  1. Every warzone the person with the most damage done gets all of the votes. Healers never win. I usually top healing and I've never even gotten a single vote. How about expanding the categories or something?
  2. September 7, in as of the 10am central time push. I think they'll finish with the rest of september today since it was the lowest preorder batch. good luck
  3. that chart is US ONLY. so your rough estimate is also tainted by the fact that its incomplete data. Also, wave 2 just went out and they're up through Aug 25. This puts the number per wave at well over 100k... more like 125k
  4. I'd rather be rude than OMG PLZZZZZZZZZZ MORE BONUS SERVERS ALL GREEN STATUS. Simmer, they send them out throughout the day to cap concurrency for those who can be home, and prep for primetime when the majority are.
  5. don't think so. first of all i can 100% confirm people from outside of july got in yesterday. so at least one of the waves had RNG to it. an error? perhaps. but a friend of a friend preordered in nov and is playing, and reserved names. also, july had massively more preorders than the other months put together. so doing it month by month made no sense. I think they'll chip into early sept today, they are sending out way more per wave and there are way less per month now.
  6. are you unclear of the fact that people have lives / are at work or school and the rolled out preorders will be at their maximum today during US primetime? Good then, you'll understand why the server load at 8:55AM central has no relevance to the staggered launch.
  7. this chart is already apparently incorrect if not disproven entirely as we're 1/3 of the way through the 2nd window after one wave today. The estimate people are throwing around is 100k per wave, with it already up to august 8. At that size, it wouldn't be out of the question to get everything up to and including september in by the last wave, since us preorders were only 130k for all of sept. My estimate is at least all of august with some of sept today.
  8. Friend of a friend got in and was November pre-order. So while the vast majority seem to be from early dates, there was also RNG to this. I can 100% confirm this.
  9. read the sentence. they said: EARLY LAUNCH IS NOT A STRESS TEST so WE WILL DO WAVES BECAUSE NOT DOING WAVES = A STRESS TEST. Reading comprehension
  10. I took an arrow in the knee, but then i got my early access email and moonwalked away from this thread
  11. I disagree with it. There is nothing wrong with segmented rollout of a pre-launch. The wrong part was not telling people when they'd get in, after changing the potential date. I wish I would have kept my schedule open on the 15th instead of moving it to today/tomorrow. Even announcing "we are going to let X% in every day for a week, so preorder early to get your spot" would have worked. They then could have a simple date show in your account as to when you should expect the e-mail. It is so bizarrely obvious and simple it leads to anger/suspicion as to how they could have missed this or why they're doing it this other way intentionally. And their smoke and mirrors twitter/ "CS" is also disconcerting.
  12. to be fair, the term "may" is semantically vague. May can mean "are allowed to" You may have a piece of pie = confirmation that you are allowed. May can also mean "might be allowed to" You may have a piece of pie = statement that you possible will be able to. The more important term is "up to" Up to 100% off! Could mean 0%, could mean 100%. The bottomline is they were vague. If they had surprised everyone by starting early. I would have kept the 15th as the original "this is when i can play" date. They are throwing around terms like BONUS WAVE like its some sort of favor that they're allowing us in to the game we paid for. It's also a perceived slap in the face by those who did in fact preorder very early but not early enough. This sort of favoritism will not do well in the long run. Their twitter feed and the way this has been handled just reeks of inexperience, and clouds an otherwise really great launch concept. all they needed to do was tell people in advance when they'd be able to play. Giving a window and having bonuses to the window's fluctuation just sounds like they don't know what they're doing. Of course, all the rage will go away after people get in. But it would have been better to avoid the rage by sending out a simple email a week ago telling people when they'd get in.
  13. None of this is even directly relevant. They should just tell people when they're going to be batched. Whatever pseudorandom / arbitrary process they're going through they could simply have done LAST WEEK. And told us. I don't care about playing in advance, i don't care about server stability. My point is that their very good reasons do not excuse the fact that this could have been handled differently. I wouldn't mind starting 4 days from now, but they have to TELL ME THAT so i can SCHEDULE PLAYING THE GAME. This is a holiday season, probably the worst time from many players' perspective to launch a long-awaited MMO. For others, sure, its probably the best. But unfortunately for me a vacation from work doesn't mean I'm sitting online the entire time. Everything was done right except for the notifications. I was notified for beta weekends in advance. I was notified re: guild creation in advance. I was notified about account creation in advance. I was notified about the preorders in advance. So yeah, I'm going to go with them not notifying me of the date i can start playing in advance as a botch. And the twitter responses of "you'll know when you can play via email" is a slap in the face non-answer to the question.
  14. looks like you didn't read the first letters of the sentences. you lose. that aside, the point still stands, having a random/vague/arbitrary start time is silly. The only thing I can schedule right now is the official launch date. The assumption anyone sane would make is that eventually they would solidify the early play start date for anyone. That is what is ridiculous. Nobody intelligent cares about "may" and "up to"... the point is they suck for not saying exactly when at some point. You have to realize that the early access isn't just LOL LET ME IN FIRST it's also the fact that the launch is christmas week. I will personally be unable to play until january starting two days from now. They pushed forward the early access start date, so I could do nothing but move my schedule. My assumption was wrong that they'd do the intelligent thing and notify their customers when the game was soft launching. If I would have left my schedule for the original early launch window, i'd be fine. But since this was made unclear from the outset I moved it. Shrug. Look at their twitter posts, EVEN THOSE NOW ARE VAGUE. "One more to go today!" OOPS I MEAN MORE THAN ONE ITS A BONUS. Without any explanation. The reality is they're doing this on purpose so the next time they have a preorder you don't hesitate so that you don't have to deal with this nonsense. Who'd have thought that you'd be punished for buying a game before its even available because you didn't buy it early enough? That is simply ridiculous.
  15. So they automated "bonus waves"? Not much of a bonus, huh. I don't think so. This whole thing sucks. And they're doing it so that the next time they have some sort of preorder you snap it up that much more so you get the best access, etc. Instead we should tell them this is garbage so they never dangle this carrot again. They need to have set early access dates. They should send out emails saying when you can play, far in advance. Then if you can play earlier, great, thats not the issue, the issue is scheduling time to do it.
  16. This is completely ridiculous. Haven't you ever thought we deserve the same early access as Everyone else? God, I mean really I Am completely annoyed at why I can't play this right now. My mom is a lawyer and is going to be representing a potential Enormous class action lawsuit that is until you read the first letter of each sentence
  17. I took an arrow in the knee until I took a swtor email in my inbox
  18. As an "older player" maybe you understand the notion of having to schedule your game time around your real life obligations like a job and family. When they said they were pushing up the early access, I changed schedules accordingly. Now it is "well that's just a bonus." Maybe its a bonus for people who have no obligations and waiting on an email to play a game doesn't interrupt their lives. As was said before: I got warning of beta tests. I got warning of when guild cutoffs were happening. No warning about when I can play this game? They're launching the week of christmas. A lot of people relied on scheduling a day or two in the early access to get any game time in *THIS YEAR*. So really, can it. Older is clearly not wiser.
  19. I've cracked the pattern, please confirm 12/13 - Those who enjoy the bold and tangy zip of Miracle Whip (in their pants) 12/14 - Wearing diapers because they're so practical 12/15 - Those with an X and 2 Q's in their name: 3 total Xavier Queequeg 12/16 - Not doing any, but pretending like they did 12/17 - Bodybuilders, ripped abs, pro wrestlers 12/18 - Those with 300+ hours into skyrim 12/19 - Everyone else.
  20. of course! 2 screens, of course i'd have one of my screens looking at the "when will i get in" thread. no, no i won't.
  21. yea, who cares about them. i'm in the "this is a stupid way of handling it" camp. they should know exactly how many they're letting in, and exactly who. It is absolutely no different except you don't have people apparently boiling with rage because they have no idea how to schedule their free time so they can play this. Just a spoiler, but launching your mmo the week before christmas is a really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really dumb idea
  22. from twitter: The third wave of Early Game Access emails have been sent, one more to go! Why only one more today? Are you kidding?
  23. quoting for truth. unfortunately i shifted my work schedule under the assumption that this would be like every other early access in the history of early access. instead we're doing server load testing still. none of this has anything to do with notifying people when they can expect to start. Right now we're in the dark to the point that we can only be certain that we will be playing at launch, while I'm sure you'll count an hour of early access as *trollface* early access, it is impossible to plan for that.
