  1. Well, that would be enough time to survive what the OP is describing. And the whole point is that if someone messes that up, they shouldn't survive.

To be honest, I don't even remember any similar phases (and I mean phases where you're supposed to die if you don't do what the mechanics of the fight require you to do) that last longer than that. At least not pre-2.0, because i haven't done S&V.

It's not meant to be survivable, that's the whole point of missing the puddles when you are Doomed.

Same with OP IX,if you fail to get your color, you be dead.

  2. Then I fail to see your point.

The guy doing Flashpoints with his 3 mates shouldn't have access to the same gear as people who run Ops? I've never understood the attitude.

They have access, all they need to do is run ops to get the gear.

If they don't run ops, then there is no reason for them to have the gear, as it's not needed to complete FP's.

  3. The carrot is still there, no-one has suggested taking drops out of ops. But why should dedicated crafters/explorers/money-makers not have access to equally good reward?

I just answered your question, yet you keep asking why.

  4. Why not? If people have the patience to make it and the money to buy it.

Locking the best gear to operation level seems backwards to me, allow people to specialise and excel in other areas and you'd have a happier player base.

Because, if you're able to be fully geared with the absolute best gear before even setting 1 foot into the instance, what's the point of even doing them?

The gear is the "carrot on the stick" for us raiders, that's what drives end game raiding.

  5. Whenever I click on the marauder sub-forum it takes me to the SWTOR maintenance page. It only happens for the marauder forums as I can freely navigate the rest of the site. Anyone else have this issue or have any ideas what may be the problem and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I have this issue every time they do maintenence.

  6. I wish that you could go into a different instance if you didn't have manners or if you are a little kid that doesn't care. I am so sick of people killing my mob for no reason..... Whatever happened to manners U_U .....ignorance is not an excuse!!!

    ROFL!

Really? they can't steal your mobs, if you are first to hit a mob, you will get credit no matter who lands the killing blow.

  7. Mmm...

The game is relatively speaking enjoyable, but personally I do not believe its worth the subscription price. Too many of the new features requires real money for the simulated glitter you get at the company store which is a definite turn-off to be a subscriber.

For the subscription price they ask, they are one of the highest priced MMORPGs and the game depth is rather shallow when compared against more mature games who charges less, and don't charge money for every feature that comes standard in so many other MMORPGs.

    This is complete fail.

Highest priced? By what? 1 dollar per month?

The stuff that requires real money is TOTALLY OPTIONAL.

As a subscriber you get everything, except fluff.

Fluff is not required to play this game.

  8. Last night (Sunday night) I saw 150 people on the fleet at 8 p.m.

Make sure you check for multiple instances. Hit "M" and in the bottom right, there will be a dropdown box if there are more than 1 instance of the area you are in.

Usually on my server there are 3 fleet instances at any given time.

  9. So what, the 2 toons I have on Harbinger will be deleted?, or merged into the other 11?.

Yes I see I will have to delete one toon if they merge.

I don't think they will be deleted, I had this issue also, one of my toons was basically "disabled" for lack of a better term.

Meaning that I had to either delete a toon or buy another character slot if I wanted to play that toon.

Thankfully it was my least played toon.

  10. I've reverse engineered a dozen or so 31 item modifications on PTS, learned a few schematics, and not had a single Exotic Equalizer or Mass Manipulation Generator result from it. MMGs will probably be slightly more common, since it looks like 8 man NM drops them at the same rate as 16 man HM, but still costly.

well that sucks, I was assuming that it would be like the Molecular Stabs were. :(

  11. If someone puts in the effort to reach the top in a craft, they should be able to craft the best gear in the game. Otherwise there's simply no point.

Wrong, making the top tier gear available to everyone makes end game raiding useless.

The whole point of end game raiding is to obtain the best gear available, not for everyone and their brother to buy it off the GTN.
