  1. Honestly when you are leveling the rotations are not that important, this game is tuned so that a decently affectionate companion can solo the leveling process personally i read the abilities while leveling and simply give them a try and see how hard each one actually hits. and if you have questions on what is your main abilities for a specific class your going to want to hit up either the class specific forum or one of the dulfy guides the current one has many classes update for right now http://dulfy.net/2016/12/22/swtor-5-0-class-guides-master-list/ if your class/spec is not updated yet then you can also check out the 4.0 a bit outdated but until you get to end game its still pretty good. http://dulfy.net/category/swtor/4-0-class-guides/
  2. it is simple bioware needs to go through the group finder and add a new field for pairing players together: "story preference" it would be a click the box that suits you and it would have 5 options. "only group me with people who want to see the conversations" "i prefer to see the conversations but if the group prefers i can skip" "i prefer to skip the conversation but if the group prefers i can watch the conversations" "only group me with people willing to skip the conversations" "i have no preference please give me the first available group" now those who pick option one and those who pick option 4 will never be in the same group. using a vote system option 2 and option 3 players will decide if they want to skip or not and thus also based on how they vote people from ether group 1 or group 4 will become available to group with obviously the fifth option is for those that just don't care and will take any group the group would obviously have a pop up at the beginning of the run, a chat message and possibly an icon that attaches to something like a portrait (like the role icons) to let players know if they are expected to skip with this system in place there would be no reason to see people crying and vote kicking in flash points. using these 5 divisions bioware could separate the two who ether demand all group members skip or all group members watch the conversations while doing the minimum damage to to wait times for runs this way people who hate to actually enjoy story can avoid those who haven't even seen the story and just want to experienced it.
  3. first... republic or imp... second... event on 09/07/12 posted 10/04/12 guessing you mean 10/07/12.... am i wrong? or are the time codes on the forum wrong?
  4. i would be rich by charging for force healing... if it works for a hospital and i can cure something they can't i.e. cancer why not?
  5. a couple possible fixes... first we could put a holo call button that you click to holo call in from wherever you are for the fp mission... as stated above... or we could do this the easy way and have a copy of the quest turn in/pick up's put inside the start of the fp to encourage people to do a 2nd run so they don't have to go back to the fleet... or you could put a turn in one each planet in the space port... that would work too.... i for one wouldn't mind having to run back to the starport to turn in.. i probably have something to pick up from the comm's vendor anyhow.
  6. you might be able to do with... if BW is smart they will let you buy the op access then select gift to friend so you can give what you purchased to a friend... probably not at the f2p launch but its one of those things what is pretty standard in online purchasing for instance steam and possibly wow for some items...not sure on wow but i felt like i could give some stuff i bought away...
  7. yea keep an eye out for "companion customization" npc vendors they are usually in the spaceports or the "home base" questing hub.... you'd be surprised how many customization's are available to each companion so yes you can replace the custom skins but they tend to be a bit expensive for a leveling toon i might hold off for a bit unless you have a lvl 50 to bankroll your alt...
  8. honestly i would make a few changes to the mounts... first i would probably lower the tier 1 speed by 10-20% but i would then turn around and up the tier 3 speed by however much i took off tier 1 (up to 150%) but the big change i would make would be to set the speeders speed based off of trained level meaning if you love your digital deluxe or above free tier 1 speeder's looks you can keep it an also keep going at max speed. i would like the point out that wow's max speed on the ground is 100% and i think that is something to do with load speeds etc but if we are safe and stable at current speeds a small surely with a little optimization that must have happened since release BW could fan the speeder levels out a bit to make it so we at least feel like we are getting our moneys worth out of each rank... and personally i have to agree 10% per paid increase feels a little short... even if bw took 10-20% off the first speeders a 20-30% increase each rank would feel much better.
  9. the only *** noob moment i have had tbh was i did click the taris because it was clicky and i was curious back in like beta... but i have played so many mmo's as soon as i saw what happened i outran the boss and lived with like 10% hp..... probably would have been quicker to just die but i hate to die to pve stuff.... a lot... makes me feel like a failure... tho there have been a few re spawn bugs that got me while leveling unless i am playing a paper tiger class like a sith sorc i rarely if ever die i think my latest char is gona die a lot more before hitting 50 tho because i have started to actually explore things i know have no purpose... somewhat rare of me to decide to do that so late in my game play...
  10. ok let me point out the people saying it is intentional are trolling or have been trolled... i checked and found nothing in the 1.4 involving the gtn... what is more i know exactly what broke on the gtn put simply an and operator that defines how a search looks for all words not just one word was replaced with an or operator that looks for ether word it is undoubtedly a single word out of place however in... a few hundred pages of code... and if not properly commented what each section does finding where the search is handled exactly is a nightmare... expect this fixed next Tuesday as it is small but difficult to fix and it is not game breaking enough to take priority over most any of the other problems running rampant like peoples lag spikes etc...
  11. ok the white guy needs to be removed from the tests he hardly hit the front door then he did next to nothing but rack up hits on their door... that is an impressive security door... not as good as something like a solid metal one but it is way better looking... i would like to point out that the testers never tried to punch out the locks or focus on the frame... if i ever come up against a security door of any kind here are my 3 thoughts... 1. can i bust out a window and climb through? 2. if no windows are the walls reinforced? probably easier than breaking the door... 3. where the crap did i put my breaching charge loaded shotgun?... i hope this doesn't ricochet...(obviously aiming at the hinges and locking mechanisms...)
  12. yep thurs because BW usualy does their patches tues or in case of an emergency thurs... guessing something broke on monday so they had to push it back a few days but the no maint def screams patch incoming....
  13. must agree don't force yourself to try to like a game... for the lag may i ask what your ping is? location of a server/isp can cause big problems for gaming (the good news is it usually only needs to be optimized once) also i don't think i will be happy with anything until dual spec is put in... in pve i basically never dps always tank/heal but those specs are terrible for leveling/soloing/ and even not good in pug pvp (not a big pvper usually) the problem is bioware is new to mmo's so they didn't launch with a lot of standard quality of life features and they were completely blindsided by the fact that the little things are often what pisses a mmo player base off the most (dual spec, companion customization specs, gear appearance, hiding mission items in a tab on a bad that you need to go digging in... etc etc etc) i love almost all bioware games... i really really love SW... starting to loose hope in swtor over here too.. i am actually considering buying gw2 or mop (and going back to wow after like a year or more free and clean...)
  14. http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/26674266.jpg thank you for the dictionary link... i guess... at least you didn't add a bit of preaching... and op what classes have you played? there are a few comp's that get close to that level of awesomeness tho i don't think any of them are drunkards..... people have been asking for more companions since like beta... we will get them... but not for a very long time.
  15. how about if they put 4 char slots in the legacy system sub lvl 50 and then put the last 4 in cash shop... i would be fine with that... tho i do hope we get a full 16 w/o having to pay...
  16. actually this isn't really a nerf aimed at trooper/BH its more of an attempt to cut down on all cc that you can still shoot the target that is being cc'd so there will hopefully be fewer stun locks.... and no i don't think that this was the right step for BW to make... it sort of smacks of nerfing all ranged dps that might have depended on these cc's to keep their target at long range... don't get me started on the removal of the push back as a merc/commando i considered it my job to lock down locations i can't tell you how many times i have knocked melee off a cliff by letting them chase me to it, then once they think my ability to throw them off is down using an upper cut to say goodbye... even if the cliff is 10 ft that is a long walk around the rocks in a wz where you are effectively useless... i have no use for snares, they just don't fit my play style....
  17. funny thing is they remind me of a group of red court vampires in the dresden books... the lords of outer night.... anyone else?
  18. Ok the idea is simple... lots of players have tons and tons of alts... mine are spread out on multiple servers because i re-rolled like 3 times before the forced destination transfer went in place.. but live and learn. so this will be somewhat less effective for me but... the idea is simply connecting all the characters crew skills together that you have leveled. so for instance if i am leveling a jedi knight through the legacy system i can issue commands to my trooper to churn out a few armoring's to enhance my leveling this could be done ether through the current connection to of the mail system/crafting system(inventory overload) or a crafting station, or even a legacy bank. to unlock this you would have to play a large upfront fee to gain access to the system on all your characters then a small one time fee on each of your characters to... "register" their crafting skills and make them accessible... also i would think that allowing reverse engineering to work for every profession you have fully leveled... and it is up to the devs if they want to force the char your relying on for the re'ing to learn the schematics.... or if the schematics will drop into the bag of the char that is doing the reverse engineering (bind on legacy sell able would be the only options there.) or even if there is just not going to be a chance to learn the schematics. this would be invaluable to lots of players who craft for friends etc suddenly we would not have to hop to three diff char's simply because they are where the needed crafting skills happen to be sitting.... maybe i am wrong but i feel like this is one of those things that the legacy system could revolutionize for the mmo community to my knowledge accessing all your crafting skills no matter which char you are on/your skills are on has never yet been done...
  19. /sigh niter a trooper nor an agent use a pistol in game play... but their mirror's bounty hunter/smuggler both use pistols... i am sorry i didn't spell out every part of that explanation i made assumptions on your knowledge of classes and class balance I'll try not to do that in the future...
  20. i think BW already plans to put out De-mirroring (with no advantage) legacy unlocks.... why else would troopers and imperial agents always use a pistol in cut scenes? frankly tho they are starting with lower level unlocks to keep balance and give other players who say... didn't do a bunch of ops right after release when they gave out broken amounts of xp... a chance to catch up on their legacy levels.
  21. i'm not sure why social leveling isn't just made a part of legacy... seems like a massive aggravation to level social on each of your toons.... i'm not even pitching anything too crazy like replacing social points but it would be nice if BW made it so all your characters share a social level that you gain social xp on all toons... even it it takes 2x or 3x the amount of xp per level i would prefer to only have to do the social grind once...
  22. i dunno about anyone else but i was a bit underwhelmed with the Jedi... both of them.... for anyone who has lvled a Jedi knight, am i wrong or did it feel like a badly paced action movie? when in doubt insert hero trying to stop a bomb from going off... story solved. i hear that imp stories are better overall and a lot of people claim the imperial agent is the best hands down... i have been thinking about looking into that
  23. you will have a ton of opinions thrown your way very soon... first i will say Google search is your friend for deciding if a feature is worth it... not sure if it has been improved but i turned off shadows a long time ago... they hit performance a lot... like a lot, a lot in this game... and they look terrible... really tho i would say to just play with the presets till you find something close to what you want performance wise (how many fps do you personally need) then start playing with settings like turn off shadows until you are satisfied.. noone can tell you because even if some one has the same hardware as you how well your computer or their computer is optimized (clogged up with ****?) short answer: i strongly recommend you just play with the settings.
  24. i'd also like to point out that not only does it sounds like the op is quoting theoretical net speeds... those are not actually speeds... its more like how big of a pipe you can get data threw for all we know you have a bad router between you and the game server slowing your connection down... perhaps if you wanted to be helpful you could post some computer specs and some trace route's... you know to prove its not your computer or your connection... because i have actually noticed significant improvements to my fps with the 1.2.0a patch
  25. i have noticed that a little bit of pvp goes a long way on lvling or at least it used to not sure post 1.2.. my toons in the past have had no problem finishing at least a lvl ahead of the planets they finished but this toon i do some space dallies but i have also been practically power lvling my latest toon meaning i don't do as many dallies and often run out of rested xp... as such i am going to have to stop and do some bonus missions... in other words the quests straight are a little lacking so trying to just power through the quests quickly will cause some problems.... I'll probably do some bonus missions then a bit of pvp to get my lvl buffer back...
