10 Good
  1. Hi all, I cancelled my sub today too. Based on the beta my initial estimation was 2-3 months, but I ended up only with 2 months. My reasons, which I write here only in the scant hope that a dev has a task to collect these and _maybe_ they learn from it. The GOOD Well, there is not much to say here. The voice acting is certainly good, the dialogs are well written and I liked the backgroud informations as well (you know which nobody ever reads I very much enjoyed the Imperial Agent story. The BAD There is nothing really to do above the fighting. If you want to RP, there are only a few emotes to help you, and that's all. You can't find secluded places away from players to do your stuff, you can't interact with players from the other faction, you look like a parrot in your mismatched, latest loot outfit, etc. I didn't expect anything fancy in ths regard, it was a long time ago in galaxy divided far far away when devs paid attention to this. Still, this would have lenghtened my subsciption. Space fight is repetitive and quickly becomes boring. I broke 3 Warrior5 joyticks on X-Wing/Tie Fighter anno. I was triple Ace in SWG. This railshooter just doesn't cut the cookie for me. The pimping part is very uninspired too. Gathering and crafting is very uninspired and boring. I does nothing to challenge the intellect of the crafter. No stats on resources, no stats for crafting, no modifiers to play with, nothing. Just a timer and the result is always the same (except when you get a bonus socket, but that has nothing to do with you either). Mindless and boring. To summarize the above there is nothing in the game which i would spend time with. Fighting gets old after a while for me. The game is clearly designed to be the competitor of WoW and make the transition for players as easy as possible. Except WoW had years to perfect its methods and the glitches here will cause players to simply go back there (IMO). Shameless copy of WoW features. If i wanted to play WoW, I would play WoW (I did try that too, with a similar 2 month subsciption). It of course helps the players feel at home right from start, but also means to copy a lot of stupidity. Like you can't talk to or interact with (except for killing them ofc) the other faction. Why? Do you really think that SW players are so childish that they would abuse each other all the time? This also effectively halves the number of players on each server to do PvE stuff with. I have a few toons on an RP server with HEAVY population according the server browser and it took over 30 minutes to find 3 more people for a simple Hammer Station run. On my main server I wanted to try a Pub toon and I was effectively separated from my Imp guild, while we played on the same server. The mail system is a carbon copy too, you need to go to a predesigned point to grab your mail. Why? There is no internet in SW? No mobile devices? Not even in your ship? Stupid. Travelling between planets is a timesink, probably designed to be one. You go to the spaceport, you run a lot to your hangar door, which often leads only to an orbital station. Then you run to your ship again, enter. Then you run to the console, finally get the starmap and travel where you wanted. Then the above procedure starts in inverse. I wonder why can't a few terminals exist near the entrance of the spaceport where you can just access your ship and go? And use the other parts of the Spaceport only when the story leads you there? I estimate a server merge within 4 moths. The COULD be better Finally some small stuff. These are just minor things, easy to repair and really not much effect on the overall gameplay, and did not play a role in my decision. Inventory/Currency tab: Put the Planet commendations last or make the server remember if the player closes them. Since players reach 50 very quickly, nobody cares if they have Taris commendations or not, but they want to know how much PvP/HM coins do they have. Imp PvP Aldreaan: Fix the menu on the top right. The left dot should represent the left gun, not the right. PvP Voidstar: The map covers the right hotkeybar. PvP: Do something with those who leave the matches early and thus making it impossible (most of the times) to win the match for the other players. I'd suggest a 15 min serverwide PvP debuff, so the player would not be able to enter into pvp with _any_ of his toons. It should be stored on server ofc, so relogging won't clear it. If someone has to leave for RL reasons it is not a punishment for them, but would prevent a lot of ppl to just leave. I'd also like to introduce a /votekick against inactive players, who just stand invisible at some safe point of the match instead of contributing. 5 votes would be necessary to work and would result in the same debuff described above. This might sound harsh, but think it over: is it fair for 1 player to f**k up the match for 7 others? I don't think so. PvE, low level missions: This 5 Xp business is counterproductive. If I do a lower level quest, it is easy, yes. But i need some incentive to do it. Now if I burn my time on a lower level mission, I'd like to have some compensation. Because what do i get otherwise? The armor/weapon rewards are too low level, useless. I dont get any Xp either. That in mind I won't even start that mission, because it simply doesn't worth it. Let's face it, most ppl doesn't care about the story, so they won't play it only for that. But if you give people reward, then they will do it and you get more timesinks, which is a plus, no? Store keymap/settings on server, so if the client freezes, reinstall needed the player has all his settings at once. Well, that's it, sorry for wasting your time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFZrzg62Zj0&feature=related Tango edit: some typos, but i left some anyway
