  1. Haven't posted for ages, thought I'd join in on this cos I've done every single class and it has been an adventure! Jedi Knight: Oh yes, did I feel like Luke Skywalker running around with my trusty droid against the forces of evil, I really rate this story for all it threw at me. Nice twists, good fun and very hero orientated unless you are one of those naughty Dark Siders who accomplished your goal being a very naughty boy/girl! Smuggler: Fantastic dialogue, brilliant story and one of the funnier class stories out there. You are constantly in over your head, able to flirt with everything in the galaxy and able to still win the day with all the swagger a good Smuggler should have. Also, this is I think one of the best Republic story lines that can be done either Dark or Light Sided Trooper: I loved the whole "You can solve ANY problem by firing your impossibly large gun at it or in you went Vanguard, beat the snot out of it until it went away. You name the situation/dillema, your trusty gun will sort it! This however was I think the most dissapointing story lines, there are events which really annoyed me and the ending didn't live up to all the truly epic things you get to do before it. I loved the military style of this class, they nailed it, loved the feel of it, just a bit let down by the ending in comparison to all the others Consular: If you are looking for a class all about The Force, this one is the one for you. Whilst the Knight is the righteous hero solving problems with the Lightsaber, this one is all about saving the galaxy with your knowledge and wisdom in the Force. 1st bit took ages but I really enjoyed it either as a Shadow or Sage, it was properly epic stuff. Companions are a bit annoying but the story itself is incredible. I felt like a Jedi playing this. Imperial Agent: It took me AGES to get used to the gameplay, either sniping or stabbing, but once I got used to it I could focus on this truly epic adventure of spying, assassinating, flirting and dealing with betrayal or honour. Definitely a good spy story with twists and turns to suit the Light and Dark choices you can make. I personally loved annoying the hell out of the Sith, very funny indeed! Sith Warrior: Ohh yes, very good, very Vader-like. Ok, so I spent most of it trolling Darth Baras for the sheer fun of watching him turn amusing shades of apopleptic puce, but the story is a brilliant test of your Warrior's character - I played this Lightsided, I think Dark is a tough one with the companions you have, but as a story it was right up there against the Knight in terms of how it feels to be the hero/villain. Sith Inquisitor: Brilliant. Like the Consular, this is what it means to use the Dark Side and all the power it offers- the search for power and knowledge is again at the forefront with epic battles and power plays to stay ahead of your rivals. Played Light and Dark, I have to say with the companions you get Dark was the better option and felt very very Sidious - though be prepared to kill all the kittens to get what you want! Bounty Hunter: This is everything I wanted the story to be like- Boba Fett in every way - if you like fire or explosions, doesn't matter - you are a Mandalorian, you are the best at hunting and nobody had better get in your way! Your earn your reputation and you get to play through an epic story with nice twists and like the Agent, your choices really matter in the Light and Dark areas. TLDR: They are all awesome, just the Trooper was a tiny bit terrible.
  2. Good question OP! Here is my list: Jedi Knight - Pretty much like them all, even Scourge because I like his back story although its tough being a Lightsider around him! But T7 is my favourite - the most loyal, funny and dangerous robot to have around, the little guy is just brilliant. His ebullience is something to behold, like him tons Consular: I don't have a clear cut favourite, Tharan has his moments, but mostly want to slap him for complaining my about using the Force - I'm a Jedi, what the heck does he expect?! Qyzen is peculiar and reminds me of an annoying work colleague. Zenith is for the Dark Siders, not me, though I do like his voice! Felix is nice and I like his attitude, Nadia is enthusiastic but can be a bit weird but she would have to be my favourite to travel with. Smuggler: Don't have a real favourite, Corso was fun, Bowdar cool, Gus funny, Risha good to trade banter with but I for some reason have a soft spot for Akaavi, I think my Smuggler fancies her but she is SO angry!! Trooper: Aric is terribly angry all the time, silly kitty, Tanno is for Dark Siders. M1, Elara and Yuun are all equally excellent, I could not decide who is the best, though Elara's accent...Gosh! Inquisitor: I've done both Dark and Light for this, I feel the companions as a whole are suited to a Dark Sider, the responses to your despicable actions are in my humble opinion better when you have anyone but Talos or Ashara who are way more suited to the Light. Xalex is my favourite for Dark Side, he is excellently evil and dark. Talos is my favourite for the Light cos I studied history at university and he and I share the same enthusiasm for the subject! Warrior: Vette, yes, love her to bits! Witty and very appreciative of my being as rude as possible to Darth Baras! Imperial Agent: I've only maxed out Vector who I think is great for a Light Sider, Kaliyo is dangerously fun, Dr Lokan is odd, Raina I've not spoken to much and Scorpoi is homocidal! Bounty Hunter: Skadge needs to die. He is not welcome on my ship! Mako is lovely, Gault funny, Torian got better as I got to know him but best of the lot is Blizz. Blizz is adorable. I maxed out his affection so quickly because he is just awesome! ROCKET LAUNCHER!! So out of all of them either Blizz or T7, Blizz for the sheer hilarity and excellent fun, T7 for the most loyal friend to have for a Jedi
  3. I do things in game of which I expect no reward, I understand that thinking - but I'd also like to give someone a pat on the back so to speak for being such a hoopy frood! (Douglas Adams phrase for those who don't know!)
  4. Hello I have noticed a lot in the game that random people will help you out, lets say for example, you are about to get defeated by something you are fighting and no means to heal yourself then someone leaps in and helps to end the fight so you don't lose. There is already in place things to report people for - spamming etc - I would like to suggest a thing to report kind acts as well. Perhaps the person could recieve a Light or Dark point depending on their alignment - just something that recognises a good deed
  5. I've played all the classes, both Imperial and Republic, I loved it all. Imperial Agent does seem to be the favourite here and I don't blame people for really liking it. I played it Light Side and I felt it was really rewarding. Ok, so I ended up repeatedly getting electrocuted by the Sith for my snarky comments but it was completely worth it! Very good story as people have already commented. Bounty Hunter - definitely felt like a Hunter and really enjoyed proving my worth to reach the top. Light Sided again, the ending was really spectacular - again, Sith Snarking was hilarious fun with some quality dialogue to play with. Blizz is utterly adorable. Bioware really did well with him - he has a ROCKET LAUNCHER!!! Mako was fun as male character, Torien was good too - really despised Skadge, there is nothing about his character that fits on my spaceship or my team. Everyone else I really liked Inquisitor - Played both Light and Dark...what a considerable difference that has made. My Light Sider I enjoyed the Sith snarking (I know, I'm terrible!) and I loved the story as seen from her point of view. My Dark Sider...oh dear goodness...Lord "Kitten Killer" is just quite easily the most evil thing the Dark Side ever spat out. I definitely think this class benefits from playing it Dark Side as canon would have it, so much lightning Palpatine style for those mistaken about a great many things! Sith Warrior - Utterly mesmorising. Loved making Baras's life a constant misery and Vette's life a constant joy. Loved the twists and turns plus also the stuff on Tatooine was pure gold. Couldn't go Dark Side cos Vette is too adorable! Jedi Knight - Hell yes! I know people have a few problems and I understand but for me this was pure Luke Skywalker mode. Brilliant. I felt like a true Jedi hero, the sword play from both Sentinal and Guardian felt epic, good companions too, none of them were terrible! T7 won the day for me - loyal to the core, ferocious in a battle and his comments brilliant. Jedi Consular - Again, people have griped and moaned that it is boring - I love it. I felt like a proper Force weilding Jedi Diplomat who used her knowledge of the Force to save the galaxy from doom. Not sure about the companions as a whole, Qyzen, Tharan and Zenith take some getting used to for me but the story is epic and I felt like I'd accomplished something incredible at the end of it all. Love the Force powers for Telekinetics, love the Shadow and the double blade saber skills with stealth. Am levelling a healer which is also very rewarding visually too. Trooper - Loved countermanding Garza until she saw sense, loved the very military feel of it all, loved the Vanguard and Commando differences in how they do combat and there were a few "oh dear goodness this is properly awesome, For The Republic!!" moments. My only major gripe was one very important decision which I felt was totally contradictory to everything else I had accomplished - I'd achieved the impossible many times before, why did it have to change this one time? Also the ending was a little lacklustre, I felt like I'd failed rather than won. Otherwise a solid 7/10, loved the companions, M1 and Dorne especially good fun! Last but not least Smuggler - So Much Fun! Don't quite understand why some people haven't had the Han Solo experience but I certainly did. My ship is the foremost important thing next to my companions and my blaster! Getting into trouble up to my neck, swaggering out of it somehow by using some of the best lines in the game and some expert gun play- the Womp Rat joke had me howling with laughter! Played Scoundrel and Gunslinger, male and female - it was all epic! Good story, good companions and a lot of laughs! All in all I've had a great experience and will continue to play through the stories many times, may the Force be with you all!
  6. That did sway my choice when I rolled my first Smuggler, I blame the Return trailer!
  7. I think both are as good as each other Smuggler - you are basically Han Soloing it - without ruining any of the story, that is how you could look at it, that is the style of story - Correllian Ales, Women/Men, a fast ship and a good blaster at your side - proper swaggering and having fun whilst being in the right amount of trouble. Agent - completely different type of story and character - working for Imperial Intelligence is utterly different from being a Smuggler - this is the Empire, its way more sinister and serious. If anything I would say Bounty Hunter is closer to the Smuggler story, Agent is in a world of it's own Either one you roll, I hope you have as much fun as I had
  8. I have been fortunate enough to finish all classes and have enjoyed them all for different reasons Jedi Knight stands as a favourite storyline for me as I really felt very Jedi Knight like and all of it had this wonderful epic feel about it. Best ending of the lot of the stories. Consular, I played first, I can see why it is not everyone's cup of Tea but I really like the Force and diplomacy side of it all and it had a nice twist at the end. I do love the animations for the powers as well, very good. Smuggler was hilarious fun, I didn't like the game play as much as I really enjoyed being a Smuggler, I felt like Han Solo so much. Getting into the most amount of trouble and somehow pulling through despite the odds was very satisfying Trooper - in two minds about this. Played a Vanguard and am levelling a Commando. Love the military feel of it, love the "You can fix any problem by pointing a gun at it" - lets face it, some of the Commando guns are things of beauty. Liked the companions on the whole, couldn't grumble. But - I don't like one of the missions which I won't spoil, but the Lightside/Darkside choice ruined it a lot. Also the ending. Not really sure after all my poor Trooper went through that it was the best reward. I did love the story as a whole, it was really good, but very put off with those small things Agent - very good story - very sinister and worth slugging it out despite not really enjoying the gameplay - bit like the Smuggler really. Will level a Sniper and see if that changes Bounty Hunter - oh yes, loved it completely. Really good story, all 3 chapters rocked love the gameplay - I prefer fire over guns but that is beside the point. Blizz is also ADORABLE! Sith Warrior not as epic as Knight - the Force Leap is slower - but oh boy did I love the story and being incredibly sarcastic towards my Master. Nice power plays and Vette was a good companion Sith Inquisitor - Darth Zash was perfect - just perfect - like some eccentric and wonderful aunt who is the life and soul of the party! Played the Lightside on all my characters including my first Inquisitor, 2nd Inquisitor I'm playing Dark sided and ho boy what a difference! I'm a big fan of the Lightside, its just me, I'm a naturally Light Side person - I felt the Inquisitor was the right class to go evil on and I do on the whole feel a little like Palpatine electrocuting people over a great many things! Bwahahaha etc! So there you go, hope its not too long!
  9. I have finished all the classes and I have to say the one I found the least rewarding was the Trooper Now don't get me wrong, I loved the Trooper story in a lot of places and I think it was very close to my idea of Republic Soldier plus I loved the game play etc. All the other classes I felt were fitting to their stories and I've very little complaint about any of them.
  10. Skadge is terrible If I had the option in the game he would never have made it onto my ship. There you are, the supposed best Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy and you have to deal with that blundering idiot, I hated having to go on a mission with him. All the rest of your companions would at least ask before breaking things for the sheer stupid hell of it. His voice, his attitude - everything about him is wrong. Being the achievement whore that I am it saddens me that I have to at some point give the horrible slug companion gifts to max out his affection. *Shudders* The other companions I can almost cope with. I only want to set fire to Theran once in a while, Qyzen - aka Fenton the Dog (Youtube it) can be irritating at times, Andronikus is bearable as long as you are a male character. I play Lightside on all my characters but 1, that gets me minus points with some of the companions but I'm cool with that, they are just not happy, they don't bother me. I'm going to for 10,000 minus points for Scourge one day, just to see the look on his face! But Skadge, I would happily shoot him.
  11. As of today I've got a 47 Gunslinger I've played all the way through Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter, Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular - in second act of Trooper, !st act of Sith Warrior, 1st act of Agent and 3rd act of Smuggler Smuggler has been the best story in terms of all the flirting, laughing, sarcasm and Dirty Kicking (Anyone else agree that Dirty Kick NEVER stops being funny?) I've loved the other classes for different reasons but Smuggler definitely stands out from the rest. The one liners are perfect, right amount of Smuggler bravado and swagger, the story fits the class so well, they really worked hard at this and made it so well worth it from start to finish. I'd definitely recommend rolling a Smuggler if you want a lot of fun
  12. I played on Freedon Nadd for quite a while - the Guildies I was playing alongside were the very best of people and I will always be grateful for everything they taught me, all the helpful advice and camaraderie was nothing short of excellent But, ho boy did I get hacked off with PvP I got so tired of people attacking me ALL the time And it is not just the one battle - which usually happened when I'd just finished fighting a Gold or something - I would be repeatedly ganked, usually by a group - re-spawning used to be a pain in the backside cos going back to the med centre meant having to get back to where you were killed and getting a probe to set you back where you were meant getting ganked again. PvE - so much easier + free of hassle and if you still fancy running off to the Voidstar or Alderaan etc, you can do it. I've not had a single hassle since I moved servers and I'd not go back unless I had an exceptionally good reason
  13. "Obi Wan is wistfully looking off into space and reminiscing about the "days of yore" where they were brave Jedi Knights, fighting the ultimate evil Sith, whereas now they are going from routine check ups from planet to planet" I think you'll find this is Obi Wan referring to the days when Jedi Knights were running around bashing Sith in the Face and how he wishes Jedi life was more like that than what Jedi Knights are doing in his time period. I'd also be all for this new movie, I agree with others in that I think, with a few adjustments this could have been a better idea for the movie. Focusing on Obi Wan and making it all about him so that his teaching of Anakin could reflect what he said in Return of the Jedi - that he thought could teach him as well as Yoda could. I'm not so sure I would have gone with the Obi Wan/Padme thing, but on the whole I think focusing on less characters, having the single threat like Sidious and Vader presented in the first movies vs the story of Obi Wan is a great idea.
  14. I think you'll find I've made it abundantly clear I don't understand your point, I think it is completely unreasonable and have made frequent points backing that up, melee is not the way forward for a ranged class and that is not going to change. 1 - Excellent, I'm pleased you are having fun. 2. Sage's role is ranged, not melee - it really is that simple not matter how many capital letters you use. I've repeated this time and time again - you give the Sage more melee and by increasing it's close combat effectiveness will only require it to change the armour and also it's designed role in the game. 3. So, finally you acknowledge that Double Strike and Single Strike actually do some damage, but reject it because no matter how much damage it does, no matter how much the saber is used more for defensive purposes and character enhancement via the Force (which completely fits it's character design and story), it just isn't enough...as are all your other grievences with the other classes - as I said, you are a very difficult person to please and I doubt any changes made would satisfy your extremely high expectations. No matter how many times I point out that the Sage saber is not just a "stat stick" or that it does actually contribute a wide range of uses that all relete to the story and design of that particular class, this is not going to be enough is it? 4. Read back - you mention the movies and what you think a Jedi should be - that is referencing Lore, that is where your image of a Jedi comes from and how you want to style your Jedi - I'm saying the Jedi are more than that and that your desire to make a Consular Sage more of a Knight is not fair on those of use who want to play a ranged class. Furthermore, Bioware have referenced such lore to create their different classes, hence the reason why I have been endlessly repeating myself - this is their design, they sought to create a character that is modelled on a ranged caster - not a melee combatant.
  15. You want to tweek and unbalance a ranged class to be more melee - that is not going to happen, not with the variety of choice you have from the 3 melee classes that you choose to completely ignore or moan about their animations. Ranged Definition - The maximum extent or distance limiting operation, action, or effectiveness, as of a projectile, aircraft, radio signal, or sound. Melee Definition - Confused, hand-to-hand fighting in a pitched battle or even a confused tumultuous mingling Ranged implies being far away from things, melee involves being up close and impersonal - what reason would something that uses a lot of range need to necessitate it being up close and impersonal? You are asking to break the role of what a Sage is designed to be in the game. You really still have not explained this very confusing strategy of yours other than to say that it "looks" and "feels" better to you. You have continually ignored all references and definitions of what the Jedi can do as explained in a stack of lore that is available to you on the internet for free. There are Jedi who use ranged abilities more than their combat with a lightsaber - that is what the Sage is based on and Bioware have done a great job. Your mistake is asking for a class to change it's base design and role in the game to become more like other classes in the game that are already doing precisely what you are asking of from the Sage. You really should be lobbying for better Jedi Knight animations if you expect to get anywhere.
