  1. Losing 1500 power is not a small difference. Yes power doesn't affect your tanking mitigation at all, but if you don't have the right stats you will lose threat on any good dps. I highly recommend making sure you have tech power for your powertech and force power for your juggernaut.
  2. Thanks for everyone's replies! I understand that crit is probably better, I've just never been a fan of rng, even if the odds are stacked in my favor I seem to lose out. I have been messing around with alacrity on other characters and the faster casts, lowers cds and quicker gameplay is more exciting to me. So I think I am going to try combat full alacrity and see how it plays out. If that doesn't seem to be doing much to the enemies I'll probably swap out some alacrity for some crit.
  3. I honestly think that this is a bug with group finder. It takes forever for my queue to pop as solo tank on prime time, but I queue with a dps friend and it is instant. I've tried several times to solo queue as tank and I have left before a pop each time due to time constraints.
  4. Hello, my friends and I were going to try PvPing, as we haven't played in awhile, and wanted to see if it was still as fun as it was in the past. I decided I wanted to try out Sentinel for PvP, as I like the class and think I could have a good time bouncing around and smacking things with 2 sabers. Anyway, the guides I have read basically all seem to point to using crit mostly, and I was wondering if any of the specs would be viable with mainly speccing for alacrity, and of course expertise. I am not totally opposed to using crit, but alacrity is much more interesting to me, and I would like to build a character based on alacrity as long as it is even remotely viable compared to crit. I am mainly interested in Watchman, but I am not opposed to the other two as well. If alacrity is a viable build, how much should I stop at? Is there a value of alacrity that is the softcap. i.e. 10%, 15% or w/e. Thanks in advance! TL:DR; Is alacrity viable for a watchman sentinel who will only be pvping? What value should I stop at if so?
  5. I'm confused, do you mean your ultilities? You can't reset your stats. If you mean ultilities, most of them do not actually directly affect your ability to tank damage, they mostly add utility to your character, allowing them to do other things at ease. There are a few must have utilities, but for the most part, it is pretty relaxed on what you want to pick. Deadly Reprisal, and Intimidating prescence are two I would recommend for sure.
  6. I personally like the look of the commando trooper over the mercenary BH. If you are going damage, I like the fact that the commando uses his big gun primarily versus the merc who uses rockets instead of his blasters. As for the body type, I made my commando type 2 male, and I always regretted it. I think type 3 for trooper, and type 2 or 3 for mercenary works best. But its all a matter I'd opinion of course.
  7. He didn't mean being able to switch between advanced classes, he meant to switch between specs in your advanced class and not have to respec every day or so to be able to raid and do FPs. If the raiding only requires 1ish tank per run and FPs need about 4 tanks to get 16 people from a guild geared, then they should definitely add dualspecs into the game.
