Seriously. I can only come to a hypothesis of political failure within EA. They have the technology. High Pop servers are online. They've completed multiple server transfers where we really didn't get a choice. Cartel shop is up and running. The F2P is live and should have ZERO bearing on where paying customers want their toons (which server). The only reason this could be not currently available is if there is an initiative from on high somewhere within where they ultimately want this MMO model to fail so that they can better pitch into product markets where they have more investment. I see other issues with the game that should've long ago been resolve that do not, in any way, detract from my suspicion. Server transfers cost them nothing and there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of people whom have posted here and all over the net, requesting this option, and offering to PAY REAL MONEY for the service for over 9 months. So, either EA is HORRIBLY fail and mismanaged (likely), or could care less about the success of this product (signs point to this), or the fail that EA pushed on BW was intentional (signs also point to this) - or a mix of all three.

This sounds like a great product. I haven't tested it myself because I use ISBoxer in order to run 2 clients on one machine (One actively gaming; one for crew skilling/GTN activities). Is it safe to believe that this utility would not work with my current configuration? (Given that I have to launch my pair of clients from ISBoxer, preventing my ability to launch from your application) Do you have any idea how I could make this work? If not, I'm still happy to bump your thread for great Justice!

OK, I'm starting a-new on BC. My 1st characters will be 'pub side. I am typically playing online from 7pm server time sometimes until 4am. I'm looking for an active guild with a website that members actually use and an active voicechat. I'm not hardcore RP but, I am supportive of players in to that. I'm OK with or without RP. Honestly, server transfers of choice should be free, given a frequency limit (i.e. you can't keep flip-flopping servers daily). However, with F2P imminent, I'm sure EA will try to suck the marrow from the paid transfers bag. Nevermind the fact that their server-balancing "suggested but not forced" (yeah right) moves are what stuck some of us on servers we don't want to begin with.

I like seeing the creativity that's being brought into this thread. I'd offer another: Make an alt using special characters in the name to mimic the guild leader's or another officer's alt. Then viciously troll /1 while alternating with generic recruiting messages to said guild.

Greetings, I'm on the fence about what to do with SWTOR. I love the game but I was abandoned by friends on JC (East Coast) and I'm usually not active until 11pm(EST) or later. I am considering waiting until paid transfers but, TBH with 6 Imperial 50s and 3 slicing alts to move, I'm not sure the service would be worth the expense. I might be better served just starting over and moving a single toon later to preserve Legacy unlocks. I need to be on a West Coast server. I don't really do a lot of RP but, I am thinking maybe a RP community would be more helpful and close than the troll-spawn I deal with constantly on JC. I know people on BC will mostly be biased in favor of their own server but I'd still rather get feedback "from the horse's mouth" so-to-speak. Also, is there much of a late-night crowd on BC? I mean real numbers? I'm usually on all night.

Yes, I was there for beta. Some people spamming the forums doesn't constitute a majority of the player base who largely don't even use the forums. Again, you're convoluting the point by disputing whether Cathar was ever of interest to the larger fanbase. Moot point on both sides. And, unless I'm confused, you simply reiterated my suggestion that Cathar will be the very reason that future races may never even be offerred.

I'd like to see your data that indicates Cathar was one of the most requested races. I've met 3 people since beta that would even consider rolling a Cathar toon. Pick any random group of 20 people not on fleet and see how many of them care about Cathar. Then do it a few more times. I'm willing to bet you will see less than 10% interest. However, maybe that's the stat you're alluding to. Maybe you're suggesting that less than 10% of player interest still makes it a "top requested" option. All moot points. The reality is, popular concensus is that there a several more attractive alternatives to the Cathar race. Also, a moot point. Cathar are being implemented first regardless of how requested their race was. My fear isn't the Cathar reality. My fear is for a lack of additional developments along these lines based on the unsuprising lack of enthusiasm that will be evident when this race goes live. TL;DR: Cathar are coming. Most of us don't care. When the major portion of the player base refuses to dump accolades for the option, expect BW/EA to blame the players for a lack of additional races or delays leading to future new races.

Werd. Lack of this feature is why I'll likely not be resubbing. It really sucks because, I don't have any other game I'd rather be playing but, I'm tired of being stuck on a server where when I get on, everyone is almost done with Ops or offline.

@SamuraBob_Fl I have to agree with the spirit of your complaint here. I am glad they added in the return to planet option but requiring Fleet travel for rewards and to pick up daily quests is still a massive, inefficient failure. I guess no one at BW has ever heard of Lean or Six Sigma.

Does this not worry anyone? Is he not basically saying "We're going to introduce a racial option that 90+% of the population will have no interest in using. Then, based on it's failure, we'll likely not waste efforts on additional races while, at the same time, blame the player base for their lack of support. Am I the only one who frequently feels like the only real inspration the BW team took from Lucas was his arrogance? Basically ignore fans and supporters in the name of their "Vision" and then simultaneously blame those who brought them a measure of success for the lack of evolution in their own product?

I recently unsubbed despite having a lot of hope for and getting a lot of enjoyment from, this game. 1 - My primary issue is the delay in offereing transfers to server of choice. I feel a lot of people have unsubbed for the same reason: I was conned by friends into joining a server in Timezone X even though I am in Timezone Y and now I can never find a guild that does HM Ops or progression during the times I play. My fear is that when BW/EA finally does add paid xfrs, they'll nick/dime us like their competitiors and expect $25/character to transfer. I have 6 50s and a fleet of crew skill alts across 2 accounts. I will not pay $25/character. 2 - Paying for beta. The first 3 months I was an avid defender of people who tried to compare TOR's level of polish against games with 1 - 8 years of development ahead of them. This game has been retail now for over 9 months. We are not as easily excited by new content when persistent bugs and genre-standard features are still not resolved. We also don't understand why BW continues to break things every time they do a patch despite having a PTS. Did you exclusively recruit for SWTOR from Fullsail?!

I'm bumping this just because there was no excuse for the change. Many people I know grinded social just for this set - in white, not necro-smurf blue.

As of 9/25 the Ops leader of their Narcoleptic Insomniacs OPS Team indicated he was stepping down and possibly un-subbing. I'm not trying to troll, I'm just looking for a solid and established late night Imperial HMFP/HM Ops team with room for a tank.
