  1. Hi - Yes, but it is sliver and not green (there are other differences as well). I have the Battlelord armor in real life (it was a set LucasArts used for promoting the game before it was released), so I really am looking for the green Battlelord set, as shown in all the trailers. If there was a way to color the chest piece that might work, but alas... Gwaine.
  2. Hello - I made this post in the General Discussion forum before I saw the Suggestion Box, so I will repost it here. The original thread is at http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=461607 Like many Jedi Guardians, I very much wanted to look like the Guardians shown in the "Deceived" and "Return" trailers. In "Deceived" in particular, every single Jedi is shown wearing the green armor we now know is the Jedi Battlelord set in game. While certainly a Padawan wouldn't be wearing this armor, I actually assumed that this would be the "standard" uniform for Guardians once they become Knights and chose the Guardian advanced class. I eventually found out that only high-level characters can wear this armor. Disappointing and illogical, I thought, but I knew I would get there fairly soon. I then learned that this armor is only obtainable as a rare drop from L45ish enemies or from Treasure Hunting missions. Undaunted, I dropped Scavenging and trained Treasure Hunting to 400. I got Kira's affection to 10,000 so as to get the maximum critical bonus. I then started collecting statistics on TH missions and discovered that only Tier 5 Rich and Bountiful yield missions have a chance of dropping the armor, along with a considerably lower chance in Tier 6 Abundant yield missions. Furthermore, orange-quality items (of any type) seem to only drop on a critical roll, with a frequency right around 10%. But there are dozens and dozens of orange items on the loot table (not to mention the purple items which are likely on the same table). With the new (and welcome) color matching system, only the chest piece is absolutely critical, but the odds of getting this particular piece -- one drop among dozens, and only a 10% chance to roll at all -- is vanishingly small. Nevertheless, it can be done, as many people can attest. So I started running two TH missions (Tier 5 Rich and Bountiful) every half an hour for as long as I was awake. I even set up Splashtop Streamer so that I can run missions from my smartphone even when not at my computer. I have run 4 missions an hour, 10 hours per day, for over three weeks now. That's over 800 missions. I have found two Battlelord pieces (head and wrist) out of all of those missions. I found two additional copies of each of these on the GTN in that time. Now that the rarity of the chest piece is out, we are not likely to see many of them on the GTN -- even if you aren't playing a Guardian now, people know they will be rolling alts soon -- Legacy system encourages it. And so now I'm frustrated. The armor isn't necessary to play the game -- it has no enhancements pre-installed. But I own this armor in real life and I very much want my character to have this look. Unfortunately, running missions so much has become so tedious that I'm losing my desire to play at all. I can abandon the quest. give up, and accept that I have been defeated by a random number generator. And every single time I log in to my character I will be visually reminded of that fact. The fact that I was beaten not through lack of skill, but through an RNG. I did everything possible to increase my odds to get this armor. I also go out and fight L45 mobs between missions. I check the GTN (with an alt) every half hour. There is nothing I can do to increase my chances -- again, I've been beaten without really getting to test my skill. And that's beyond discouraging. I'm not quitting the game, obviously. But this is a plea to the developers: Always, always, always make highly desirable items (of any sort) available through play and effort, be it quests, commendations, or whatever system you want. Don't make it dependent on random numbers. Yes, your logs will show I have put in an incredible amount of playtime since I started trying to get this armor. But none of it has been enjoyable. And is souring me on an otherwise incredible game. Yes, I can give up. And very soon now, I will. But the game will be continually reminding me of my disappointment. And that's not fun. Bragging rights come from effort, not from lucky rolls on a loot table. Thanks, Gwaine.

  4. The body armor is all plastic. The armor on the boots is foam plates with five (light) coats of gloss spray lacquer. The shirt is just a long sleeved Hanes Beefy T, and the pants are Danceskin exercise pants (not as tight as tights, but tighter than sweats). The gloves are leather with plastic armor handguards Velcro'd on. There are shoulder plates under the robe. I decided to go with the look from the Deceived trailer instead of strictly staying with the Battlelord armor (and put the shoulder bells on the outside). Tough call, but I think it looks better this way, I made the lightsaber as well... Gwaine
  5. Hi all - It's not done, but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing a shot of a test fit of the armor I did today. I am going to have to remake the shirt, and since my character is a Mirialan, I'm going to get some green make-up, but you can get a pretty good idea of what it looks like. http://keithwatt.org/TORJedi/VenZallow-640.jpg As an update, I got the wrists today in a Tier 5 TH mission and the greaves on the GTN yesterday. I just need the gloves, belt, and that all-important chest. In truth, if I could get the chest, I'd call it done! If anyone is on Begeren Colony server, I have head and boots to trade. TTYL.. Gwaine
  6. I still need to finish modding the chest armor to fit me (everything else is finished), but I'll post a pic once I'm done. It will probably be next weekend. It's a pretty amazing set... Gwaine
  7. Well, I had my synthweaver guildmate confirm -- the tooltip says "No research available". So no RE for this set! Ah well. Gwaine
  8. Here's an interesting bit from the latest patch notes: General Custom (orange) moddable items that have no modifications installed can now be reverse engineered. The Jedi Battlelord armor fits that perfectly, but what is the chance? Not many of us would risk a rare piece like that on a 20% RE chance, but just imagine if even one person on a server could make this armor with augments.... EDIT: I just this moment got my first Jedi Battlelord piece from TH missions: The headgear -- which I already had two of. Sigh. BioWare, it's not nice to tease. I'm trying to decide if I should hold on to both extras for trading, or try to RE it... Gwaine
  9. Hi all - I, too, have been looking for the elusive Jedi Battlelord pieces, so I decided to start tracking my TH missions to better narrow down what gives what. I have a set of the Battlelord armor in real life (one of the sets that was used by LucasArts to promote the game at conventions before its release), so I really want my character to look like me in RL. I've run over 150 Tier 5 and 6 missions (so about 50+ hours of game time), so I'm starting to get some pretty good statistics. Though I have yet to find a Battlelord piece, I have found a number of orange items, so I assume I'm rolling on the correct loot table. I have TH 400 and have 10000 affection with Kira, so I should be getting the greatest possible crit chance. What I've found is that ONLY Tier 5 Rich and Bountiful TH missions have ever dropped an orange item -- and I've gotten about a dozen of them, so the crit chance must be around 10%. When Tier 6 Abundant TH missions crit, I have gotten a purple item (always a mod), so it is possible that they will yield an orange item as well. If so, however, the chance for an orange item must be much less than 10%. Were it not for the fact that someone on these forums found one from a Tier 6 mission, I wouldn't think it was an option, but while the Jedi Battlelord armor may be on the Tier 6 table (and presumably the greaves, at L50, would have to be), the loot table is much larger --and the fact that Abundant is the top-yield mission means your odds of getting the Battlelord pieces here are much smaller than with the Tier 5 missions. So, in summary, the best odds for TH seem to be to use Kira (with max affection) on Tier 5 Rich and Bountiful missions. If you don't have both those in the mission list, zone into your ship and back out until you get them. If you're out in the field, run a 95-credit Tier 1 mission (3 minutes) to randomize the list. Running the Tier 6 Abundant missions is probably worthwhile, but don't expect much -- you're getting down to tiny odds with that mission. Still, if you have the cash and a third character available, why not? All that said, clearly crowd-sourcing is the only real way to get the set -- buy it on the GTN or through trades made here. The odds of your getting it through TH missions run every 25 minutes are probably better than anywhere else in-game, but you just can't beat having several thousand players out in the world looting things. I've found four pieces (two headgear, two boots) on the GTN, all at reasonable prices (the headgear was just 12k). I've found NOTHING from TH missions, though I'm still well within the odds. I'll keep everyone posted if I see anything different in the data as time goes on. So, if anyone wants to trade on Begeren Colony, I have a headpiece and boots to trade (or credits, of course). As with most of us, I really want the chest piece -- I'd be happy to color-match the rest -- but any pieces are welcome. Thanks! Gwaine Jedi Guardian/Begeren Colony
  10. A question for BioWare: Are the titles for the CE Soundtrack songs posted anywhere? They don't seem to be listed with the CE materials (that I can find, anyway). I'd love to know the names of the pieces! Best regards, Telo
