  1. Yeah I've never understood this. I personally refer to them as east and west. One man can move mountains if he is persistent enough :-P
  2. I have to agree. The queue times are just too slow. At first I thought it was because I was being picky. I wanted to complete content in the correct order, at least for the first time. I didn't think there was any sense doing The False Emperor before Battle for Ilum, so I'd only queue for what I actually wanted to do. I went a whole evening in queue the first night without ever getting a group for it. That irritated me, but I relented and decided to stop being so picky and queued for every hard mode flashpoint, all story mode operations, and regular flashpoints that I hadn't done yet. I figured I'd surely get a group this way. Been in queue for 2 hours, and the one time I did get a group someone declined the group invitation so it put me back in queue "right at the top." It's been 30 minutes since I was put "at the top." It's 6 pm central by the way, which should be peak playing time. I'm on Shadowlands, which is a very populated server. I respect Bioware for wanting to build strong community, but I think they need to implement cross server LFG tool. It's too slow the way it is, and I can think of no way for them to speed it up other than that. It wouldn't be the end of the world. Heck, you could even set the LFG tool to prioritize people on your own server. Maybe even make a mandatory ten minute wait before grouping with people from another server. I'd be okay with that. But I'd rather play with people on another server that I'll never talk to again than not get to do the content at all. Also, I'd very much support an option to queue for heroic missions as well (I understand those kind of have to be restricted to same server). Thanks if you actually read this wall of text. :-) TL,DR: Queues are too slow, implement cross server grouping.
  3. Or maybe Bioware can be nice and let me put my toon on steroids and switch to body type 3? Lol jusr a suggestion...
  4. As odd as it is, I'm highly tempted to reroll on a different class for this reason. I guess part of the reason I like MMO's is aesthetics. And yeah I am sure they knew about this before release because this was present in beta. I've continued with my current class though assuming it would get a fix before too long. After all, as an above poster stated, the model must be in game because it looks fine in the character preview screen. After 6 months though I'm wondering if this is something they plan on fixing. If they are, I can have patience. If this is how they mean to leave it, I wish they'd say that so I could just reroll already. The only thing that's stopping me is the prospect of relevelling and regrinding all my pvp gear :-/
  5. Ok, so the first time I put a robe on my Sith Warrior soon after release...I thought my toon had gotten cybernetic gluteal enhancements...which is cool I suppose. I mean he is a cyborg. But then I realized that all robes, on all characters who wear them, also have victorianesque style buttox (even non-cyborgs! ***). I then realized this was a bug. This effect only applies to body type 2. Why not roll with a different body type you say? Because I don't want to. I shouldn't have to reroll my character because of a bug. I've been patient. 1.1 and 1.2 came and went, with no fix to my massive buttox. I have had patience. I said to myself "1.3 is the big one. Surely they will fix something as minor as this right?" Well 1.3 has came, and my a** is still large and in charge. Why? Is this intentional? Will it ever be fixed? I know it may seem like a minor issue, but myself, and likely many other players, like the traditional look of a Sith in black robes. I don't want my Sith to wear armor that looks like it came out of WoW in space. Please fix.
  6. I'm a Vengeance spec'd juggernaut. To start, please don't tell me to respec rage. I've tried all three builds and vengeance is the one I like best. My question is whether I should use a shield or focus in pvp. I'm currently using a shield, but my damage isn't quite where I'd like it. On the other hand, I don't feel like my survivability can really afford to take any hits. I'm wondering if that's normal, or if it's just because I'm undergeared. I only have like 3 battlemaster pieces and use recruit for the rest. I've seen several hybrid vengeance immortal builds that people like to promote, but that's not really an option for me because I'm not a 100% pvper. I like to do both pve and pvp, and I feel like a hybrid build would hurt my pve dps too much. I'm completely vengeance btw...so should I just use focus for pve and pvp or should I use shield in pvp?
  7. I have to jump on the hate wagon here. Just did this last night. And I was uber pissed. It irrtates me that Quinn is the only healer we get, because I personally hate him, even before his betrayal. I'd much rather bring any other companion, except for maybe Broonmark because he's so one dimensional. Then betrayal on top of that, I definitely wanted to kill him. Valuable resource or not, hes a traitor, and has become a liability. I understand that removing him entirely from the game would gimp my character, but its a design flaw that comes at the expense of the story, which the developers tout so much. I can understand some people's reasoning for sparing him, but the removal of the option goes against the central "pillar" of this game. If they were going to insert a scene in the game that justified the offing of a character companion, they should have mitigated the loss of the character in question by either: providing a replacement, or providing another character that can fill that role (having Jaesa or Pierce able to heal). And while I'm on that subject, why the hell did Bioware give us two tanking companions for a tank class. Its utterly worthless. I understand that Marauders can't tank and may use one, but I've actually never seen a Marauder or heard of one using either companion. One tank companion would suffice. If they aren't going to allow us to kill the traitor and offer some type of mitigation, they should simply remove the scene completely, because as it stands now it sucks. Hell, I can't even pretend that I off'd him and leave on the ship, because I'm completely useless without a healer (veangeance juggernaut) on most elite fights, and I have to channel hatred every fight on regular fights using a tank or dps companion. It's pretty annoying as it stands.
  8. Definitely disagree with most of your choices, especially visuals. WoW is 10 years old and comes nowhere near swtor. Regardless, how can you rate a game you've never played (gw2)?
  9. I don't know if coward is the right word. Maybe in some respects. Obi Wan was a type of coward for not finishing Vader, and for not just taking Luke and raising him himself. If he had done that Luke would have been far more capable. I think Yoda pretty much gave up though. Regardless, what they did at the end of episode III was really just a plot device used to make the beginning of episode IV make sense. One thing that doesn't make any sense to me is why they split up. Anakin had just become Vader, and had no power base to speak of really. If they had both gone after the Emperor together they may have stood a chance. Cut the head off the serpent so to speak. He had just established power, and the senate had yet to be dissolved, and he didn't really have an established heir. Bad tactical decision making for the sake of a poetic irony lol
  10. I think the Sith Emperor is probably more powerful in the force, if not in intellect or cunning. As for the above poster who mentions that Palpatine was the only Sith thhe conquer the galaxy, you may be wrong. We don't actually know yet. If you think back to Episode III, there are some lines that make me think otherwise. In the scene where Mace Windu attempts to arrest Palpatine, Windu says something along the lines of "the oppression of the Sith will never return!" Also, Palpatine says to the newly dubbed Darth Vader "ONCE AGAIN, the Sith will rule the galaxy." This obviously suggests that the Sith conquered the entire galaxy at some point previously to Episode III, and there isn't currently any established period in the lore where this has happened. Also, the culture, military and titles/ranks of Palpatine's empire is very similar to the Empire in the Old Republic, suggesting that Palpatine is modeling the Empire after the Empire in the Old Republic. Why would he do that unless he deeply admired it. All of this information combined seems to leave open the possibility, if not outright infers that the Empire will win the war in the Old Republic, and at least temporarily conquer the Republic outright. Truthfully though, it's impossible for anyone to know. We will have to see what happens in the story. Also, I don't recall Palpatine ever draining the life of over 100 Sith Lords simultaneously while completely stripping an entire planet of the force like the Sith Emperor (Vitiate) did on Nathema. Food for thought. The Sith emperor is no joke.
  11. Definitely a 10/10 as far as raw power goes. The guy could devour an entire planets life force. But he had weaknesses, such as being a slave to his hunger, and almost inability to comprehend an individual being (he was so powerful he saw whole planets through the force, but not someone right in front of him). However.... The Sith Emperor demonstrated a similar ability on Nathema, yet still manages to maintain his free will and mental acuity. He is thus arguably far more dangerous. Spoilers above in black font.
