  1. You've missed the point of this thread, completely. This is not about fairness, equality or justice. I think we can agree that equal sexualisation or the lack thereof is fair. However, the positions stated in this thread are based on OPINION, NOT REASONING. There is a general consensus of what is considered equal and fair. That is not what is happening here. Please, take your incomprehensible babble elsewhere. I'm sure most of us don't want to read about whatever logical fallacies you googled or remembered from philosophy class. This is an argument of opinions. Granted, in a thread like this, no one side is going to win, and no side is going to back down. That's how these work.
  2. You're assuming that every individual who states that the majority is in favor believes in that FACT without doubt. As I have stated, that is an opinion. Whether that is true remains to be seen. Personally, I stand behind it, because I am convinced that it is a majority presence; however, in response to you, I'd remind you that just because I believe the majority is on my side doesn't mean I believe that gives me the right to speak out. I believe in my right to speak out not because I'm a part of the majority or because my argument is the most "logical." My right to speak out has a fundamental reasoning, and that is that I am in total opposition to this suggestion. I have a position, and granted it isn't based solely on objectivity; however, someone has to have the courage to speak out against this 'logic' that you proponents so readily abuse to bolster your arguments. Someone has to stand up and say, "Absolutely not!"
  3. One's being a part of the majority does not make them privileged. Despite your persuasive language you fail to realize that colorful words don't make your argument coherent. Proponents of this suggestion need to understand something: It is NOT going to happen. There is good reason why it is NOT going to happen. Fairness is irrelevant. Equal treatment is irrelevant. There are those who hold the power, and the majority rules.
  4. Anyone else have any "logical" arguments?
  5. I read the suggestion, and every post following it. You said you wanted "skimpy" clothing for males. Let me break this down for you: 1. There is no doubt in my mind that the majority of players of this game are heterosexual males. As such, they are not going to want to be subjected to images containing homosexual themes (whether that's your intention or not is irrelevant.) 2. This is exactly the kind of implementation that would lead to excessive amounts of trolling and deteriorate immersion in the Star Wars universe. How, you might ask? I really don't need to explain the troll part, but first off, no Jedi or Sith that I've ever heard of would wear "skimpy" clothing. Unless you need further elaboration on this, please, drop it, and don't fill the suggestion box with garbage. There are actually GOOD suggestions that need attention. Thank you. Again... /Thread.
  6. From a completely objective standpoint: This kind of a suggestion is a waste of time and resources. Don't forget, they have to make all of the stuff, and make it applicable to characters, companions, etc. It's not a quick fix. Resources could be used elsewhere. From my own personal standpoint: First of all, don't assume anything about my opinion. I wasn't "offended," or horribly "upset"nor do I think you should be banned for your avatar. I simply DON'T want to see it in the game. Coming from the perspective of a heterosexual male AND a Star Wars fan, I don't want to HAVE to see any gayness, ANYWHERE, ESPECIALLY in a game that I've been looking forward to playing. Furthermore, if you've got a problem with the "sexist, non egalitarian" universe created by this game, then you are a minority and you can take your complaints elsewhere. Naked alien chicks are hot. Dudes in man thongs are not. Besides, a Jedi, sith, or trooper in a man thong? Yeah.... Good way to kill immersion. /thread.
  7. IMO this thread should be destroyed and put on a new blacklist of things BW is never, ever going to do.
  8. Like I said, it's still up in the air. The icing on the cake for me is just having a feature that allows you to play the role of a master or play the role of the apprentice. I think that sort of thing could be infinitely more fulfilling when dealing with 2 real human players rather than dealing with npcs. Basically, the question is "How can we introduce incentives to become a master, or to become an apprentice?" What would make people want to do it, other than the obviously awesome RP factor involved. Personally, I'd just like to become an apprentice and have a traveling master where we go around and do stuff, whether that be questing, grinding, or hunting players of the opposing faction. This thread has 2 main purposes: 1. Introduce the OVERALL idea of the system, not only to the fans of the game, but also to BioWare. 2. Leave the discussion open to proper brainstorming, where we could find a fun and effective way to implement this. So basically, we want AWARENESS and we want IDEAS!
  9. Some like minded players and I were discussing the possibility of some kind of Master and Apprentice system within the game. At this point we were just kicking around ideas, but we all thought it'd be awesome to have one in place. In a nutshell, lvl 50 (or top tier) characters would be able to attain master status and take on an apprentice in the form of a lower level player. In this way, both players would get some kind of special bonus from the master/apprentice interaction. Not only that, but the UI could display the names of each character as the master/apprentice of the other. Some of the benefits of such a system could be -Expanded replayability for 50s -social bonuses for masters -xp bonuses for apprentices -master/apprentice specialty missions -possible force powers that require such a relationship At this point, it's just an idea, but I would really appreciate any input this community could give on the matter. I think with a little brainstorming and the right voices in this community, this idea could turn into something epic and fun, so please, post away and suggest!
  10. Is it possible to go to other planets where the opposing faction is abundant? If so, can you fight with other players on those planets? I'd love to take my future guardian and destroy some sith in the name of the republic. If not, is this something you'd wanna see in the game? I personally would love that. Finally, let me say that I absolutely love this game. I'm not big into MMOs at all (Tried WoW twice, it wasn't fun.) but I really love Star Wars and I've been waiting for this game for a while.
