For those complaining about Facebook & Twitter, please come join the modern age. "Community", especially online community, must encompass these things. As the Community Manager, it was his job to ensure the entire online community was managed and leveraged; not just the official forums.
I would imagine SR used Twitter to post snippets he could, while he was awaiting internal approval for more info.
Yet he ignored the official forums, which with most MMOs to date is the goto place for game information, not Twitter.

Not even close but keep on dreaming
Did you even play Warhammer Online? I played it from release and it is almost identical situation happening again. Patches promised and many features left out, too many servers with low populations and merges left too late, severe class imbalance and lack of endgame content. This is Warhammer 2.0 hell they even have some of the same dev team.

It's a good game for me because I have fun playing it even though there's many flaws.
As for numbers, they never were an indication on how good something is for me. There's plenty of movies, albums, ... that were huge commercial success but that I found pretty crappy and at same time, unknown gems not even profitable that I really liked.
Of course fun is subjective, but as far as i'm concerned for an MMORPG to be "good" it has to have a lot of longevity and replayability. The game is great as a single player game, but really the multiplayer content and options right now are pretty weak.

Unrealistic expectations? Not really, I wanted this game to be as fun as or better than Guild Wars (1) which was released in 1996 btw. It's a sad testament to EABioware that they can't make a better game than that, when they have so many examples and ideas from other MMOs to look at. As well as already having a team that worked on an MMO (Warhammer Online).

Could be good news, could be bad news Layoffs and restructuring might enable SWTOR to fix its current state and rev things into a higher gear. I am sure that EA and BW execs are furious at the current subscription problems and server populations, not to mention lack of progress in some content and features areas.
Maybe SWTOR gets revitalized with these layoffs. Or....maybe it's just a definite sign that things are going just as badly as this forum thinks they are.
I don't think so, they need an entirely different design team as well as someone who can sort out the server populations.

No full premade queue, no cross server queues, server population dropping due to these reasons among others. I was on one of the biggest servers in EU now we rarely even get multiple warzone queues so its just the same guild premade stomping us over and over.
For PVE our guild pretty much cleared everything by now, it doesn't really take that long, once you have all the gear there is no point rerunning the same tired boss fights. There needs to be more things to do outside, such as minigames, racing pazaak perhaps more types of space combat, player housing - more options to customize appearance and colours etc.

I just can't believe people are complaining about class balance when something like 190 of the 213 North American and European servers are too dead to play.
Yeah and I would bet a lot of people left due to class imabalance, and indeed lack of viable options for each class in PVP.

I haven't unsubbed but I haven't been playing for a few weeks.
Valor 74 and also Valor 72 characters (Day 1 early access player, following game for many years - but never a fanboy)
Main reason for leaving: no rated warzone full premade warzones and server population dying (initially one of the first EU servers created).
The game has failed more or less the same way as Warhammer Online did. Many features offered in a content patch and not enough delivered - not to mention lack of response to customer feedback or just plain ignorance of it.
Server merges left way too late (again same with Warhammer Online) too afraid it will look bad on the company, yet the people actually playing on quiet servers will stop playing the game altogether, which is even worse.
Would I resubscribe: No, Customers are not valued with this company

Why they are strong is because % dmg from expertise has gone up considerably with defense and healing lagging behind. It's no surprise that a dps class benefits from this environment, especially one with several strong defensive abilities. I still believe Assassins are the strongest PVP class but Marauders are pretty damn nasty atm.

It is needed unless you propose a better system in your OP, which you have not done, grats.

WZ credit rewards feel harsh to me too but i think its a risk/reward ratio that kicked in for this thing, since pvping hardly produces any repair bill and in theory at least gets all its consumables via warzone commendations, its an activity that has 0 costs and it would be unfair if it produced the same money as an activity that would result in high costs such as repairs or medpack costs.
Though with the costs of the legacy system plus the need to remod gear or even perchase augmented gear does seem to make it extremely hard on ppl that only do pvp to make money.
If you get any repair bill from anything other than 16 man raids, you are just bad.

Taunt, Guard, CC, Kiting.
These are the skills that good teams use to protect their healer.
If you aren't doing these things, then your team is not supporting a pure HPS built healer and your healer should not be wearing PvE gear.
If you have 0 expertise the tank guarding you will take a lot more damage than if you had some survivability, think about that before you go wearing your special "healing gear".
As a tank I will not guard anyone with stupidly low Expertise because it's just incredibly inefficient to do so.

Everybody who feels happy about the new change from 3 to 1 minimum medals should look into his heart and think again about how good he really is. I know a healthy ego will always assume that you are at least decent, but let me tell you, no.
Also, I liked the reward decrease for losers. This motivated people SO MUCH to focus on the game, I could feel my teams playing better. Of course it's not bad now either, the new medal system is still awesome, so I'm not complaining, just want to let you know that if you like these changes, like specifically feeling happy about them, than you are bad.
It didn't motivate people, it made people quit the warzone if they were losing, oh and pretty pathetic on calling "bad" if they like the changes, very mature indeed.

Want to thank all those that unsubbed and all those that made criticisms of the low rewards in the last patch, without your rage or ranting we wouldn't have the improvement we have today.
-
No not at all. Sorry maybe I wasn't clear. 3 of us were on vent. The sage and I were arguing that to maximize the gear this is what we'll need to do. We both are about to hit valor 70.
So basically I was looking for confirmation that 5 augmented set pieces + the weapon (s) > the actual pieces that you earn despite losing any set bonuses.
Is this how the system works now?
You should be able to use any old orange gear with an augment, rather than needing valor 70, that is unless War Hero bonus' only work with War Hero shells...
I do love the look of the new gear though, so I shall have to grind some valor before I wear it.
-
Luckily the War Hero gear isn't too much of a stat increase and it will take a while to get enough Rated WZ comms for those pieces anyway, you will most likely still see a lot of full BM geared players.
Crit crafted gear is cheap to make (great it doesn't require any pve crafting stuff just level 6) and getting an augment is fairly easy 20% chance iirc.

Bioware has publicly stated that they are fixing warzones not ending if there is a great imbalance between the number of players on each team.
Even 1 player is a significant imbalance - unless you are much better geared as a team, especially in Novare Coast and Civil War where you need to spread out and you need some other players to defend.
-
I have experienced a couple of hilarious incidents of this affecting pvp in WZs (people exploding at crucial moments!).
Not so hilarious if it had affected my team perhaps ...
Take the vaccine!
Where is the vaccine? there is a Womprat vaccine on the fleet, but you can forget it if I have to go to Tatooine.
-
So they join a winning team and get carried? great, i rather the losers leave and maybe get someone that can actually play, which happens allot.
If people actually played the objectives no matter how hard the opposing team is, you should easily walk away with 5 medals, even 8, earning you around 40 to 55, i have even had 65 for a loss.
You can't just play deathmatch now and i really think thats the issue with alot of players.
Anyway, I would be all in for even rewards if they did something to actually get people to play to win and not just wack away for high dmg/heal numbers
Yeah people playing for the objectives... like in the previous patch where medal farming didn't get you anything. God knows why they made it such a bad system now.
-
You think that sucks, I got 65 comms for a perfect win - we defended first then won as soon as we got the 1st door (which was very fast).
-
The worst thing for me is a lot less Huttball, it was about 80% of my games before 1.2 and now i have to play the other ****** warzones.
-
I think the only thing that needs fixed is people need to be penalized for leaving a WZ early, other than that, I have no issues.
What if you leave a game that starts 3 v 8 with no players joining for the first 3 minutes and doesn't shutdown? (btw it seems they completely took out the automatic shutdown feature now).
-
The only players who benefited from this patch were already the best players and indeed the best geared players on the server. GEARWARS ftw.
It was far more competitive pre 1.2 when you could still play on an almost even field wearing Champion gear.
Layoffs at Bioware What does this mean for content

Not to mention Active Subs is very misleading since it's just anyone with game time on their account or even free trial players - Note: they gave most players 30 days free game time, so ofc the active subs will look much better than people actively logging in and playing for reasonable amounts of time.
