  1. I'm hoping that when Lucas approved all the EU books, he made sure to keep his original ideas for Ep 7-12 intact. I'm thinking that we'll see something in the midst or right after everything that has been written, and hope that the new movies will properly take the EU into account. Otherwise, Disney and (yet again) Lucas will have a lot of P-O'ed fans.
  2. When I talk to the Synthweaving trainer, they have a bunch of light/heavy armor plans that I can learn to craft. However, I'm medium armor, therefore have no personal use for the other stuff. Now I know that when I get to top level, I can craft light/heavy armor and sell it. But for now, is it a waste for me to purchase every single armor schematic that is available to me at the crew trainer?
  3. I thought as much, I personally enjoy getting into the story of the game (especially since this is Star Wars, and I read as much EU as I can), so doing every mish works great for me. What I love about this game as opposed to the only other MMO I've played, the story is so huge that I can play multiple characters and not get bored by the monotony. I don't forsee myself needing to do any powerleveling pretty much ever, since following the story seems to get me everything that I need. :-)
  4. Quick question, is there anything wrong with doing every single mission that I see come up as I play my character? Is that what most people do, or am I just wasting time?
  5. When choosing my crew skills, I read that Slicing was a good choice. However, that takes up the place of Underworld Trading as a skill to go along with Synthweaving. So my question is, should I unlearn Slicking and learn Underworld Trading?
  6. I'm trying to figure out how to go about gearing up my guy, and have a question about the orange gear. I have read that this is what people generally focus all their attention on, that it's the only thing that we can add stuff to for modifications. What I want to know is, what's the difference between different orange gear within the same 'class'? (Like, what's the diff between one orange lightsaber and the next?)
  7. Hey all, I've been following this series for a while now, however I have a sony ereader and have been downloading this ebook series off of borders.com. Now, with that gone, all I can find is the new one (Lost Tribe of the Sith 8: Secrets) at barnes and noble and at amizon. Unfortunately, those two sites only allow me to download ebooks for their particular devices. So in short, does anyone know where I can find the newest release of the Lost Tribe of the Sith that I can read on my Sony eReader?
  8. My SG was the Crimson Heroes Society, which name I didn't like, made with another guy who disappeared so I took over the whole thing, and since I'd had gotten it in on the SG prestige bonus, had no desire of dropping it all just because of a bad name.
  9. Good to hear from some fellow Justicites! I was actually here up until launch, when my comp died on me (a week before I was granted entry into early access, no less). Just got it back up and running (thanks to Taxmas!), and am just hoping to find a good server (Settled into Terantatek to begin with, might switch). I recognize the RO SGs, I'd actually thought about joining at one point, as I'd had a completely inactive SG with just my characters, but I didn't want to lose all that glorious prestige and storage!
  10. Hey everyone, I played CoH for about 5 years before last July, when I decided it was time to cancel my account (money issues, plus they were moving to FTP). Anywho, I played almost exclusively on the Justice server, and have been wondering if there's anyone in this game from JFA, Justice United, etc? I would def like to play with some people that I recognize, if at all possible. (And since I stopped paying NCSoft, I can no longer post on those forums, and therefore can't ask there)
  11. Thanks for the info. I don't feel like rerolling yet, but I'll probably use an RP server for new characters.
  12. Ok, so I'm a big fan of keeping with the lore of Star Wars (mainly things like Sith using almost exclusively red lightsaber crystals), but I really don't like to RP in game. Should I play an RP server or non-RP? I've only played up to about level 7, and am trying to figure this out before I get too deep into it.
  13. The Jedi of the PT were arrogant, that doesn't mean they were weak. The Jedi of the Old Republic were the ones who were originally convinced that the Sith were gone, after a thousand years of not seeing or hearing anything, how could you blame them? The Jedi in charge after Bane helped wipe out the rest of the Sith were tired from all the fighting, and instead of actually investigating the rumors they heard, they believed what their eyes told them, because they didn't want to believe that there were still Sith running around the galaxy.
  14. I think that your list is pretty good, though I think you misinterpret Sidious's power as weakness. Sidious was able to actually transfer his actual essence to another body, thereby actually achieving immortality, with new bodies that are in their prime. Thus, the damage done to his body by the use of the dark side is unimportant. (I just reread that, and realize I used the word actual way too much. However I'm too tired to try to make it sound better.) It wasn't until the clone factory containing his clones destroyed was he finallt truly defeated (I think...not 100% on this specific part).
  15. Hopefully, more light will be shed upon this when the Darth Plagueis novel comes out in a couple months. Anywho, the RoT didn't actually mandate that the apprentice kill the master in open combat....it instead states that when the apprentice feels that they have acquired enough power, they are to confront their master, and kill them. This can be interpreted in a number of ways. I believe that Sidious is known to not sleep, at all. He may have known that the only way he could defeat his master is in his sleep. The Force alerts Jedi/Sith to imminent danger, if Plagueis was unable to sense Sidious's impending attack, he didn't deserve to live. Another way to think about it; if each apprentice must challenge their master in open combat, it is extremely likely that the victor would come out of the battle hurt and possibly crippled. This would most likely weaken and possibly destroy the Sith, so it wouldn't exactly be the best way to go about killing your master. The best thing to do would be to find their one weakness and exploit it. If the Sith Lord was unable to defend themself from all attacks, then they wouldn't deserve the position/title.
  16. Your argument is invalid. Darth Bane's Rule of Two was based off of Revan's holocron, yes. Darth Bane was (arguably) about equal to Revan in strength/power. The RoT ensured that each successor to the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith (Master) was more powerful than the previous Master. Thus, after a thousand years, Sidious would have been MUCH more powerful than Bane/Revan. And with Vader being 80% Sidious's power (from GL), he is definitely more powerful than Revan.
  17. I believe that one of the main things that Vader took away from his fight on Mustafar (obviously not talking about his limbs here...) was that he needed to keep his arrogance in check. Vader learned to control his overconfidence, unlike his master, Sidious.
  18. This. Revan's abilities are highly overrated, mostly because of game mechanics. Just because all of those powers were available to your character doesn't mean that Revan the canon character could use them all. In-game powers/abilities are not canon, the only thing canon about the games are the overall storyline, and things like the cutscenes in TFU. Revan was not an all-powerful Jedi/Sith that could destroy any SW character ever, he was merely an extremely proficient user of the Force, more powerful than the average Jedi Master, but less powerful then the most powerful Jedi Masters such as Yoda or Windu.
  19. Revan had a lot of knowledge, but so did Vader. Revan had a decent understanding of the dark side, though he wasn't really it's master. He turned, then attacked the Republic, where he got his mind wiped. Vader had thousands of years of Jedi info (from the Jedi Temple), plus was trained by the most powerful Sith Lord ever, who had at least a thousand years of info to go off of, plus any recovered Sith holocrons from the Jedi Temple (which there were rumored to be), plus any other Sith holocrons that any of the Rule of Two Sith uncovered. Revan was as powerful as any really powerful Jedi Master. Vader was even more powerful than that.
  20. Most discrepancies are simply due to bad writing. That's why the EU is so awesome to read/play/watch....it fills many of the holes. (and creates new ones, so the fun never ends!)
  21. The door was really thick, you could cut through, remove, cut through, remove. Or you could use the lightsaber/force to melt the door down. Which would look a heck of a lot cooler.
  22. pre-Mustafar Vader was less powerful than OT Vader. This is canon. And while Revan was really good, he was no match for Vader. He would probably give Kenobi a good fight.
  23. It was only a matter of time before another of these threads popped up. Sorry, but Vader all the way. It's too bad we lost all the previous threads, there were some good arguments in Vader's favor, though they'll come back up. Simply put, canonically Sidious was the most powerful Sith Lord of all time, and Vader was pretty close to that. He was strong enough to withstand a full blast of force lightning from the Master, and still toss him to his death.
  24. Well, if you notice in the PT, they aren't together all that often....R2D2 is with Anakin pretty much the whole time, and C3PO is with Padme from Shmi's death on (which Obi-Wan wasn't there to witness). In fact, Obi-Wan never saw C3PO until he was in the care of Padme. Plus C3PO's memory had been wiped at least once. R2D2, though, I believe he never had his mind wiped, though I could be wrong. I do think that Kenobi would likely recognize R2 though, I'm just trying to reason on the side of canon here. Maybe he was just playing dumb in order to not reveal too much to Luke, or maybe he'd been in the heat and sand for too long.
