I cancelled today. I wanted to love this game because I love Star Wars and I loved the KOTOR series, but I could hardly get myself to sign in to this game.
No immersion: little things matter. No day/night cycles? No active NPCs other than dialogues. I mean, you can't even sit down in chairs at cantinas and watch the band or get a lap dance. The who game just felt fake and dead. There should have been holidays and festivals and backstory and all sorts of phenomenal insights into the SW universe unobtainable anywhere else... That is not the case.
No community: Guilds are weak. Cantinas are empty. There really should be games like Pazaak and racing to make cantinas and the planets seem alive. You should be able to gamble in casinos.
Space combat: Very boring and poorly implemented.
BioWare/EA Customer Service: I really didn't have a need to talk to support staff, but I have read these forums quite a bit and I am really put off by the dismissive and condescending replies that the support team gives on this site. If you don't care about your fans and making the game better, don't complain when people stop playing.
Hopefully with an expansion the developers can correct a lot of the other issues, which I will not go into detail here. There are countless threads on this game's problems. But overall this game was just really boring and I felt like the creators were playing it safe (trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator) and as a result really just made a mediocre game, which could have been, and should have been really interesting.
