  1. They did say they're taking it slow during the holidays and that's why there will be a delay in the next patch. Sorry.
  2. There's also the IGN contact page. It might be one for corporate contacts, but eh... one never knows. Seeing how I am going to be unable to post in a few days due to canceling subscription, it might be best if someone else contacts them first.
  3. Could always try IGN too. While not LGBT-focused, they seem interested in sexuality/gender as it relates to PC/Video games, judging by a recent article that addresses the issues female gamers face. I know, I know, not exactly the same, not very similar, but eh... they are a pretty major gaming news site, so contacting them might not hurt, plus they give contact information to the big hats, so you could end up in a dialogue with someone who can make things happen.
  4. You mean besides the people posting to support it? That's who. I guess you care as well, if you took the time to come here and post about it. What's your next rhetoric question?
  5. That could also be translated as.... "Well, we'll be adding more companions and they'll likely have the SGRA capability." Doesn't mean that existing ones will be excluded.
  6. Have not heard such from an official source myself, and will be terribly disappointed if it were indeed the case.
  7. I don't know. Kira does strike me as at least curious in that regard. Kaliyo is a bit too much like Jack from ME... and I was VERY surprised that Jack wasn't bi. Not sure about Elara... been a while since I played and I guess she didn't strike me as that interesting at the time EDIT: Although in ME3, Jack does also make some comments that show that she is decidedly bi, but probably wasn't that interested in FemShep..
  8. I doubt I would if they keep dragging their feet. At this point, it's more a case of being disappointed in the company altogether, having been a firm supporter of their products up until this point. I wouldn't have minded being told that they changed their mind... as long as they went and told us. The silence coming from them is deafening, even though there was the promise of "this year". Fine, plans changed, you lost funding, you lost developers, etc, etc, etc. Be responsible and go ahead and let us actually know what's happening so we can plan accordingly.
  9. While true, if they decide to include it in an actual expansion, it might well go that way too. Not for SGRs alone, but for say... Chapter 4 + Level cap + SGRs + new companions, etc.
  10. As long as they don't make us pay for that extra content, I'm fine with that. It would be the final nail in the coffin for me if they ask us to buy SGRs.
  11. That's more of a maybe from what I can gather. I could be wrong, but eh.... " As soon as we have final confirmation that is happening, we’ll let you know to give you a heads up." <-- That's more a case of... we don't know if we're still implementing this thing or not, but when we do know, we'll tell you. Bit amusing that they can't even say... "Yes, it's coming" or "No, it's not coming"
  12. And I reject your reality and substitute my own. And really, the issue you seem to be having is that YOU don't want romances. That's all fine and dandy, nobody is asking you to like them, nor is anyone asking you to play them out. If you easily made it through the BH line without romancing someone, what's to say you can't make it through the other story lines without romancing anyone else... be they SGR or OGR. Essentially, what you're trying to say is... hey, I like my world where everyone is asexual and no-one ever has any kind of urges like that, but I'd really love it if everyone else got the same world forced on them. What, pray tell, gives you the right to decide what I'd like to see in SWTOR? Are you trying to say that you're more important than everyone else who plays? Then again, you're here, yelling about SGRAs, so... I guess what you're trying to say is that you're better than anyone who's not heterosexual. Not really a good stance there, sir. How about I find where that report button is hiding and write a nice letter regarding your discrimination tendencies? Would that make your world a bit better?
  13. Was actually just going to point Kira out myself. Took the words right from the tips of my fingers.
  14. Yes, they're not telling us things because a bunch of other MMOs that have companion romances will pick that idea up and do it the same way. Oh wait... there aren't a bunch of other MMOs that have companion romances. In fact, I can't even think of one. That said, there aren't a bunch of other MMOs that have space missions either... or Makeb... An increase to level cap is a pretty straightforward thing too. There's no point of an NDA in the first place. I can understand not wanting to put out spoilers. Heck, all of us can, but the fact is, it IS preventing us from playing right now. Your opinion on companion romances is just that... your opinion. I tried a companion romance on my IA with Vector... and I definitely enjoyed the whole thing. Was it 5 minutes? Maybe... did I enjoy it any less because it was only 5 minutes? I doubt it. I'm even looking forward to story updates because it's likely to have even more stuff to play with Vector. Do I want to romance Kira without making a male JK? DUH... of course I do, Kira is the companion I liked the most out of the whole lot. Do I want to romance Jaesa without making a male character for it? Damn straight I do. Do I like any of the other male romance options? Hell no. For some reason, a bunch of them are a bit too... in your face enthusiastic for my liking. Not knowing how said romances would pan out means that I have no option but not to play my characters until some clarification is given. And truthfully, if they have no idea how they're making it happen at this point, they might as well come out and say that SGRAs won't be coming out until the end of next year so people can stop worrying about it, because that's probably how long it would take if they're still at the planning stage and haven't done any actual recording, story writing, coding for it.
  15. Le Sigh... yet another person coming in here, trying to point out how we're throwing a tantrum about this content and how we want it now. Open your eyes and read next time, eh? All we want is a clarification. Are SGRAs still coming? If yes, when? My letter to GLAAD only stated that we are lacking any kind of information or update. It did not say... "Hey, GLAAD, go ahead and yell at EAWare to put SGRAs in pronto." As stated, some of us ARE NOT playing, waiting on news regarding the way this content will be handled because we want to experience it. I, myself, have not played TOR seriously since a week after the Guild Summit, but have kept my subscription up and going during that entire time to support the company. Do I deserve to receive said content because of it? No more than anyone else. Do I deserve to know if said content is no longer coming so I can go ahead and finish the story line of my characters? I'd say I do. Do I deserve to know if said content has been postponed so that I can continue to wait patiently? Again, the answer would be yes, at least in my opinion. If you believe that SGRAs will be the end of TOR, that's your opinion, but that doesn't mean it also gives you the right to come in and rant at us with the whole doom and gloom speech. No, we're not saying that your opinion doesn't matter, we're merely claiming that if you are going to ride in, telling us that what we want doesn't matter is counter-productive. All it will achieve is to aggravate us further, nothing more. If that is what you plan to accomplish, well then, I guess your posts will end up being on the reported list. So, do extend us the same courtesy that we extend you by not coming in the threads with the issues that concern you the most and starting to rant at how they're useless and how SGRA is more important.
  16. A fair amount of the people posting about the content on the forums require only a couple of simple answers... "Is it still coming? When?" Last info we got was in March. That's plenty of time for them to have figured something out in that regard. Others might go as far as to ask the question... "How is it going to work?" Do we level up to 50 and have our companion conversations reset, or do we stop leveling as soon as we run into companions we'd like to romance? I do understand that moving to the F2P model might have cost some extra resources and that said resources might have been diverted from production of the SGR content, but really... is it so much to ask to get a simple answer like... "We're still working on it, guys, it'll happen in 3 months" or whatever? Instead, we get shoved into a single thread that has grown beyond proportion and that hasn't seen a single response to our questions. Why? So that we don't interfere with the rest of the population? Stick the LGBT community in the corner, away from the "normal" people, so that it won't spread? I can also understand not wanting to give out spoilers, but just an update as to whether the content is still coming or not isn't really a spoiler, I don't think. Even knowing which companions would be available for such isn't a spoiler. The blind faith in Bioware died out in most of us several months ago, and it's not because of something we did, it's because of something they did... or rather something they didn't do - mainly give us some information in response to our questions. Ball's in your court, Bioware. I sure hope you'll show us that you can still be considered a game developer that actually cares about its consumer base.
  17. Sadly, it sounds about right. I love how they claim that it's an RPG, how there are RP servers (Or well, one nowadays) and how you run into names like "Darthyoda" on said RP servers that are lvl 50s and have likely been reported several times for failing to follow the naming conventions of RP realms, yet still exist. All in all, the RPG part of MMORGPs is non-existent. RP is not just the ability to gain experience, learn skills and equip different gear. Need to have tools and the capability to actually role-play... which with a 4-line chat buffer is completely useless. I need to use 4 chat buffers to pull off a decent emote... let alone if I get in a creative mood and start writing paragraphs. When I get in the mood, even the Second Life chat buffer (Which is pretty damn huge) is not enough for me, let alone the pitiance TOR and similar MMOs offer.
  18. Well said. I'll definitely agree to some if not all points you made. Of course, if the devs really ARE stringing us along, you can imagine the amount of bad publicity they'll get in the process. The LGBT community isn't small, so stringing such a large group along in such a way can only lead to one thing... any future games they make being boycotted by said community. Do you think that is such a smart move? At this point, all we're wanting for is an answer. Is it still coming? We don't know how they'll deal with adding SGRs if they still are. Do we need to level our characters up and get them to 50 to be able to take advantage of this content? Will we need to start over with numerous characters to be able to do such? I got Kira on my JK and I stopped playing her. Same with several other characters that I have... I reached a companion that I'd love to romance and am unable to at present and I stopped playing them in hopes that I will see this content added soon. At this point, I don't have a character I can play. If I get a no... I'd likely still finish the characters I started to see the rest of their story. Would I continue to play after that? I haven't decided yet. I was never really too big on raids/operations/whatever-you-want-to-call-them and I never cared much for PvP. Beyond that, I don't see what else TOR can offer me. I could never get into RP in a visual media and most MMOs seem to have this very short limitations in regards to the amount of text one can post in a single go, so it makes it rather annoying for me to try and RP too. Still, if I had access to SGRs, I could try extra characters as well to experience other companions' romance... not to mention trying to see how things work out as the other alignment. Fact is, I will cancel my subscription at some point in the near future. Will it happen due to the deafening silence regarding this issue or due to the fact that I've experienced all I could from TOR? I'm waiting for some information on that.
  19. I've looked at it. I tend to be a lot more lurky than posty myself, but I do keep track of how this thread is going, at least.
  20. Well, might as well throw my two cents in. Thank you for providing the link.
  21. Yes, he does say that... and here comes the but... yay, romances, but... will they be SG or not? That's a question that is yet unanswered, sadly.
  22. Here's the way I look at this... and I'm probably repeating myself at this point, but... Okay, SGR is story content. Okay, extra chapters are story content. We're not asking for spoilers. All we're asking is "When?", you don't need to drop any information in regards to the way the content works to say... "Hey guys, SGRs are coming and you can expect them by the end of January, early February at the latest. That is all." Heck, even a simple... "Yes, SGRs are still coming." would work to alleviate some of the annoyance.
  23. The tone, eh? We don't mind if SGRA has been postponed... at least I don't anyway, not sure about others. What I do mind is the information blackout regarding it. Can't they at least tell us... "Hey, guys, sorry, but SGRA is not coming/is coming much later than anticipated." That's really all that most people posting on this topic want (At least from my observations). Of course, if they tell us it's not coming, we get to say... eh, laters, TOR, it was fun while it lasted. That, in and of itself is likely to reduce the already reduced player base. While I can understand the fear relating to that, they're not going to win any extra points two patches down the road if the content doesn't arrive. People will get annoyed, angry, etc, etc. As I mentioned earlier in this topic, I haven't played TOR in months, but I have kept my subscription alive to support the devs in the hopes that I'll get to see this game grow and hopefully see the content that they promised us. That's me being loyal... and what do I get in return? Absolutely nothing, not even a peep. At this point, I guess I should start to get angry. I'm giving it enough time for another patch after the one currently on the PTR... and if I get nothing information-wise, I'll just be on my way and then never buy a Bioware product anymore. It's simply gotten to where we should all just go and say... too little, too late.
  24. I'll certainly agree with you on that. Here's how I understand the whole delay.... given a coder and a writer of equal skill, writing code is much easier than writing story. You know what needs to happen and you have a relatively good base idea on how it can happen. While some things need reworking every now and then, it's pretty much a straight path. A story is much more complicated as it requires a lot more imagination. I can understand that, but... I haven't seen a whole lot of story content being added to the game, which makes me think that either they fired all their writers once the game was out (Overall, a pretty bad idea, considering it being a story-driven game) or they have one too many things said writers are working on rather than focusing on single projects to get them out of the way. Players will always want more, so prioritizing tasks for the writers in an attempt to get content out in a timely fashion should really be done, because honestly, I don't see why there would be a hold-up otherwise. Disclaimer: I know there's a whole lot of ifs and maybes in this post. It is pretty much me letting my train of thought go. Practically nothing in this post is and can be substantiated by evidence I am able to provide.
  25. And when will there be enough PvP/PvE content so that prioritizing will work to put in SGRs? I don't know about you, but it takes me exactly one go at a raid and it's boring to me. On that note, I'm a bit of an altoholic. I enjoy leveling characters a lot more than farming the same raid over and over and over again. I'm sure I'm not alone. What I'm trying to say here is... if I was to push for PvE content, it'd come slower and less often than I get bored with it, and then things that are "low-priority" for you like SGRs end up being implemented... never. Fact is, you're asking for more content for the PvP and the PvE crowd. All nice and dandy, I don't object to that... I won't bother with it a whole lot, but I won't oppose it either. What we're doing is asking for more content as well, nothing else. While it may not be game-breaking or game-making, I doubt it will hurt to have it either. And really, if content is low-priority, then what is? In my opinion, it's bug fixes that need addressing first and foremost. Anything beyond that really falls under the same category. But anyway... Nobody's asking that everything else be tossed away or stopped. All we're asking for is some storyline for people that prefer SGR. I'm not playing TOR. I don't want to play it to begin with, not until I have something to tickle my fancy. Why? Because if I get everything to lvl 50 and see all the storylines, then SGR gets implemented... well, I'll be replaying the same thing and skipping everything except the new content? It might be 5%, it might be less, but it's still part of the story... and experiencing it out of context and out of order kind of breaks the entertainment value... at least for me. SGR coming with a game expansion rather than a game patch kind of makes it worse. We have to pay for the right to be of a different sexuality now? Here we go again with majority versus minority. You're saying that I shouldn't go yelling discrimination when you keep going with "We have more of X than Y, so X needs to get more content than Y." That, in and of itself, is discrimination. I know you can't make all players happy. It's simply impossible to get a group of say... one million people together and make sure that everyone is happy while being put in the same situation, even if the situation is to give them each a million dollars a piece. There will always be someone that will find something to complain about. What they do at that point is try their best to make the highest percentage of people playing the game happy. And that, sometimes, includes making changes that affect minorities. We're expecting to be given the same thing that any hetero-sexual person gets out of their storyline. Nothing more, nothing less. Priorities again... really? The promise was.... "You can expect SGR sometime this year." Well, guess what, this year is almost over... and we're not getting even a hint of it being near completion. I might be wrong here, it could come next patch, but honestly... not even a peep when PvE content gets previews practically two patches ahead? I play an MMO because I enjoy interacting with others while playing. Sometimes those interactions suck like when someone decides to go ahead and be a jerk by trying to interfere with your questing or whatever, and sometimes it's good interactions when you get help for a quest from an unlikely source and chat a bit with others. Endgame being shallow will change... when? How much endgame is "enough"? 10 raids? 50? 500? And yes, you're pretty much saying... "Put SGRs in after you've sated all of us with PvE." But... let's say a year from now, there comes an expansion, raising the level cap, then you'd need new endgame content, more raids, etc, etc... so when does the cycle stop? Does it ever? If SGRs are being postponed until "endgame is better", it'll likely end up being implemented when there's no-one left to appreciate it. To recap: You keep throwing the same argument out over and over and over again while trying to dress it with different words. From what I understood of your post, it comes down to "Raids and WZs important, SGR - not because there's more PvP-ers and PvE-ers than people with different sexuality. Give the majority more content." I'd honestly recommend looking up the meaning of discrimination before posting.
