  1. My biggest concern with the Legacy stuff is that it seems to make it so that you kinda have to roll characters of both factions on the same server, in order to have a well-fleshed-out Family Tree.

This is kinda annoying for people in large guilds who split their Republic/Empire branches across different server types in order to accommodate both PvE and PvP server desires.

  2. Lore-based arguments against color crystals make no sense.

The color comes from the crystal, not the user, and certainly not the Force.

If you're a jedi and you fall to the Dark Side in the middle of a fight, your lightsaber does not immediately turn red, nor does it switch itself off because you're no longer allowed to use it.

  3. First off, I really like the little lore-based blurbs explaining things.

I also have a feeling that the reason some speeder types are going away is because 1.2 is going to bring in huge changes to crafting in general, not just the areas mentioned already, and that this may include Cybertech getting ALL of the fancy-looking speeder models and them no longer being bind-on-pickup (so they can be sold to players).

That way if you want a basic, generic speeder you go to a vendor.

If you want a fancy one, you go to a crafter.

  4. There must be a discrepancy between your(and others, apparently) play style and mine, for I gave up raising many alts because I was forced to do most sidequest over and over.

We could discuss the differences, but I would rather lay my opinion aside since it looks like most people are outleveling the contents. No point proving that my experience is valid if it is only a minority. :)

I have a feeling that the key difference is probably rest xp.

If you don't make the effort to park in a cantina, fleet, or your ship you lose out on a ton of extra xp.

  5. Not a lie. My experience. You must have done more WZ and heroics, possibly multiple FP or space battles.

I have a few 50s and i had to do all sidequests, all FP once, all space battle once, tens of wzs to reach 50, and to be at the right level for my class quests I always had to either run many WZ or do all side quests on the planet.

Are you saying you are not regular PvPer?

    I don't pvp. I solo almost exclusively.

When I hit 50 I was just starting Corellia, had tons left to do.

I was consistently a few levels above all content I was doing, all the time.

It wasn't until I was around 45 or so that the gap closed to as few as 3-4 levels above.

  6. It's not just the gear issue though.

If you spend 49 levels letting players determine their playstyle via the companion that suits them best, you don't then require them to use a companion and playstyle they're unfamiliar with. If you've played it safe with a tank the whole time, being forced to use a dps pet instead can result in failure after failure until you unlearn and relearn behaviours.

  7. I only need a tank for melee elites, as ranged elites are a snap as a gunslinger with appropriate use of interrupt and cover. The problem is that even with decent gear, Bowdaar is a piece of wet tissue paper against any melee elites.

I've honestly had better luck with a dps companion and me running around like a headless chicken.
