    So now what?

well that's not true at all. I PvPed all the time in DAoC and Wow. While I was never a faceroller, I could enjoy myself most of the time. As it is, I guess my server is dead with the sith guild. Maybe I'll try a different one.

    So now what?

I am a good player. We do group in premades on occasion. I am in almost a full centurion set (minus legs). In order to GET the gear, I need to PvP. If I PvP, I get facerolled and baby jesus cries. It seems to me that this game's PvP rewards system is an exponential curve/catch 22. In order to get gear you need to PvP. In order to PvP competently you need gear. And my GOD, "worked hard" ?? I thought I was playing a video game

    So now what?

My question is more about whether or not PvP is viable for non-hardcore players? I don't WANT to play 24-7. But when I do play, I would enjoy a PvP experience that is fun, challenging, and somewhat balanced. I recognize that you will come across uber-geared premades. They are in every game. But on my server, it appears they have taken over the PvP experience.
  4. You need to think a bit before you post.

    So now what?

I guess I've been on WoW land for too long, but without a larger pool to pull from for PvP matches: does the sith guild in full battlemaster gear that groups up in premades and facerolls every single alliance player regardless of gear mean that any PvP I will try to do in this server is now moot for me? I have zero interest in queueing up for matches where the scores are 50-0 for the top 3 sith players, and the top republic is at 1-8. Please consider cross-realm PvP. Thank you.
  6. clearly operatives in SWTOR. as for WoW, I find any healer/hybrid (when played well) to be the most 'overpowered' simply because of their ability to basically do everything. But I don't find any class in WoW to be overpowered really. A good player can make you curse the heavens just by skill. SWTOR, however, has an overpowered class in their stealth/burst build. If you look at ANY MMO ever, stealth/burst classes are evil if they catch you alone, but they need to play smart and not get caught by more than 1-2 players. In this game, their damage (when geared) is so outrageous and while squishier than most other classes are still WAY too HP heavy for a burst class, that they are clearly overpowered. Not to mention they can talent into an ability to insta-stealth and remove all DoTs. Most absurd game mechanic ever. If it was a 10 minute timer or something as a "OH NO!" ability that's one thing. As it is, it makes the classic counter for cloth wearers (DoTs) irrelevant against their rock/paper class of rogues/operatives. But this has been said 40000 times.
  7. you need to understand the context of that post, as I am in agreement with you. Please read thread before posting next time. Thank you.
  8. I think making DoTs prevent/break stealth is an easy fix. Which they apparently don't?
  9. please dont, lol. It will make everyone /sad on your server too.
  10. how do you counter an op? you can't. Stun opening move. Break it? fine. Second stun. Now you're stuck. DPS burst damage already has you to less than 50%. Stun breaks and you're slowed. by the time you turn you're less than 20% health (assuming he didn't crit you and you're dead). Now what? DPS? Fine. You do some dps. He's down to 80% and you're dead. Run? Fine. You're slowed, he follows and you're dead. I'd love to see your "counter" strategy for a class that can keep you stunned/slowed until you're dead/under 30% health.
  11. No, this isn't the whole story. The problem is they have INSANE burst damage which usually will drop you before you can react. But lets say you CAN react: They aren't EASY to kill. They are easiER than some other classes but it's not as if you can survive their opening volley you win. But the real issue is that even if you DO somehow start to turn the tide on them: POOF insta-stealth. They go somewhere, heal up, and try again in 20 seconds. Look, I've played PvP since Anarchy Online/DAoC. I understand the rogue mechanic. I understand burst damage. I understand that as a "cloth" wearer (I'm a sage), I'm probably going to die to a stealth class that gets the jump on me. But currently, a geared OPs player is an Iwin button. Now whether it's the class itself, or the biochem buffs, or whatever, I don't care. SOMETHING is crazy wrong with the current system. And it's, frankly, a gamebreaker for PVP. When I load in and I see the ops player in question, I know immediately the final tally will be him and his guildie with 50+ kills and zero deaths, and everyone else in the 4-10 range.
  12. I hope you're right regarding balance at level 50. As I said earlier after someone else's post: if it's true that classes do level out endgame, then they need to implement a better form of matchmaking. Otherwise, anyone not level 45+ won't be queing when these tactics become widespread. I am not exaggerating when I say you were dead within 5 seconds each time you got in range. 2-5 shotted each time. That's a broken mechanic...whether class or matchmaking or gear...SOMETHING. So I guess my complaint/feedback isn't so much "nerf bounty hunters" as it is "putting level 50s in a group with non-level 50s is a gamebreaker" which, apparently, has been expressed a few times already in this forum
  13. so the problem is not having level brackets. Great. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction for feedback.
