I'd really like to get some more input on this from the community. It'd be a shame if such a simple solution to such a hindering problem got lost in the depths of discarded suggestions here.

Changing the player's name-tag would work just as well, maybe even better.

I don't understand what you're getting at. The idea is that people can see who is available for RP, so that you can just approach someone and start RPing with them. It takes the guessing out of the equation. Think of it as toggling on and off an "RP mode" that shows everyone that you're open for, and actively, RPing. Third-party mods are a solution, but I'd much rather see the devs make additional features to support RP, for the sake of uniformity.

Add a /RP command that adds a "tag" or some sort of logo next to your name to signal to other players that you can be approached and role played with. As a player on an RP-PVP server, I'm greatly disappointed with what has so-far been an almost complete lack of RP. This simple fix will hopefully remedy that by allowing players to see who is actually on the role play server to role play, considering that many players are not. Simple enough, right? Thoughts, comments?
