    not everyone has a knockback and especially not everyone has it instant.

     

    to actually give the fight depth and not only stupidly spam damage skills to win the dps race

    why are so many people that obviously do know shi.t about the game they are talking about complaining about it?

     

    most complains would resolve on their own if these people instead would start to learn how this game works.

     

     

     

    no it wouldn't. not even for you. maybe for a short time playing a sentinel you wuold enjoy pawning everyone as a nonstoppable damage machine but i bet even you would get bored after some time.

     

    to make this all more fun it would be 1000000000000 times more usefull that people like you shut up and start to understand how it works and most important:

    LEARN TO PLAY!

    Yes, lets remove all things that aren't straight up DPS /rollseyes

     

    if you cant beat the dude without having him do nothing for 4 seconds, if you legit need him to let you take a couple free shots at him for you to win then both of you should just open your disk trays break your game and walk away from the computer

  2. Then show me a video where you're doing it right to prove it to me.

     

    I'd force leap, then I'd zealous strike to start that hideously long cooldown, followed by a blade storm, blade rush, hit my valourous call. Precision strike, Zen, series of slashes. (They do more damage then blade rush when combined with a zen.) That was my old burn phase, master strike till zealous strike procs again and here's where the starvation kicks in.

     

    Can you design a rotation where you're not spamming strike to build up 2-3 times? Because Ataru is exhaustion mode. And your centering will not proc nearly as fast as it will with both Watchman and Focus.

    I take a **** on people in pvp with combat all the time i do 300k per match and have no problem with focus generation. With the abilities every time i activate cloak of pain i get 1 focus every 3 seconds, 1 focus every 6 seconds if you really run out of focus you're just playing it wrong and to the guy who said carnage is squishy we get a 30% damage reduction to AOE's which means Focus specced sentinels are going to get a severely large damage decrease when using force sweep on us

  3. Everyone is assuming that im doing it wrong, instead of using their brains for a second. I could tell you that my vanguards name is primedouche on freedon nadd, 983k dmg record, i have topped literally every wz in overall dmg. Not just topped, made more dmg then the second best and third COMBINED. But lets THEORYCRAFT A BIT!

     

    What would you do against a SHADOW or against a SENTINEL? These are the most common melees

     

    In case you are not familiar with the class mechanisms, im gonna list the important cd's for you :)

    Shadow: 3-5 sec cloak of shadow (immunity to eveything, removes roots,dots)

    :same sprint as the sorcerers one

    : vanish to make sure to not getting kited

    : stun, instant long distance lift if he is balanced spec

    Sentinel: practicly 50-80% sprint if he is getting kited (thx to valorous call he can pop it anytime)

    : charge

    : vanish aka camoflauge

    :choke aka stun

    :if gods forbid he is midspecced, both crippling throw and masterstrike roots for 3 second and camoflauge removes your snare!

    : saber ward, 25% dmg reduction, rebuke 20% damage reduction, guarded by the force

     

    Practicly charge, any stun , cloak of shadow, awe, vanish counts as interrupts. Against a good player you shouldnt be able to cast out a SINGLE SPELL! Sage armor makes it impossible to survive all these cd's. I do understand that some of you might defeat these classes, becouse your enemies are DROOLING *******. But if you met a HALF DECENT PLAYER, you would find yourself in a grave sooner than you could *********** blink

     

    BUT PLEASE BY ALL MEANS, ENLIGHTEN ME AND EXPLAIN HOW COULD I COUNTER THEIR INSANE DAMAGE , considering their surv and mobility cd's!

    first off shadows are only immune to force and tech attacks for 3-5 seconds it does not remove dots or anything at all,

    vanish is on a 3 minute cooldown

    you have the same stun what the hell are you complaining about

    thats only if he has 30 stacks of centering valorous call is on an extended cooldown too 3 minutes

    without charge then melee classes would have no hope of anything we would get nuked while trying to get to you

    ill give you vanish

    that choke also stuns us during the duration just so you know

    if he has a root so he can actually get to you since master strike was useless before

    every other class has either heavy armor or some other form of these abilities

     

    you guys get heals an instant heal for a moderate amount a ******* bubble shield in which i cant do damage to you, if i break that bubble shield i get stunned never mind numerous slows a knockback that roots me for 3 seconds and that instant whirlwind along with electrocute

     

    and heres some more proof you're playing wrong and should stop doing pvp

     

  4. An immobilize is not a stun. It is a root. You will still be able to swing your glowsticks you just won't be able to move. So unless I'm mistaken you'll just keep on Ravaging/Master Striking if they use Rocket Punch/Stockstrike.

     

    And seriously guy? A Marauder complaining about Mercs/Commandos? That's just rich.

     

    please explain how am i suppose to swing my glowsticks while you are out of the 4 meter range shooting and kiting me

  5. Opener should be leap zealous strike blade rush precision slash and blade storm anyway shouldnt it. that way if you do get stunned or knocked back or whatever you still have precision slash when you get back on target and plenty of focus to boot.

     

    the 4.5 second window isnt long enough to get off blade storm because a knockback is usually accompanied by a slow

  6. I am talking about the rocket punch, and no its not going to make it easier to kite. the change is utter crap, we dont need more stuns, this game has too many, even on a Merc i can have 2 instant stuns if played the right way... why do i need a 3rd with a 15 second CD?

     

    y would you need a 2nd knockback? you already have 1 and btw stuns are better than knockbacks because i cant force charge you during a stun

  7. um in 1.4 they took all the good knockbacks away.

     

    what are you talking about? they didnt take any knockbacks away infact they increased the range of them if you're talking about rocket punch they turned that into a stun which is going to make melee classes even easier to kite

    ravage is uninterruptable and with carnage it immobilizes them, it doesnt mean they cant knock us back or stun us or any of the other stuff

  10. The 4-man premade I was in consisted of sorc healer 2 assasins and 1 marauder. The other guild premade we teamed up with was roughly the same. I was usually top DPS with between 400-500k on average. And this was over a 7 hour period yesterday. But we seriously had to focus fire the sentinels (couldn't even bother with the healer because the sentinels would kill us all before we could even kill just the healer).

     

    Don't tell me none of you have come across invincible Sentinels/Marauders?

     

    I mean it was so bad last night that on Civil War, we had captured Snow and Repubs at Mid and Grass, and we had to to leave 4 on Snow to defend while the other 4 tried to cap mid/grass, because this one sentinel and a healer could still kill all 4 guarding Snow.

     

    I've played a lot of PVP in this game and very seriously in others, and I'm not claiming that I'm the best or anything, but the people I play with are people who take this seriously. We practice (against each other in various 1v2 1v3 2v3 3v3 4v4 etc.) combinations in Tatooine, frequently experiment with different gearing/spec trees and generally take this a lot more seriously than we should. I'm not saying we're the best, but we're not scrubs. And the other Imp guild we queing with has the reputation as the best imp pvp guild on our server. But yeah, only a handful of our marauders werein our que.

     

    Anyways, the question still stands...have any of you ever seen ANY DPS class get anywhere near 800K damage in a single WZ? The fact that that is possible, is just weird. Sure, this sentinel was a fantastic player. Knew who to attack and was just very good. He clearly practiced a lot and knows how to play his sentinel. But I feel like there are plenty of other great PVP players in other classes, who also really know how to play. It's just that our potential to do DPS is capped at a certain level, and a sentinel's potential is capped somewhere between 200-300k damage above us.

    that guy is just amazing then but i have seen people do 700 and 600k in warzones but 800k? ive seen that once with a juggernaut who kept smashing everyone in the area btw what was this sentinels spec?

  11. I thought we needed another nerf marauder thread.Funny that only Marauders/Sentinals say they are finally balenced:cool:.

    So Sages,Operatives and Mercenarys got shafted over the last few patchs,badly.

    Bioware,either buff ranged dps to contend with Marauders again,or nerf their Marauders defensive cooldowns and make Ravage interuptable again.

    The pvp commuinity((Excluding bad marauders who think they have magically got better after patch 1.2)) is calling for the Marauder nerf,when will you deliver it?

     

    LOL i laughed so hard they got nerfed because everyone could beat a maurader because of the patch now mauraders can actually contend against other players in PVP and if you bring in a picture of level 50 pvp that is invalid because everyone knows that the only OP classes in 50 pvp are the classes that have war hero gear on facing a recruit

  12. So very true. PT's just post high damage stats in WZ's but mauraders absolutley destroy people one on one and have crazy defenses for such high offense.

     

    one reduces damage by 20%, one is a 50% bonus to melee and ranged defense and 25% force and tech damage decrease (which is shared by our juggernaut brothers) and one spends half your health to become invincible for 4-5 seconds after which YOU ARE GOING TO DIE mauraders need these so they dont get their butts kicked by everyone and besides everyone has defensive cooldowns like us, troopers have a 25% reduction to all damage on a shorter cooldown than saber ward, assassins and shadows have a potential 5 second immunity to force and tech attacks along with a 50% bonus to melee and ranged defenses (shorter cooldown than saber ward too) and snipers dont even get me started those absorb barriers block everything

The sacking of coruscant looked awesome in a trailer, so awesome many people couldnt stop watching it over and over (infact i watched it 3x) so then i thought why did bioware waste this golden oppurtunity for an operation just imagine 8 or 16 infamous imperials storming a jedi temple on Telos (lets just say in the 300 years it became an actual jedi temple, and since Atris stored many sith holocrons one of which could be of great importance, you would have to do the most daring thing of your career, assault a jedi temple.wouldnt that be a better op than storming a hutts palace?

     

    and for the republic maybe they have to retake the temple from the imperial and sith guards (after the intial attackers were rotated out) say like the holocrons there were of great importance and must be studied to learn the weaknesses of the sith

  14. Ok so here's my problem.

     

    I 've been playing a full tank, buying all War Hero Survivor Gear (absorption rated) for the past 3 months. I have 75% War Hero.

     

    I regret it and am very angry at BW.

     

    Even though with a healer, or great guarding skills I can get 125,000 damage, and 100,000 protection on average (though it's usually a little less). I feel like it's not worth it. I play with other DPS guardians (who where Mysitcs gear...Power) and get 300,000 damage and 200,000 protection...even if they only get 100,000 that is great I struggle to get 100,000 often.

     

    Yes I have read ALL the blogs about how absorption is a waste, but I had FAITH in this company that it would make SOME difference. I believe when this is looked into that it is a 100% waste.

     

    My conclusion sadly is it makes no difference at all, and that it actually makes your player (toon) much worst since you have to do so much extra work just to get your damage up...

     

    Should I ask for all my credits back for every single piece of gear? Should I just give up?

    I'm not about to start grinding all over again!! This is BW's fault. They should either remove this gear from the game

    or make it stronger. For me, a customer who had a little faith in the game mechanics, I feel cheated.

     

    So again should I get my money back? I probably will just quit the game all together if I can't. Such a waste of time...

    AND YES I TUANT 24/7 and guard healers etc!!!

     

    if theyre in DPS gear and getting more protection that a war hero tank its something you are doing wrong then maybe you're out of tanking range or the fact that you guard healers who are away from the fight, maybe its who you're guarding can you give us a sample of your gameplay?

  15. so yeah i chose carnage, since i mostly just wanna quest and have no intention of pvping, so if carnage was not smart, what would be smart, and how do i choose a different spec?

  16. This, just like in the case of people whining about grav/tracer spam, people were just to bad to interrups.

    Was a L2P issue the firsst month after the game came out.And now of course commando/mercenery dps is

    useless and crap in any competetive pvp even random pugs for the most part.How they could make it so ravage could not be interrupted or moved away from is beyond braindead btw.

     

    then you must have never been hit with an 6.5k tracer missile have you? anyway you can move away from ravage unless they're carnage specced in any case YOU ARE GOING TO GET SOME DAMAGE but after that he has nothing much except slash and a somewhat effective force scream

    player #1: man marauders are so underpowered

    player #2: yeah man i never want to play as these guys

    player #3: i pity the fool who chose marauder as his AC

     

    1.2 patch, makes ravage uninterruptable and a 15% boost of damage

     

    player #1: man i hate playing against marauders they're so OP

    player #2: those guys are completely untouchable

    player #3: these classes are unbelievable

    player #4: that maurader gave me cancer

     

    the only logical answer is that

    If your enemy was beaten badly last week and very little has changed about him and he comes and BEATS YOU DOWN this week then your enemy has clearly bested you in a matter of skill

     

    if you so happen to disagree and say that marauders are always "at the top of the leaderboards" and deal "incredible burst damage" please bring in some video evidence of you playing against a marauder and F.Y.I. your argument is completely invalid if that marauder has stims and war hero gear on

     

    if you're wondering why im asking for video evidence is because I have no hope in the community's credibility after this post

  18. Fact: OP/Smugglers were in fact "OP" and with any gear they could devastate the WZ scene when game launched. The QQ for nerf came shortly after and they were obviously fixed.

    Fact: Sorc/Sages Lighting Spamming/bubble/healing was extremely too good and then was nerfed. Makes sense right?

    Fact: BH taking out any opponent within 4 sec with 16k health was just shameful that it wasn't fixed alot sooner. They were then reevaluate... and now much more manageable to fight against.

    Fact: Assassin Tanks do too much dmg in tank stance, guarding someone and while taking so little damage IN comparison to any other tank in game. Yes Fact. But that's a whole different topic that is I'm sure, being looked into.

     

     

    Listed above were relevant "Hot Fixes" Now lets move on to the topic on hand, shall we.

     

    1.2 comes around, Sentinels get 1 buff(among some fixes), 15% master strike... which apparently is causing so much QQing in these forums... that it's pretty much the same context in each thread. Simple truth, you all think that a 15% Master Strike buff is destroying your game play, then maybe you should consider PvEing more. On many many threads present and past, there has been said that interrupting the Sentinel Master Strike ability was easy as cake. Every class has an ability to do so. All this screaming for a nerf is really getting out of hand, it's almost laughable. There is always a class that some leet player is maxing out its potential and then the whole world is calling for a nerf.

     

    Bottom line: MMO's are ruined by the -casual- player who consider the Backpeddler their friend and Mouse clicking their neighbor and want to scrutinize the games mechanics over their piss poor "skill" to pvp effectively.

  19. yah there just op im a shadow tank and if 4 of them hit for anything ubove 4k for just a sweep and i get stuck in the middle il be dead and i have almost 20k health il have just enough health to get hit by them 1 more time

  21. You still bad. Madness/balance specs faceroll maras/sents. Sorry that we have to be specd that way to beat you(if both players are skilled at least). Your class isn't going to be able to faceroll 99% of players after 1.3.

    You won't be able to beat 1%.

    You guys will get nerfed. Your ignorance is over the top. I guess you forget during release(and beta if you were there) BW stated sorcs/sages were exactly where they wanted them and would not touch them. We all know how that turned out.

    funny how before 1.2 everyone was complaining we are underpowered nothing has changed at all to mauraders except ravage got better because everyone kept running away, interrupting and knocking us back, leaving ravage on a really long cooldown. If your opponent was weak a week ago and almost very little has changed about him and he somehow manages to destroy you the next time you face him, the only logical explanation is that you sir have gotten worse or your opponent has gotten alot better

    1st of all ravage never hits for 15k seconds of all i never seen a smash hit for over 6k (this was on a level 10 jedi no expertise sage with 40% armor reduction while the maurader was a fully geared battlemaster with lots of expertise and relics) and that smash only does good damage if you spec into rage. the rest of our abilties hitting for 5k? ive never seen a pre level 40 maurader hit for over 2.3k because in all trees we have specifically one ability that could even break 2.5k (excluding ravage) all of our other abilities dont do much damage except for vicious throw which is a killing move. when i was level 23 i did around 100,000 damage in warzones pretty low compared to everyone else. but if you look at the numbers in warzones we actually do around the same damage as everyone else like someone said before the only people complaining are the people who dont know how to counter them. Our class is squishy without our cooldowns infact in warzones i get bursted down by snipers, mercenaries and powertechs these classes do LOADS of damage they have incredible burst capability, as you know mauraders are played by only extremely good people nowadays who know how to manage all of their cooldowns so if you got beat its not because of the class its because they're just better than you
