no reason you'd bother.
-
Odd. While more of a neutral type, my Smuggler has killed a ton of people in cutscenes.
He does not handle betrayal, even light betrayal, very well.
-
You definitely want to space alts out a bit, at least a planet or more apart.
Otherwise you run the risk of getting burned out on seeing the same content over and over quickly.
-
I think some people (myself included) were spoiled by Rift, where they put out major patches and fixes AND content at a break-neck pace. When you consider the resources BW/EA has to put behind the game, you would expect things to improve even faster.....but in reality it's that hulking bureaucracy which is in fact slowing things down.

Oh, i like corso as a tank and range guy, cause i am also ranged and its good to have him tank. If there was another companion with same abilites i would use him for sure
Eventually, you won't need a tank. The best defence is overwhelming offence.
-
What do you mean gone? You mean at some point he leaves me?
Sorry, no, I meant once you can use someone OTHER than Corso.
He's been sitting alone in the corner of my cargo hold crying into his beer since I got my second companion...
-
I never understood that. Your first companion is someone who for the most part, hates every rogueish thing you do unless it involves hitting on women. Don't you think your first companion as a smuggler should be of looser moral fiber?
Without going into any spoilers, I think the entire first stretch of the Smuggler questline is explicitly designed to annoy you. On purpose. The antagonizing enemy always just out of reach, the tedious farmboy companion always disapproving of your tactics.
The goal is to get you fighting mad.
-
It's not a British accent, it's an Imperial accent.
-
Corso makes Smuggler unplayable for me.
Once he's gone, everything is so so so much better.
-
NewsFlash: it's okay if your companion doesn't like you.
-
The problem is that Corso is a goodie-two-shoes hillbilly, so unless your response involves romance with sheep, he is not going to approve.
-
So you want a more uneven playing field in which skill is less relevant?
-
-
Zeltron Smuggler

Huh.
You might say the Force is with them.
